On the coast, in the beautiful Huisduinen, lies Grand Hotel Beatrix. The hotel does not only have a wide range of 4-star facilities, but also a gorgeous view of the sea from the restaurant C'est la Vie 'Wine & Dine'. The beach, sand dunes, and woods are all within walking distance of the hotel. Guests can make free use of the indoor swimming pool, the Turkish bath, and the sauna. Surroundings
Huisduinen is well-known for its clean air, as well as for being the most sunny spot in the Netherlands. It also has a rich history due to the area's strategic significance. Many of the fortresses in this area are now being restored, like Fort Kijkduin, which also houses the North Sea Aquarium. In Den Helder, lovers of culture can visit the 'Marinemuseum' (Navy Museum) and the National Rescue Museum Dorus Rijkers. Huisduinen is marked by its lighthouse, which is the largest cast-iron lighthouse in Europe, but mainly by its position amongst dykes, dunes, beaches and the sea. In other words, this is the perfect spot to spend a weekend break in the fresh sea air.
Food and Drink
The breakfast buffet is served from 07:00 until 10:00 on weekdays, and from 08:00 until 10:30 at the weekend. The award-winning Restaurant C'est la Vie ‘Wine & Dine’ offers culinary wealth with a modern-classical kitchen. Business lunches and six-course dinners can be arranged effortlessly. Groups can also have a great dinner in the atmospheric restaurant. Another option is the restaurant Meatclub, which specialises in delicious steaks, craft beers, and gin & tonics. In short, Grand Hotel Beatrix offers something for everyone: from an exuberant dinner to an evening of fine dining at restaurant C'est la Vie.

Lot of small stairs, as the hotel is built against a hill (dune) .
Signs, where to find the dining room, swimming pool, bar etc were hardly available.

Stayed at this property for 4 nights. Charming location directly next to the water and although not the most modern hotel this is definately the best place to stay in the Den Helder area. Friendly and service minded staff, nice accommodation and just comfortable

Room was immedicately next to a church where the bells would ring every hour. I woke up every hour.

Hotel a little dated. Lack of spare toilet roll when it needed replacing. Could not provide a kettle in room for heating water to make up baby feeds

Very pleasant and helpful staff. Waitress at breakfast always cheerful and smiling.
Bar always shuts early. If you have been travelling, you appreciate a drink at the end of the journey.
