Surroundings

In 1811 Napoleon had an impressive fortress, the Fort Napoleon, built at the dunes, because he feared an attack on the port of Ostend from England, however this never happened. Next to the fort lies a charming bistro. The Wellington Racetrack was named after the Duke of Wellington and was built in the late 19th century. On the grounds of the racecourse lies the Wellington golf club and this is only 10 minutes away from Hotel Louise Ostend. The lighthouse Lange Nelle has guided many fishermen safe into the fishing port since 1949. It is the fourth lighthouse in the history of Ostend and the third at the same location. The lighthouse is 65 meter high and has 324 steps.

Food and Drink

The breakfast buffet is served between 08:00 and 11:00 h.The hotel has a cosy bar. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but Ostend offers many restaurants where you can enjoy excellent food, including great and fresh seafood dishes.

Great family run hotel with a good location.

Great family run hotel, very friendly staff. We were in a large superior room that was quiet even though it was opposit the lift and on the main stairs. The room was well sized and had good lighting and a modern flat screen tv. The shower room was very nicely done with hot water readily available.

poor wire hangers in wardrobe. No coffee/tea making facility in room.

“My tip: The Bottle pub oposit serves a very wide range of Belgium beers. The Artist serves a greet range of open grilled food, get there early and reserve a table. The T'Zeetotje? serves great pasta dishes at reasonable prices - the steak is fantastic. Can get busy. If you just want a snack in a good cafe then try The Old Ham just round the corner from the hotel. It has very reasonable budget food. ”

Nice hotel in city centre of Oostende, only room is quite hot...

    Located in the city center.

Outside 18 degrees C, inside more than 25 degrees C. Apparantly a strange problem; it is very hot and stale inside, especially in the bathroom. Opening the windows helps only a bit.

All staff very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

Some guests overly noisy at night, with little consideration for others (hardly the fault of the hotel)! 2. Lack of parking facilities.
