De Gouden Karper lies in the endlessly stretched out landscape of the province Noord-Holland, between Alkmaar and Hoorn. Old mills grace the scenery. In the historic city Alkmaar there is a traditional cheese market on the Waagplein every Friday in spring and summer. The historic fishing-town Enkhuizen can also be reached within 30 minutes. In the surroundings you can take wonderful bike rides, or go sailing on the Alkmaardermeer and Markermeer.
