Hotel
Hotel Manofa is situated on the lively Damrak, only a stone's throw away from Dam Square, the Kalverstraat shopping street and numerous other attractions making Amsterdam the unique city it is. The hotel combines 18th century elegance with contemporary comfort; a great choice for business travellers and tourists alike. The hotel has a variety of room types, most of which feature an ensuite bathroom. The basic rooms come with a shower and a toilet in the hallway. Irons, hair dryers and remote controls can be obtained at reception, where you'll also find free safety deposit boxes for guests.

Well for starters you could not get much closer to the center of Damrak if you tried and if you did your wallet would be a lot lighter. This is a classic case of paying for what you get if you don t pay much don t expect much. It suits the basic needs and while the roadworks on the tram lines outside the hotel didn t help in your conquest for sleep the all night party revelers also didn t help passing by the window but hey folks that Amsterdam and the reason why your staying there. Its cheap
Well that would be the noise level of the roadworks outside the hotel room until 04 00am in the morning and the noise of the all night revelers that could find there way back to their own hotels. But all beyond the control of the hotel
“My tip: Goto the sushi bar 3 doors down for a nice meal and wonderful selection, then the bar next door had sufficient beer to put a polar beer into winter hibernation but still the sound of a hammer drill was enough to even beat the alarm clock. ”

Good location. People at reception were friendly and helpful. Some female cleaners were friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was very poor. Some guests were making noise at 1.00 in the morning. No action were taken by hotel staff. One male cleaner in the hotel, was very rude. There was a queue to get a breakfast. Every morning he was jumping in front of everyone and forcing them to move by simply pushing them. On my comment “why don’t you get in a queue” he rudely responded and carried on taking the food. I’ve noticed he was doing it several times in the morning.
“My tip: Each member of staff can to be trained to be nice and polite.”

Nice staff.
The price was far too high - I have just been to Paris and booked a better hotel for half the prise. The breakfast very undelesious - the coffee was undrinkable. Lausi Wifi, the shower at our room was vary bad and the cleaning could be better espesially where you enter the hotel and the area between the floors.

Hotel has a convenient location, close to Central Station and Dam Square. It is easy to transport to airport and other Dutch cities. It also makes easy to trip city center.
Hotel has no elevator, not easy to carry your luggage !!! Rooms and bed is so small and not comfortable. To much noise from the street and also other guest makes hard to sleep !!!!

The people were very friendly. It was somewhat clean. If I was on budget like this time, I would stay there.
The workers were friendly but not infomative about rooms getting cleand everyday, clean towels everyday.(should be proud of it) No printer with computer. Not enough plugs for all the phone and electronics. very (too) steap stairs! It could be so dangerous if I had big suitcase.

Close to the main station. Clean room.
Steep and high stairs. Window was broken. I saw the same reviews about the window and apparently the hotel doesn't seem to mind having a broken window. Being a female on my own it felt very insecure The room has a weird smell!

Location was near the train station and the river as well as central Amsterdam. The staff were helpful and tried to accommodate us when we asked for a room change, but the rest of the rooms were in about the same condition.
The room was tiny with 2 bed and a sink in the room... THAT IS ALL. This is more like a hostel than a hotel for the price of a hotel. The shower and toilet must be shared with the floor and for part of our stay the shower was not working. There are patch marks on the walls and it is VERY noisy at night. There is no elevator and the rooms have a severe lack of personal space.

It is in the centre of Amsterdam.
Bathroom smelled faul and the rooms are pretty ugly looking. Breakfast was very poor and the restaurant was untidy.

It's in the middle of everything, which is great!
The hotel was realy low budget accomodation! Ideal if you only want a place to crash for the night, but I think it's very expensive for a room without a window you can open for fresh air! Oh, and we had another occupant... a mouse.

Good reception. Could leave bags before checking in, and after checking out (not in secure storage, however). Good breakfast.
Hotel was in a process of redecoration and possibly refurbishment. My room did not appear to be finished in this respect. Building work next door meant noise started early. Only single-glazed.
