Description
The monumental building in which Hotel Arena is situated has served different purposes since it was founded in 1890. In the early years it was used as a Catholic orphanage and later on as a home for the elderly. In the eighties of the 20th century it was transformed into a youth hostel. Renowned designers were attracted to participate in the renovation. The end result is visible: the building has been transformed into a modern hotel that is full of character. On top of that it is now also used for all kinds of international and local cultural events.
Hotel Arena is a unique concept that combines hotel accommodation with a bar, club, conference halls and a restaurant, called respectively: TOSTAY, TODRINK, TONIGHT, TOMEET and TODINE. Its unique character can also be noticed in the hotel rooms, which are all different in shape and size. The rooms are all equipped with a private bathroom, television, a direct-dial phone and a safe. The interior is a nice mixture of designer furniture, wooden floors, authentic elements and warm shades of colour.
The hotel has a private parking area and is therefore easy to reach. There are good connections to the city centre, but the eastern part of the city centre also has a lot to offer. The green Oosterpark is worth a visit as well as Artis Zoo, which is the oldest zoo in Europe. A lovely walk will take you to the lively Rembrandtplein, where you can enjoy a fun night out in the restaurants, bars and clubs that are located here. Frequent tram and bus connections will take you to the heart of town quickly, where you can discover numerous museums and cultural sights. The Stedelijk Museum, Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum are also easy to reach by tram. If you prefer a nice walk, then you will love the green surroundings in this part of town.
Food and Drinks
Throughout the day you can visit TODRINK, this spacious bar is tastefully decorated. In the morning you can wake up with you own selection of the lovely continental breakfast buffet. This bar has an adjacent outside terrace and offers you a perfect location for lunch, dinner, cocktails and tapas.
The menu of TODINE offers a combination of surprising international dishes as well as traditional Dutch delicacies. Its luxurious interior is accompanied by a warm and intimate atmosphere. On sunny days you can enjoy dinner on one of the two beautiful outside terraces.

Surroundings
Hotel Arena is situated in the eastern part of Amsterdam city centre. In the vicinity you will find the Tropenmuseum and Artis Zoo. The city centre can easily be reached as well. Several tramlines can take you to the centre within 10 minutes, although a lovely walk is still the best way to admire Amsterdam in its full glory.
