Comfortable, affordable, but service could be a lot better

The room was spotless, with beautiful dark wood furniture and wonderfully soft bedding and sateen sheets. The breakfast was hearty and diverse (typical Dutch fare) and the hotel is conveniently located on a relatively tranquil street only a 15 min tram ride from the central Station. I was looking for an affordable but comfortable place to spend a quick night in Amsterdam, and this was sufficient for my needs.

When I checked in, the guy at the counter took a full minute before he made eye contact with me. And when I asked for help from the kitchen staff, they were dismissive and disinterested. I had a single room and the bed was so narrow my legs kept slipping off during the night. The room was located in the basement, so all night long there was the sound of people locking and unlocking their bicycles to the grate outside the window. The room was also tiny - the size of a monk s cell. The breakf

    A NIGHTMARE

Centric Hotel, only two streets of Leidse-plein. Reception staff are really pleasant.

Rooms are small and beds too. Cleaning leaves much to be desired. In the home page you see that you can enjoy your breakfast looking the garden but it s not true and the restaurant staff never stop talking, they are like chickens talking all the time, I m sorry but when you are in the restaurant you want to be quiet. One of the things I would like to remark is about the fire alarm, if any client smoke inside the room for sure you will be wake up because they don t have a central alarm, it sou

The location was great, close to the gardens and only a quick tram ride in to the centre of Amsterdam we even walked in one time and that was fine, much better than expected

The noise kept us up all night, but it was football world cup, it was to be expected

“My tip: Five minutes or less to Tram stop Rich museum and Van Gogh museum are very close.”

    Great experience

The room was more luxurious than 3 stars hotels. The location is perfect - close to the I AMSTERDAM Square where we watch the match between Spain and Holland (1 5). It was exiting and very easy to get to the hotel.

    I did not see them.

“My tip: The park nearby and the square are the best - see them ”

Excellent location for museum trips and public transport.

Quad room was serviced each day and lots of fresh towels left. Breakfast was excellent continental style with ample choices. Located on quiet cul de sac street leading to massive park. Lift. Very good value for group of older ladies.

    Quad room,while not spacious,was adequate.

“My tip: Lots of varied priced eating places within short walking distance.”

    Good family stay

Very helpful staff, Able to leave luggage before and after check in and out. Staff printed e-vouchers for a museum visit.

“My tip: Laundrette two stops on the tram going away from the museums.”

    never again

    close to museum plein

4th floor is difficult to reach through the small staircase with bigger suitcases, we had amouse in the room, croissants at breakfast were rock hard, just like the mattresses, no ventilation in the bathroom so that firealarm went off when the steam of the bathroom came out, shower was either ice cold or boiling hot close to impossible to find a temperature in between.

good location, near to city center and possible to walk there in 20 minutes

very small rooms and bathroom, uncomfortable beds, no parking in the hotel, but possible to park in street near for 4eur/hour... We ordered room for 4 persons, actually it was small room for 3 persons with additional bed, as result all space in the room were consisting of beds...

We had water dripping into our showere from the one above and then had a mouse invade our room. The only compensation for these was two snickers bars! What a deal

Great location, decent price, clean room, uncomfortable beds.

The location of this hotel is fabulous in relation to the Museumplein and Leidseplein.

The beds were extremely uncomfortable. The beds were the only downfall, everything else was wonderful.

should consider, not the first choice though

Good location if you prefer to be closer to the Vondel Park rather than the Red Light Dist. Stayed in small double room. We were a couple travelling light, so there was no big deal room area wise, which is common in previous remarks. Vey close to the museums.

THE HOTEL DOOR DID NOT OPEN, which as usual is autosliding. People inside could not get out either. After 5 long minutes of waiting on the street with 6-8 other stayers the hotel receptionist showed up with a grin on his face and "voila" sliding doors open by means of pushing a secret button under the counter. The rest is fine with the hotel.

    Bog standard but good location

Location good. Close to trams and lovely Vondel park.

Bog standard, a bit tatty, room my wife and I we were in on 1st floor miniscule, less than standard width uncomfortable beds, no reception area for sitting/relaxing, breakfast very ordinary
