Only good thing about the hotel was the location.

The room was in a very bad shape and it smelled horrible, especially in the bathroom from the drains.

On balance, a bargain, but don\'\'t be a fusspot.......

Great Location near the station. We had a room at the front of the hotel overlooking the canal. Nicely renovated bathroom.

We paid €73.50 per night online for 2 nights, then extended in the same room one more night, which cost €99. Thought that was a bit over the top. No plug in the sink. Asked for one, but no spikky English all of a sudden. Shower in bath and very slippery. Needs rubber non-slip mat. Television not flatscreen, picture on all channels unwatchable. Impossible stairs for carrying up luggage. Lift from 1st to 2nd Floor works seldomly. Only minor irritations.

“My tip: At €70, a good option considering the location, and don\'t mind wrestling with your luggage. Much improved over previous comments by guests on trip advisor.”

Good hotel value, with some caveats

The hotel is in an excellent location on the Damrak. The price was excellent.

Unfortunately, the room I was given was in a different building. Worse than that the bed had bed-bugs and after 3 nights, I left with scabs all over my body. I have mentioned this to the hotel management and hope they take care of this serious problem so it does not tarnish their reputation.

    Mixed bag

The second room I was moved too was quiter and therefore much better than the first. Nice receptionists.

Room 101 is terrible - almost impossible to sleep, the window is not sound proof, the mattress is too soft, the curtains don't screen out the light. Not enough blankets. A kettle in the room and tea making facilitires would be welcome

Decent hotel, very convenient, reasonably priced, with good service.

Very convenient. Good service. Clean enough. Close to the sex museum.

Bit of a sleazy neighborhood. Noisy out front, but quiet in back. Close to the sex museum.

If you have no other place to stay, think about not coming.

    Location

Bed bugs, rooms are dirtier after maid service, expensive for a room the size of a closet, bad experience

    Cheap But Disappointing

The plus is that it's a cheap-ish place to crash in the center of the busy part of Amsterdam

They gave us a single with two tiny beds in it and called it a double. The room looked absolutely nothing like the picture provided. Multiple times, when buzzing to get in (you have to buzz to get into the building), there was no door man to let us in, so we had to wait.

    Unamazing experience

    location

this is not a hotel it should be called as hostel. The price is very expensive with recpect to its quality. Furthermore, there was mice problem in the hotel i coulnt sleep due to mices and the noises in the hotel and the environment. It was my the worst hotel experience. Althogu me and my friend booked two sepearet private single ensute, one of us stay in a two person prisoner type room. There is no lift in the hotel and if wou are planning to stay dont bring luggages beacuse the stair are too narrow and close. In addition, the towels the provided was old and some are with the holes.

They gave us the rooms in the Orange Tulip hotel that is very bad

    Location

Service. Be careful with the Dam Hotel because there are 2 hotels and they gave us the room in the adjacent hotel that is awful (no elevator, we had no keys in the whole stay and they even asked for a fee for the keys...).

Don't go to this hotel, you will spare money. Dirty and noisy.

no one and I\'m objectiv! It\'s a shame for the city of Amsterdam to have such a slum on the list of the hotel. Nor fare from the train station and the place of Dam were the only positifs things.

Dirty, without any norms for zelctricity( or Ntehterland are under.... a light just over the shower, a switch not isolated in the shower....) Noisy, I heard the radio of a neibourg allthe nignt, wholes on the wall, ...I could hardly have give for such a place more then five euros. That was 75 euros for a corridor with what tey called a bed. the photo of the web side is really not the reality. Dirtiness of the steps and the entrance, along a pizzerai and an another cafe show immediatly the reality. But I hazd booked unfortunatly and paid with my visa. we have control in Belgium; it doesn\'t seem the case in nederlands.

    Not worth the location

The location was very close to the train station, right on a canal and a two minutes walk from the red light district and a ten minutes walk to the anne frank house.

I was certain that you would come out of that shower dirtier than when you went in. The shower curtain was COVERED in mold. When we arrived they couldn\'t find our reservation in their little pile of pieces of paper and then couldn\'t find our room key so they gave us a room key to another room which some how opened ours which made us very worried that someone else could get into our room.

Prime location but lacking good standard of quality and service

The only major plus point for me was hotel location and access to ameneties of central Amsterdam.

The following negative points relate to hotel facilities: 1)I was looking for a twin or double ensuite and received bunk beds which in my view was misrepresentation. 2) Cost for above accomodation was excessive for the standard of room and facilities. 3) No meal facilities 4) No tea/coffee making facilities despite lack of food availability. 5) Television in room was not tuned in despite daily requests to reception
