Restaurant La Rive is an experience in its own class. The French-Mediterranean kitchen, crowned with a Michelin star offers tasteful international dishes. From La Rive you have a beautiful view of the River Amstel. The restaurant is open Tuesday to Friday for lunch and dinner, Saturday for dinner only. La Rive is closed on Sunday and Monday. The restaurant seats 40 guests.
The Amstel Bar and Brasserie is open daily from 08:00 to 23.30h. In the Amstel lounge, light meals or an afternoon tea can be enjoyed accompanied by the magnificent view of the river. Boat trips on one of the antique salon boats with (or without) dinner can be organised at the hotel.
Throughout the hotel you can enjoy a lovely breakfast: in La Rive restaurant, the Amstel Lounge, at the pool in the Health Club or in the privacy of your own room. In the Amstel Hotel they offer the option for a petit déjeuner à la carte, which contains specialties from all over the world. - One of the two best hotels I call it a home away from home
- Warm receptions from everybody starting from your doorman to reception always make me feel I am coming home. I have stayed in many hotels around the world in my life including other Inter-Continental group hotels but I only have two hotels which I like the most and always feel at home there. The other is the Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong.

- The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, the breakfast was great, we had a lovely room overlooking the canal, a lovely stay.
The leisure facilites are very luxurious too.
- The only minus point is that it is very expensive, would love to know if you do any weeekend packages or 'deals'.

- Na een vraag over de rozen, kregen wij het boeket 's avonds om 23.00 uur nog wel op de kamer.
- -Het boeket rozen stond niet op de kamer zoals ik had gevraagd.
- Zeer karig ontbijtbuffet voor dit soort klasse hotel en voor de prijs van 25.00 euro maar absolute minpunt was dat voor een gekookt eitje daarnaast ook nog eens apart moest worden betaald. Dit was voor ons een koude douche helaas.

- Wij hebben van een heerlijk weekend genoten in het gastvrije Amstel
- Zeer gastvrij en gastvriendelijk. Schoon. Servicegericht. Leuke Kerstsfeer in het hotel.
Wij maken graag nog eens gebruik van uw hotel.
- Helaas niet standaard een gekookt ei bij het ontbijt (roomservice).
De verwarming viel uit 's nachts (fout waarschijnlijk door mij zelf veroorzaakt met het centrale kastje) helaas kregen we het zelf niet meer voor elkaar de verwarming aan te krijgen en hebben dit 's ochtends door de manager laten doen.Het was een koude nacht, maar nogmaals dit was waarschijnlijk een fout van onszelf.

- wij hadden er meer van verwacht
- het hotel straalt een zekere status uit zowel binnen als buiten. Het persooneel is zeer vriendelijk.Het zwembad is ook zeer aangenaam en mooi...
- De kamer die wij hebben gehad vonden we tegenvallen. Over smaak valt natuurlijk te twisten maar het interieur vonden we dramatisch en dan hebben we het nog niet eens gehad over het behang en de staat van het tapijt... Brrrr...Zo ook is de staat van het gebouw heel slecht dit kun je ondermeer zien als je het raam opendoet. De kozijnen en het raam en het houtwerk van het gebouw zijn kapot,half vergaan en zeer beschadigd. Dit is op zn zachts gezegd natuurlijk niet in verhouding met de prijs die er gevraagd wordt.

- Indrukwekkend hotel wat grotendeels waar maakt waarvoor het staat. Mooie locatie en een goede uitstraling.
- Een groot minpunt is het bad in de hotelkamer. Het baden met z'n 2en is bijna onmogelijk omdat de kraan aan het voeteneinde is geplaatst.

Maaltijden in het restaurant zijn erg goed.
Doordat het hotel erg prijzig is en er vrijwel nooit aanbiedingen zijn, hangt er in het hotel een fijne en exclusieve sfeer.
In het zwembad heb je mooi uitzicht over de Amstel.
Ik heb in alle Amsterdamse 5 sterren hotels verbleven, maar deze is zonder twijfel de beste!
- Voor het ontbijt moet je (flink) betalen (op zich niet erg), maar wil je wat extra's zoals een eitje of een wafel moet je daar weer een tientje voor bijbetalen. Beetje raar.
In kom vaak in de beste hotels ter wereld en ben erachter gekomen hoe duurder het hotel is, je moet werkelijk voor alles bijbetalen. Maar hierdoor in het hotel wel voorbehouden aan een select publiek. Maar dit kleine minpuntje kan niet opwegen tegen de vele pluspunten!
