Hotel Karsten is situated in the tip of Drenthe, on the village green of Norg. Hotel Karsten has been here since the start of the 20th century, and in the centuries prior to that there was a farm. The traditional Dutch box beds have been swapped for comfortable beds and the trades of the farm for hospitality and good service. Have you decided to stay here? The surroundings of Hotel Karsten Norg are perfect for fun day trips. With an abundance of nature and plenty of walking and cycling paths. It's for good reason that Drenthe is considered to be the Netherlands' topmost province for walking and cycling. With meandering brooks, heathlands dotted with sheep and vast stretches of woods. Seen enough of the surroundings? Then drive to Groningen (25 mins) or Assen (18 mins). Both cities have a charming and atmospheric centre brimming with interesting shops, sights and attractions, good restaurants and cosy cafés.
Food and Drink
Grand Café Hotel Karsten is the hotel's atmospheric restaurant where you can enjoy a delicious meal with a view of the village green. The restaurant is open for a hearty breakfast, a light lunch, a good dinner or a few pleasant drinks. After spending the day in the fresh outdoors, it's lovely to dream away to the flickering flames of the original fireplace in the lounge. Is the weather nice? Then take a seat on the outdoor terrace at the front of the hotel where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the 13th century Romanesque church.
