Summer at the 'Vondelpark' is a true delight. Whilst listening to open air concerts you can enjoy a drink or snack at the cosy Vertigo Café. The 'Vondelpark' offers a wide variety of opportunities for recreation and relaxation, but the lively inner city is close by as well. Anonymous Pleasant budget hotel near the Vondel Park: 17 September 2011; 8.4; + Clean, comfortable, friendly and helpful staff, good internet access, pleasant location, nice breakfast buffet; - I would not want to stay in the "basement" floor, downstairs from reception -- smells badly of sewage. I was on the floor above reception and this was just fine.

David Wall: 3 January 2011; 8.0; + Location: Excellent. Staff more than friendly. Room was surprisingly pleasant, nothing amazing but suitable for use. Cleaning staff wonderful.; - Volume carries in the hotel and the noise from corridors very clear. Probably a bit expensive, but that was to be expected over the new year.

Anonymous Great location but a little on the expensive side!: 9 November 2010; 5.0; + Good location, situated very close to Museumplein and central amsterdam easy to reach. staff are friendly, although central the hotel is quiet with very little noise from the street; - I found the hotel too expensive from what you actually get. Room was very small. Shower head was broken, with the result it fell a number of times - irritating as you can imagine! i asked for a second pillow and was shocked when I was told they don't actually have any!! Have never come across that before. We left our luggage in the hotel after checking out as we were leaving that evening and it cost 3 euro per bag, also somewhat surprising given the cost of the hotel.

Comfortable beds.; - Poor lighting. Unhelpful night staff (the guys). Broken things (lights, no handle on armoire, trash can, no info on phone use) . I would not stay there in hot weather. There was no cross breeze.

PILAR MUNERA COZY HOTEL NEXT TO VONDELPARK: 3 March 2010; 8.4; + VERY NEAR VAN GOGH MUSEUM AND RIJKSMUSEUM, AND NEXT TO THE BEAUTIFUL VONDELPARK. VERY KIND AND HELPFUL RECEPCIONISTS. VERY CLEAN.; - CHECK-IN TIME VERY LATE (3.00PM!!). THE BEDS AND THE PILLOWS WERE NOT VERY COMFORTABLE TO ME -VERY SOFT.

Quiet, clean and classy area of Amsterdam and only a short tram ride into the city centre. Excellent value for money relative to other more central hotels. Will defo stay here again.; - Limited breakfast options and much had run out later in the breakfast service but only a very minor annoyance.

erik Avoid the breakfast!!: 6 September 2009; 6.6; + location is great. easy booking.; - Small room not quite worth the price. DO NOT GET THE BREAKFAST! Just pop out for a way way better breakfast outside, don't be tempted by the easy stay-in breakfast, way overpriced and not at all good. Terrible coffee,unheard of in a country of great cafes. If you are more than 2 people, see the room before signing on.

Kafrebo Helaas niet meer aan te raden!: 22 August 2009; 6.2; + Goede lokatie naast het Vondelpark. Goede tramverbindingen.; - Ik kom in dit Hotel sinds 12 jaren. Nu is er een nieuwe chef. Die heeft geen idee hoe hij oude klanten bindt. Moest vooruit betalen!!!Verder kost nu het opslaan van bagage 3 Euro/koffer/uur. Ronduit schandalig. Bovendien hebben ze sinds maanden overlast van lawaai wegens bouwwerkzaamheden.

M. Not really satisfied: 10 May 2009; 4.0; + personnel was friendly and kind; - the room was by far worse than expected by looking at pictures on internet. Television was not working. telephone was not working (and was replaced. A squeezed insect was on the wall when I arrived and still there when i left; cleaning service forgot my door open all day (I found it open when i returned in the evening). Reception forgot a wake up call..

Craig Sheil Pleasant stay, nice area.: 7 April 2009; 7.6; + Nice place right next to the Vondelpark, top floor room had very nice view of this. Hot water, tea and coffee facilities and a decent bed. Tram runs directly outside to the centre every 10 minutes. Nice helpful staff and 24 hour access made for a good stay.; - Not really any complaints bathroom maybe a bit small but did the job.

No 2 tram stops right in front of the hotel, great for access to the centre of town.; - Expensive breakfast if not included - go to one of the cafes nearby.

Elizabeth G. Memorable stay in Amsterdam: 10 August 2008; 9.4; + I was stranded in Amsterdam an extra day because of an airline problem. I needed another hotel room for the night so I returned to the Atlas Hotel to ask if they had an available room. Unfortunately, they did not but they called their sister Hotel blocks away and found me a 4 star room at a affordable price. After finding me a room they transported me by taxi to the hotel at their expense! That is what I call service!

Helen Cockerill: 3 July 2008; 10; + Staff were perfect. Welcoming, efficient and extremely helpful. The location made it easy to access all areas of Amsterdam either on foot or via tramway. We would definitely consider returning for another stay.; - The room was very warm with only a fan for cooling, provision of air-conditioning would be be a welcome addition. A mini-fridge to keep thirsty guests' water/squashes cold would also be a bonus.Too many stairs for disabled.

LOURDEAU: 1 June 2008; 8.6; + Pretty and beautiful house near Vondelpark. Tram "at the door". Very quiet and cosy.Pleasant decoration and greedy and copious breakfast. Personnel pleasant and available.; - Room "underground" without view et very dark. Taps of the shower and the wash-hand basin are too old and not thermostatics and the board of the WC's bassin is moving.

Delicious breakfast, unfortunately not included. I would stay here again. Nice neighborhood and very close to tram stop to the center of the city. Lots of restaurants in the area easily accessible at the end of the day.; - Sometimes we could smell cigarette smoke in our room, (I think it traveled up the stairs and under the door). Cigarette smoking in general all over Amsterdam, is excessive especially at meals in restaurants. A non smoking area would be a great first step in making the city more comfortable for non smokers. As well, within the room, more hooks, towel racks or shelf space would be very useful.

Quiet location (the hotel is not on a main traffic street, but is 100 m away from public transportation and it is anyway in the main museums part of town).; - No free internet, wireless available, but to be paid separately

Shami Ostrovsky: 3 March 2008; 9.0; + Great pleasant hotel, with kind service and tastful design. Located few TRAM stops from the main center and 15 minutes ride from the central station itself. If you are pre-ordering ask for the room at the top floor so you will be able to enjoy the scenary as well.

Anonymous: 6 January 2008; 8.8; + The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. When we complained about the noise from the room next door we were moved straight away. The location of hotel is excellent.; - The double bed (which I had requested) consisted of two matresses put together and two single quilt covers. This was most uncomfortable.
