Hotel
Hotel Ecu – Different Hotels has a trendy, clean-cut interior dominated by light colours. The lounge bar is a lovely place to unwind with a drink and some pleasant music or a spot of television. Free wireless Internet is available throughout the entire hotel.
The hotel rooms come with a bathroom with a bath, shower and or toilet. Furthermore, they are fitted with a wireless Internet connection, a television and a telephone. In the Deluxe Room you will also find a mini-bar (at an additional charge). The Ecu team will gladly assist you in fulfilling your wishes.
During your stay you have access to the adjacent 'Carbon Sense' city spa at a discounted rate of €25 p.p. (instead of €35 p.p.) for 3 hours. The bath house offers two different saunas: a Finnish sauna of 65 °C and one of 90 °C, an authentic Turkish hammam, steam bath, foot baths, 'experience' showers and baths, a scrubs room and much more.
Surroundings
Genk is a bustling city in the Belgian province of Limburg. The cities of Maastricht and Tongeren can be reached within a 30-minute drive, and Liège and Aachen within a 45-minute drive. The landscape surrounding Genk is great for walking and cycling trips. Genk has an open air museum, 'Bokrijk', where visitors can step into the past. A visit to the recreational park of 'Kattevennen' is a nice day out in summertime.
Food and Drink
A breakfast buffet is available from 07:00 to 10:00. The hotel does not have a restaurant. However, Hotel ECU is located in the city centre of Genk, where many bars and restaurants can also be found. Hotel ECU works in close collaboration with the nearby restaurants Gusto (500 m) and the Italian, La Focaccia.

Hotel ECU is fully automated. What does this mean: Guests check in completely themselves. Guests can access the app that allows them to open their door via their smartphone. This app also contains information about the hotel, the surroundings, etc. Guests check themselves out. There is no reception staff at the hotel. Of course our colleagues of the Carbon Hotel (located 140 meters from Hotel ECU) are on standby if there are guests who have questions or difficulties.
Children/extra beds: On request, a cot for children aged 2 or under can be added to your room for €10 per night. An extra bed for a child aged between 3 and 11 costs €20 per night.
An extra bed for adults and children aged 12 and above can be added to your room, on request and at a cost of €25 per night.

Easy access to bus and rail network. Town centre was close. Simple yet good breakfast buffet. Had its own car park.
The room and bathroom facilities were cramp. The room was close to the lift so there was additional noise. Would need more storage space for longer stays

Rooms a bit small, but are fine to me personally. Good bed and nice clean bathroom. Breakfast was very good. Free parking. Located in the center of Genk.
