Summer at the Vondel Park is a true delight. The free open-air concerts and tranquil environment are inviting and offer comfort for business-related visits as well as the casual trip. At a small distance of the hotel you will find the 'Leidseplein' with its many restaurants, cafés and bars. In addition to this, the 'Museumplein' is easily reached and offers a wide variety of cultural activities. There is the 'Stedelijk Museum', 'Rijksmuseum' and 'Van Gogh Museum' to visit and in addition the refreshing Heineken Museum.

Shop fanatics will certainly be delighted by what the renowned 'P.C. Hoofdstraat' has to offer. The cosy narrow streets, with a wide variety of boutiques offer something for everyone. Most of the areas of interest can be reached on foot, but public transport in Amsterdam is excellent. There is always a tram within reach, which will take you to your destination even faster.

Really friendly, great location
  • + Nice sized room. Nice big shower room. Really close to Leidesplein and tram stop. Quiet street. TV with German and English channels. Really helpful staff. Had a safe, even though the description did not mention this.
  • – Breakfast not included and cost €10 - overpriced for what it was.
  • * my tip Bring conditioner. They only provide shampoo/body wash.

One of the best small hotels in Amsterdam
  • + Great location. Very friendly and helpful front desk staff! My room was quiet and clean with a nice view onto a small courtyard behind the hotel. The breakfast was good and reasonably priced (10 Euros).

Great hotel in a great location.
  • + The service at Hotel Alexander was exceptional - they helped me find everything, were easy going, and knowledgable. It is also very close to 3 of the major museums (Rijksmuseum, Stajdlik (sp?), and Van Gogh) and one of the central squares for going out (day or night): Liedseplien.
