A hotel with all the basics you need.

Good location as situated by the main railway station, also a walking distance to the city centre. Friendly staffs, good restaurant, comfortable room. It is idea for the business and other traveller.

Internet connection can be imporved and the charges to use the PC in the lobby is high which not suitable for using short time. Kettle in my room can not reach the plug while it is on the table.

Location, service and charm!

I really enjoyed my stay in the hotel. my husband and I stayed for one night in the newest decorated rooms and they were very charming and classy. great location. Seeing as my husbamd had crutches with him and was still recovering after a knee surgery, the receptionist recommended a good room on the ground floor and which had an easy acess to the shower. Very good service and great location.

It was still some finishing touches on the room that could have been done properly, like missing lightbolbs, no remote control for the tv, dust in the corners of the room, missing drawers from the desk. It all gave us an impression that it looked superficially nice. But in fact there were many "little" things that should have been sorted better. Very cold room as weel. Facing the street. Not very good insolation. - toilet /bathroom was built in a box so it gave an impression of being in an "out-house".

Ok, but not very satisfactory

It is a very old and quaint hotel. Some improvement could be done, since I did not feel very comfortable upon entering the building. I felt rather unsafe. The room itself was ok, bathroom also. Within pricerange I would say it was alright.

Not a safe evironment and the whole building did not look very appealing to me. I was rather glad to be out of there.

Shift handover procedure should be developed

Location to central Maastricht is good whilstz being out of the central business district

The night/Late shift should ensure that when items are not functional, this should be reported to the day shift. The parking barrier did not work and when I asked the reception in the morning if it was fixed, they did not know of the problem. Thuis caused me some delay as I waited for the technician with the key and methgod to open the barrier.

Ga zo door !

Perfekte zaak , alles lekker schoon en ruim. Geen benauwde muffe hokjes zoals in zoveel hotels. Ontbijt is incl. en je kunt ook nog makkelijk parkeren wat elders in Maastricht een groot probleem is. Wij komen terug !

Locatie pal aan het onze lieve vrouweplein en het was er schoon.

Dit hotel zou 4 sterren hebben. Nou dat is volledig onterecht. Er zit geen ontbijt bij, in de koelkast lag een gebroken fles, de gordijnen waren kapot en er was een hele kleine televisie die heel hoog was gemonteerd, zodat de afstand tot het bed het nog kleiner maakte. Bovendien was het parket niet goed gelegd waardoor er een grote spleet zat.

Good Location

Reception employees seemed nice in the beginning, but on the first problem they became very aggressive. The hotel was smelly. I wanted to cancel my last day and after a loooooooong discussion the smart receptionist said you booked online then take your money online, although I paid at the hotel!!!!!!! They kept saying we can't give you your money, and I had to stay one more day against my will. Don't recommend it at all

The interior decoration of the public areas is lovely and promising for a good stay.But...

Entered the toilet area to find it unflushed. The entire bathroom smelled very strongly from the water pipes--highly unpleasant the entire stay. Shower gave NO hot or warm water! If you are a reader, forget it, as there is not lamp even near the head of the bed! I was in Rm 25 and was kept awake by rumbling noises from above and other guests' rooms doors. On the whole an unpleasant stay and not to be recommended at all.

Everything we wanted!

Great design, marvellous beds and really friendly and helpful staff. The free hot soup (homemade tomato) and warm croissants were just what we needed after a long drive up through the snow from Chamonix.

A couple of little snags such as no shaving mirror for short (and shortsighted) blokes like me who prefer a traditional razor to an electric one, loose controls on the shower/bath and no mat in the toilet so your feet got cold.

De Stadswal is located in the old city centre of Maastricht, within walking distance of the <i>St. Servaas</i> basilica and the <i>Vrijthof</i> square. The hotel is established in the back of a lovely old mansion. The building still houses many foundations, that belong to the <i>Tweebergenpoort</i>, the old entrance gate to Maastricht.

Midden in het centrum, heerlijk ontbijt (8,-), rustig en stil, mooi uitzicht over de oude stadswal, goede en vriendelijke service en behulpzaamheid, lekkere bedden,

Tv bleek het niet te doen, kreeg geen stroom. Waarschijnlijk nog niet aangesloten omdat hotel net geopend is, nog niet alles was 100% af. Maar eigenlijk een te verwaarlozen punt, Maastricht is mooi genoeg om niet op je kamer tv te willen kijken!

Gezellig verblijf in hartje Mestreech

Goede ontvangst door gastheer en gastvrouw met thee en bonbons Net nieuw: al het sanitair is spiksplinter nieuw en (dus) erg schoon Hele goede locatie; op kruipafstand van het Vrijthof NB: de kerkklokken die eerder genoemd werden in een recensie zijn 's nachts muisstil... (deze worden niet geluid tussen 23.00 en 8.00u!)

Gezamelijke (ontbijt) ruimte is (nog) niet erg gezellig: we verwachten dat dit in de toekomst zal veranderen, nu de kamers af zijn.

Downtown location used by many tourists and students who made noise up to 5:00 in the morning, so sleep was interrupted many times. More a problem for summer than winter, since the lack of air conditioning forced us to keep the windows open.
