Gorinchem is a fortress town along the rivers 'Merwede' and 'Linge'. In the centre you can find several monumental buildings and remains of the fortifications, such as the 'Dalempoort' gate. When you have some spare time you can enjoy a ride in the surroundings. By car you can for instance easily reach the nature reserve 'De Biesbosch'.
Surroundings
The 'Vestingdriehoek' (fortress triangle) is formed by the towns Gorinchem and Woudrichem and the 'Loevestein' castle. With a ferry or a water taxi you can cross the 'Merwede' river and wander around the monumental streets of Woudrichem. You can continue your trip by ferry to the castle 'Slot Loevestein', from where Hugo Grotius famously escaped in a book chest. Nowadays there is a museum in the castle.
Food and Drink
In the hotel you can daily enjoy a breakfast buffet, which offers both cold and hot items. On weekdays you can have breakfast from 06:30 to 09:30 h. and on the weekend from 07:00 to 10:00 h. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. At lunch time the staff serve sandwiches and omelets and daily changing specials are available for dinner. After your meal you can take a seat in the bar.

Convenient for car access, quiet.
Some way from town centre.
Steam from bathroom can apparently set of fire alarms - you will be charged if there is an emergency callout! Keep bathroom door closed...

Rooms confortable with a good shower.
I was awoke early am by road noise and I am sure I also heard a train. Limited TV channels in english. As I was travelling by train location needed taxi.

Very friendly service in the restaurant and reception.
The room was very small (albeit: measured with American standards). I would not like to stay there during the heat of the summer as I did not see any air condition facilities.

The people were very freindly and warm and service was great it made our stay much better the location was away from the city and we did not have car. but a taxi was called each time by staff. and although the weather was very cold the rooms were very warm.
The room could be larger not much room to move again thank you
