Hotel
Hotel Troopeird was built in 1978 in the village of Bellegem, at 5 kilometre from the centre of Kortrijk and 15 kilometres from Tournai. Bellegem is a rural village with a spectacular church and two breweries. The surroundings are beautiful for walking and cycling trips. The hotel is easily accessible by car and both in front and behind the hotel is ample parking.
The building in which Hotel Troopeird is located, exudes a rustic, rural atmosphere. The hotel has a lounge, a cosy restaurant and bar with fireplace. There is also a large garden with a terrace. Next to the hotel is the leisure centre Aqua Relax, located in a former inn, dating from the early 17th century.
In the interior of the hotel Flemish accents are used. There is also a collection of lace which is made by the lady of the house. The rooms are furnished with antiques but offer modern comforts. Each room has a private bathroom, cable television and a sitting area. Broadband wireless internet is available throughout the hotel and in the lounge you can use an internet kiosk.
Surroundings
From Hotel Troopeird you can reach Kortrijk in no time, it is one of the oldest cities in Belgium, situated on the Leie river. Already in the first century after Christ it became a Roman settlement called Cortoriacum, meaning 'settlement located on the bend of the river?. Attractions include the convent and belfry. The Grote Markt (grand place) is the central square of Kortrijk, the beautiful town hall is located here as well.
Food and Drink
Breakfast is offered in the restaurant, the room or in the garden. It includes freshly squeezed juices, jams made with fruit from the garden, artisan bread and fresh fillings. The menu for dinner offers local dishes, or you can choose a day menu or something of the à la carte menu.

The staff and facilities were a very pleasant surprise. The grounds were beautiful and well-kept. It was like finding a 15-room B&B in the countryside! We stayed in room #15 and it was very large and nicely decorated and clean. The bathroom was large, with two sinks and had a bath/shower combo with a beautiful tile motif. The daily breakfast was delicious and lots of food provided. One day we woke up 5 minutes before the end of breakfast, so they kindly provided us with a full tray of food to take to our room. The owner provided us with good information on driving directions and about the train to take us to the World Cyclo-Cross Championships in Hoogleide-Gits. They also provided us with a spot in the garage for our automobile. It is very accessible from the main highwaysl We would definately recommend this hotel and we would stay there again.
It would have been nice to have a queen or king size bed in the room instead of two twins put together. Also, it would be nice to have a hot pot or something to make hot water with.

In het weekend is het restaurant gesloten,zeer irritant als je van ver komt.
om een nachtje te slapen okay maar er hangt geen hartelijke gezellige sfeer beetje dooie boel.
We hadden er meer van verwacht.
