Good but not excellent due to a few small, but important details.

My wife and I like the ambiance. Quality/price real good. Location excellent ( I was borne and raised about 2 kms away from there and used to play in that area a lot).

-You used to serve some nice sparkling wine (champagne-like) at arrival but stopped doing that recently. That is a pity: re-instate the habit!. -You spent a lot of money doing up the bathrooms: excellent! What a huge pity that you just did not go that little extra kilometer and installed thermostatic taps in the shower/bath. You know more than anybody else about the problems with hot/cold water in hotels, especially in the morning and you passed up the opportunity to get rid of that by some 90% by not investing that 150 euro per room. To me that is the difference between a 7 and a 9 - The bath tubs are excellent shape and size, but slippery: dangerous for everybody but especially for elderly persons. Please do something about it so as not to destroy an otherwise excellent effort.

The Bel Air Hotel is conveniently located between Scheveningen and Den Haag. Baby friendly

Very pleasant staff, only too happy to help with any request. The baby cot we had requested was not in our room when we arrived, but upon seeing the baby, the staff member at reception ordered one immediately and it was promptly delivered. High chairs were also available in the breakfast restaurant. Breakfast was delicious. Room was quiet. Very clean and comfortable.

Fantastic weekend deal for what is clearly a business hotel. If you can get a deal which includes buffet breakfast you won't regret it.

Not in the centre of the city and not much to see locally if you are on foot. There is a tram line outside the hotel which will take you anywhere or (like us) you can walk into the centre in 15 mins

Very nice hotel, strongly recommend it!

Very nice hotel with good location, where you can walk to most of famous places. The hotel provide a map with very detailed instruction. you only need to follow it!

We booked two rooms, one arranged at 2nd floor which is very nice, and the other one at 4th floor on the top of the building which is half-roof and very low for 1/3 of space.

Great business hotel

The room was very well equipped and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. Generous, fresh, and well prepared. Location right next to train station a plus, yet the rooms were still silent. Staff was very pleasant. Would definitely stay there again or recommend.

No wifi in rooms, and no business center (though ostensibly one could ask hotel staff to assist with printing, copying, etc.)

The hotel was fine. Lobby nice and spacious. The food good and variety of selected food.

The carpet in the halls (I stayded on the 1st floor) of the hotel were dirty with stains and looked therefore cheap which is a contrast with the rest of the hotel (****star) and the hotelrooms. Changing the carpet to a color which mathes the beige walls and red doors of the hotelrooms would look better and more distinguished.

Fantastic in all respects. Never ever again, I had my worst week ever in this hotel

The only good point about this hotel is its location.

Hygiene? they dont know what it means. I was sick for 3 days after eating fish and prawn in the resturant. I told one of the staff and he just said "sorry, I'll inform the kitchen!). I was vomitting for two days and had headache for 4 days after having that dinner in my room. Moreover, they seem not to change the linen and towels everyday. The double bed was just two single beds next to each other! One day I was looking for TV remote and finally I found it in my bed under the bed cover!

5 star hotel with a 3 star feel

Location

Internet not working (wireless and in room computer), air conditioning fan on balcony outside room (very loud), Pay TV not working correctly, bar closed for re-modeling, small bathroom, iron board broken, no travel plugs available, booked double room and got twin, towels / robe for 1 person only, expensive car park, very basic room decoration, dull concrete balcony, dusty furniture, breakfast auto added to bill, etc etc etc. Basically this hotel had many 'small faults' that should not be an issue in a "5 star" hotel and so many minor issues added up to a rather expensive and unimpressive stay.

located well in the outskirts but with good tramlines/buslines to the citycentre. Friendly staff but NO Management. Breakfast quality is GOOD.

I stayed for 6 nights# 75 Euro (incl breakfast) Rooms NO TELEFONE, NO TISSUE paper, NO WASTEBASKET in ROOM, NO Coffee/thee hotpot. On 7 Nov I returned at 700 PM my room was still dirty !!!. the day I left ( 9Nov) there was NO BREAKFAST until 0830 AM. Usually ready at 0800 Overal impression: POOR, lack of management. Will not stay there anymore.

As travellers from England we were suprised to find guests smoking in the bar and public areas. Our first room was directly off a corridor above the bar which smelt of smoke. Once this was explained to the staff we were quickly given another room which we were very happy with. I believe the laws are to change in Holland July 2008...

Historic looks with modern comfort

Great hotel to stay at while visiting The Hague. I had a nice airy room, great bed and the breakfast buffet is nice. I had a room on the front side of the hotel, no traffic noise due to the just replaced windows I learned. I stayed in the hotel for business purposes and therefore the free WiFi was a big plus.

Perfect location and nice design

It was really clean, VERY well located, great design inside, optional breakfast available, great comfort and space in the room, not noisy, TV available, clean and new towels and bed sheets, nice heating, not bureaucratic.

We stayed on the 3rd floor and the steps are in the spiral DNA-like shape, so it is VERY hard to get upstairs with heavy luggage. Staff were helpful enough to offer assistance on this, but when we asked about restaurant recommendations we they couldn't provide any advice whatsoever.

no lift and only a narrow winding staircase. this was dangerous for anyone carrying large and / or heavy suitcases up to, or down from their room. this is how service could be improved - having someone who could help with this. only reception staff were available. also, breakfast was not included.

Good service, average hotel.

Service was really good, location also. You could walk easily to the centre and a nearby big supermarket. The area Zeeheldenkwartier is worth seeing too.

The rooms are quite old, TV wasn't working properly and we had some trouble connecting to internet. Breakfast could've been included to the price, it was expensive even though good.
