Kasteel de Wittenburg is an authentic, monumental masterpiece that dates back to 1899 built by Jonkheer Helenus Marius Speelman. The castle is located on a large estate in Wassenaar enclosed behind a breathaking nature trail. The castle has original architectural elements such as beautiful large windows and fireplaces, and is elegantly decorated with parquet floors.
There are 10 beautiful hotel rooms, each with their own unique atmosphere. The room also includes a bathroom, air conditioning, and a view of the park-like estate. We would like to address that due to the fact that this is a monumental building, the acoustics in the castle are accentuated.
Kasteel de Wittenburg has a number of magnificent function rooms with a maximum capacity of 300 persons. They are equipped with high-tech equipment and modern means of communication. WiFi is available throughout the building, including the hotel rooms.
The castle is easily accessible from the N44 and N14 roads. It's only a few kilometers from the Hague and the North Sea beach, a half-hour drive from Rotterdam and Schiphol Airport, and less than an hour from Amsterdam and Utrecht. There is ample space for parking at the castle.
Surroundings
Kasteel de Wittenburg is located on a rural estate in wooded surroundings. You can go for lovely walks in the surrounding woods. Golf enthousiasts will love the proximity of various beautiful golf courses. You can choose between the 9-hole course Wassenaarse Golf Groendael and the 18-hole course Wassenaarse Golfcllub Rozenstein with its water gardens. The castle is a 5-minute drive from the Koninklijke Haagsche Golf & Country Club. This 18-hole course amongst the sand dunes is the oldest golf club in the Netherlands.
Food and Drink
In our castle is a Restaurant named after Sophie Adriënne Baroness Sloet van Old-ruitenborgh, Mr. Speelman’s wife. Restaurant Sophie is in an enclosed location downstairs with a contemporary traditional cusine based off of a French kitchen with hint of Asian influence.
A Continental Breakfast is available betweenn 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. by reservation. Breakfast is served in the breakfast room or can be requested to be brought to your hotel room.

great suite, no. 14, with private sauna and maxi-bubblebath and seperate sitting room. very good breakfast and exellent service. Beautifull location in the forest. Nice old castle.
