Wiechmann was a top notch place. Simple, affordable clean, can t beat the location. Staff were as nice as it gets. One of the nice people working the front desk was even from my hometown in the USA and every bit as pleasant as people from there, and I can t say how highly I think of the Dutch people. They are the best. Best stay of my European trip out of 5 cites in 4 countries.

We enjoyed the family room. The location is great easy walk to museums, restaurants, shops, etc. Good breakfast, and a great view from the dining room you can see all the cyclists and their near misses. Friendly people on desk. I like the hotel dogs too
The only thing I would recommend is to add a hairdryer to each room, or have some available to use. I don t watch tv generally, but some people might be disappointed in the quality of tv reception.
“My tip: DEFINITELY TRY THE DIVAN TURKISH RESTAURANT NEARBY EXCELLENT FOOD, NICE ATMOSPHERE AND FRIENDLY STAFF.”

Wonderful location and very helpful staff.
It can't be helped but the stairs were the only minus points, as I said its a general issue throughout Amsterdam .
“My tip: Over the bridge from the hotel is nice little bar called Doeffer, good food, staff and beer.”

This is an attractive, quirky place full of old furniture and great ambiance. The staff members were all very friendly and helpful and it has a great neighborhood location, close to the action but not right in the middle of crowds. Also a simple breakfast is served in a lovely, sunny, glass surrounded corner room.
I would have expected good feather pillows there. The pillows were cheap and lumpy.
“My tip: Many great neighborhood cafes in the area.”

Other juli 2013
good breakfast, helpful desk, excellent location and lounges
very steep stairs - we were on the 4th floor and carrying luggage up there was difficult (to say the least). Bedroom was small and hot, got badly bitten and bites became infected. Should have insect screens at windows and warnings.
“My tip: use insect repellent at night”
