The country estate on which Relais & Chateaux Kasteel Engelenburg is located has a long history that probably dates back to the early Middle Ages. The present-day hotel still breathes this history, as well as the atmosphere of the aristocratic families that inhabited this castle in earlier times. All rooms have a private bathroom with a toilet and a shower or bath, a telephone, a television, a minibar and coffee and tea making facilities. The rooms have been decorated with antique furniture and classical, rich fabrics.
In the historic heart of the village Brummen lies Hotel Het Oude Postkantoor Brummen, near the village square. They've managed to transform the former post office into a very pleasant place to stay. The mailbox area is now the entrance of the building and via the former loading bay you'll reach to the large courtyard of the hotel. In the great hall, where the postmen used to work, you can now have breakfast and at times even attend a classical concert. The hotel rooms are located in the former canteen, mailroom, switchboard room and waiting room. Each room is furnished contemporarily, while they managed to preserve most of the authentic elements, such as the beautiful high ceilings and for instance the slate floor in the old waiting room. Furthermore, the rooms have good box-spring beds, a private shower, toilet and double washbasins. There is also a television in every room and some rooms have a private terrace.
