The ART Hotel is a uniquely decorated 4-star hotel in Rotterdam's modern area Kop van Zuid, a former harbour area. The hotel is located in the Queen of the South, a hotel/apartment complex that was built in 2004 and has a fantastic view of the old Maashaven harbour and the skyline of Rotterdam. Every room has its own unique character and all rooms are centred around an impressive open area that stretches out over the twelve lowest floors. The lounge area, with an open fireplace, is the perfect place to relax or enjoy a pleasant drink. The rooms and common areas are decorated with pieces of modern art, beautiful carpets, and antique as well as modern furniture. Guests will be amazed at the hotel's unique use of colour and the artistic interiors.
The hotel's services, however, will prove to be equally impressive. The 104 rooms (among which are 16 luxury suites) are each equipped with excellent facilities: guests will enjoy the use of internet, a safe, a hi-fi set and a television with DVD player. All rooms also have a completely equipped kitchenette with a Senseo coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator. In addition, the multilingual staff of the ART Hotel is at your service around the clock and guests can use the hotel's room service, laundry service, and complimentary newspaper.
The hotel is close to the convention and concert hall Ahoy and the Luxor Theatre. As such, those who go to see a show or concert in Rotterdam can end their day in style with a memorable night in the ART Hotel. The hotel is also right next to metro station Maashaven. The subway will take you to the inner city in just 5 minutes and also offers a good connection to the city's remaining areas.
Surroundings
The Art Hotel is situated in the area Rotterdam Zuid, an old harbour area that connects the northern and southern parts of the city. Next to the hotel is a metro station, so that you will have an excellent connection to the city centre, Central Station and the city's other areas. The Luxor Theatre and Ahoy convention/concert hall are close by, and guests can enjoy a nice walk along the old Maas harbour or the city's characteristic cable stayed bridge, the Erasmusbrug.
Food and Drink
Guests can enjoy a delicious contintental breakfast; available on weekdays from 06:30 until 10:00, and at weekends from 07:00 until 11:00. The hotel restaurant 'Thuis' serves the so-called 'New Dutch Kitchen'; typically Dutch dishes with pure Dutch ingredients offering the same unique and artistic ambience as the ART Hotel. The kitchen is open from Monday through Saturday from 17:00 until 22:00. The restaurant is closed on Sunday. You can enjoy a nice drink at the hotel bar and the nearby city centre offers a wide range of restaurants.

Interesting decor, very efficient, welcoming staff, car park security and route to rooms from car park very good.
Pleased that the restaurant stayed open until 22.00 but found the food and price a little disappointing

This is one of the most intriguing and beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. The attention to design throughout the hotel, from the quirky chandeliers in the restaurant, to the artful numbers on the doors and the eclectic furniture and design in the rooms, it is a wonderful experience. And the chef's surprise menu was fabulous. I wish I could stay here more often, or just visit for a meal.
I found no minus point about this hotel at all. Even the price was good value for money, given the high level of service, quality, and art of this hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who travels to Rotterdam.

Nice view over Rotterdam harbour (with room on west or north side of hotel). No nonsense hotel. Nice bathroom with bath and shower. Useful kitchenette, including refrigerator and senseo coffee machine and microwave, very practical for preparing your own breakfast or small meals. Close to Ahoy and underground just opposite.
Dirty windows blurred the view. Room rather warm (with windows closed) and quilt was abit short. Last year we had a cheaper double roon, which was much spacier and had an ever nicer view than the superior double room we had this year. Strange.

Design, furniture, coffee and kitchen facilities in room. Metro station just in front of the hotel. Nice and kind staff.
Location, in the suburban area, quite far from the city centre. Lights inside the room were too weak and during the night heating was too hot.
