Anonymous Fantastic Hotel with free parking & breakfast accessible by free f
8.8
+ Free car parking, free breakfast, room was basic but still very clean and comfortable, free ferry to/from Central Station, free minibus to and from ferry stop after midnight (run by Botel), amazing view of Amsterdam skyline from bedroom window at night, free minibus and ferry to/from Botel to Cental Amsterdam
- noisy radiators if turned up high (made a gurgling sound), shower didn't drain fast enough so one stood in 4 inches of dirty water whilst showering! Botel is located on the north of the river Ij, so ferry journey is necessary to get from Botel to the main city. The ferry leaves from right next to the Botel and runs until midnight. After which a minibus runs all night to another ferry stop. Ferry & minibus are completely free of charge but extra travel may be considered an inconvenience for
Jolanda Botterman Quirky, clean, comfortable, great location and fab breakfast
9.4
+ Yhe breakfast was fabulaous and very good value The free ferry was a definite plus
Anonymous Great low-cost experience
9.4
+ the staff was extraordinary nice

Anette Glesner Cheap and clean
6.0
+ It was cheep and the view of the habour was cosy.
- It looked old and there was holes in the towels. Internet is very expensive, it costes 6 euro pr hour. To far away from the city center.
joanne stevenson We really enjoyed our weked break here
8.6
+ everything was clean breakfast was all you could eat
- bar was hard to get a drink in at times
Anonymous An expensive cheap hotel..
4.2
+ Price was alright. Not too difficult to get to. Free ferry is pretty handy.
- Requested a double bed when booking but was given two single beds that weren't that comfortable. Boat woke us up several times during the night due to rocking and strange banging holiday. This is not a place to bring your girlfriend.
Anonymous Basic but I liked it, I would go back again
6.2
+ I liked it, it suited our purpose, we just wanted somewhere to use as a base and to relax. It was a bit of a hassle to get the ferry to and from the city centre(although there was always plenty of them), but in a way added to the experience.
- Breakfast was a bit to basic.
Michel parmain Real perfect
10
+ car park free
- none
Marina Carlucci
7.6
+ very clean, close to pubblic transportations.
- rooms really small.
Herman van der Merwe A GREAT hotel experience on the Botel in Amsterdam
9.0
+ 't was great
- Access. Dependancy on a ferry - especially on Sundays and public holidays
Pablo Good location, but needs better maintenance
5.4
+ Public ferry service from the hotel to Central Station in downtown Amsterdam is great and runs frequently.
- The rooms are painted light green, like a hospital room. Hotel looks a bit outdated.
Susanna Good cost/performance ratio
7.0
+ absolutely worth its money the free ferry that brings you to the central station within 15 minutes
reza I will remember it both with the style and the movings!
7.0
+ the style as a boat. the location is great (easy access to central station by free ferries). also we liked the breakfast.
- if you have problems with boats moving on water forget this hotel. imagine staying on a boat which is moving all the time.
Markus
8.8
+ Hotels own night bus from harbour to the hotel.
Anonymous Tutta apparenza!
4.2
Anonymous Nice and practical
8.6
+ There is free ferry that takes you directly to the central station. Breakfast included in the price
- We asked for double room but had twin room and it was not possible to change it.
Petr Good connection to city center, free parking
7.4
+ good transport connection to the city center; free parking
Sandrine Plaze First time is Amsterdam
5.2
+ Really nice breakfast, really enjoyed that. The location is great too.
- The rooms are average for £100 Euros a night you expect something else. We could hear the people next door, was a bit noisy. The receptionist gave us a wrong info who costed us a taxi.
David FOR GOODNESS SAKE GET NEW TV SETS
6.6
+ I have been using this hotel for some years now and I feel that now the Botel has moved I feel it is a better place to stay, the 10 min ferry trip enhances the Amsterdam experiance, however it was sunny during my visit, I am not sure I would feel the same way if it had been raining. However because of its new location there seems to be less groups of rowdy men on stag holidays and more mature couples.
- This hotel is almost always full so surely they make enough money to replace the grubby, shabby, very small broken down televisions.
OULALIT MOHAMED The amstel botel hotel is only for sleeping, not more...
5.0
+ The brekfast was very good The receptionist was very professional
- The room was too small There bad isolation between the rooms (noise) the industrial place around the hotel
Darren Oliver Basic but adequate, perfect location for those driving
6.8
+ Great place to stay if you are driving, free parking and ferry takes you directly to central station. return ferry and shuttle bus runs all night.Breakfast was good staff all seemed friendly and helpful.
- Despite now being a non smoking hotel the room reeked of cigarettes, as a smoker i wasn't too bothered non smokers would find it offensive, if i'm brutal I would say it lucky to be rated three star room was basic and toilet / shower room are best described as very compact but overall no real complaints.
Damien Frost 2* not 3*
6.0
+ Great location as I was working near by across the way.
- No hot water in the morning which was quite shocking in more ways than one. The room really smelled of smoke. I would not class the Botel as 3* more like 2*
welsh Goood-but could be so much better.
7.0
+ The new location requires determination to reach but, in my view, it is more attractively-positioned and thus is a big improvement on the last one. The juke box selection has lost a lot of its past unique qualities but remains a pleasant facility.
- The bathroom facilities are too cramped. The breakfast selection is boringly repetitive and of mediocre quality. The bar could be much, much better: it is, mostly, seemingly run for the convenience of the bar staff rather than guests towards the end of the night.
M. Stuart Okay
6.6
+ The price of the hotel was good for Amsterdam.
- The room was small and the TV was very small.
Anna-Britta Svedlund Value for money
8.4
+ The location was perfect for us. Good price performance.
- Some of the reception staff didn't or couldn't understand english sp well. They referred all questions to someone els.
susannah Great Hotel, brilliant service, shame about the location!
8.2
+ the rooms are really cosy, the staff provide an excellent service, everything is very clean. The breakfast is good and the bar snacks were tasty and very convenient.
- too far from the city centre, the ferry service is good and easy but a bit of a hassle. There isn't much close to the boat.
malcolm hockin Very enjoyable stay
9.0
+ good food freeferry service nice bar friendly service.
- when booked i thought the botel was situated by oosterdock it took a little longer to reach the botel where it is docked now but it has not put me off
Mr D G Clark Great three day break
8.4
+ Courtesy and sevice was superb.
Amitabh Its ok. I might stay here again
6.8
+ the price
- the location
welsh Now overpriced but still nicely different from other Amsterdam hotels.
5.2
+ Idiosyncratic location and style of hotel.
- Now more difficult to get to. Breakfast range remains very limited. Bar seems to be run for the benefit of staff not customers. bathrooms very cramped.
Rachad In my opinion
7.0
+ calm
- location
MONTALDO, Helene Great experience
7.2
+ Loved the location of the Botel.
- Late arrival of other guests was very rowdy and disruptive. Finding suitable food venues without travelling into Amsterdam was difficult.
Mrs C.M.Dunn Yet another great visit to this wonderful floating Hotel.
7.4
+ The breakfast provided was exceptional and the choice excellent. Also the staff on duty at the reception were very helpful and knowlegable about the area and the hotel and local activities. The bar was very friendly. The free shuttle bus is also a very good plus point for the clients.
- More information should be placed on all web sites as regards this botel re:- the free ferry to the botel and the free shuttle bus. Also more should be done as regards late arrivals to the botel regarding meal availability and the early closing of the bar. [ late meaning arrival after 22.00hrs from the airport] This has now happened on some three occasions to us at the botel.
Thomas Kirstein Super boat, we love to come back
9.0
+ very helpfull staff, and free films:)

+ My daughter and I feel very confortable and for sure we will come again to enjoy the great service and the familiarity that is perceived in this special hotel. Mr. Jose and Mr. Neil at the reception were very kindly and friendly. We are very grateful, See you soon.
Anonymous Enjoyable stay
8.0
+ Staff firendly and helpful. Great view of submarine. Even though botel is situated away from centre, free ferry and late night shuttle bus is great. Indiana Jones pinball machine
- Could not pop Indiana Jones
mitchell Seven out of ten.

Pauline Gooden Miss
6.2
+ Breakfast included in price
- Location Botel has moved to
Francis & Steve Location- Location - Location - shame about the location
5.6
+ The staff were very helpful at all times, from the efficient friendly reception, bar staff and dining room personel. We liked the way that although all the necessary work was being done to make our stay as good as possible, the staff were not in any way obtrusive, they quietly and professionally attended to their duties- Your People are you greatest asset!. The quantity and quality of food available was good and the times for breakfast to be served was perfect for our needs. Waking up on the water- is really nice - something different to the ordinarry. The cabins (rooms) were private quiet and clean.
- We had booked our stay based on knowing that the Hotel was located in the heart of the city, before we booked we checked out on GOOGLE to conpare it with other Land based Hotels- and it was clear the Hotel was positioned favourably and compared well for price. When we arrived we went to the Dock on the GOOGLE MAP only to find the Hotel was not located there. We spent over an hour walking around and asking people where the Hotel was. We were eventually directed to the Ferry unfortunately the information given led us to get on the wrong FERRY which we had to returk on to finally take the correct one. We mention this to the receptionist who pointed out the address on our booking email (as if we would know the location- this was not so helpfull especially after a longer than planed for journy) Although we were impressed at the FERRY service the extra time required to travel too and from the Hotel was inconvienient and took too much time from our priorities- We had made all our plans based on being in a CENTRAL location and had to adjust our short break to fit in with the New location. Whatever the reason for the relocation it was not what we had expected or hoped for. WE would not do this for our next visit unless the Hotel is returned to a Central position. The level of Hygene was good, however a coat of paint on the wood work would improve the overall appearance. No hot drinks facility in the rooms and only one pillow each, the addition of these would have helped
P & M Great experience!
7.2
+ We, husband/wife (60) had a great time in A'dam. Staying on board Amstel Botel was a novelty which we enjoyed. The 'other' side of A'dam we found most interesting. Having to cross the river by ferry to get to our accommodation was an added bonus. All staff, or should I say crew, we encountered were friendly and courteous. Breakfast was more than adequate. "Luxury rooms" the cabins were not, but who cares when bobbing on the water, enjoying great views of the city and lots of water traffic. I would have no problem to book again.

+ Quiet at night. Reception staff seemed friendly enough
- location not great since move to north side, even with free ferry. Breakfast choice poor. Room very small, esp bathroom and bed incredibly uncomfortable. TV remote did not work.

7.6
+ easy ferry transport. good breakfast. good hard mattress.
- no shower floor towel. size of tv. hard bed frame (ouch!). no free wifi. couldn´t hit golf balls off of the roof.
mick nice hotel, good location, some miserable staff.
6.0
+ The new location is, though harder to get to and from, in keeping with the Boat-nature of the Botel and, to my mind, is an improvement. Great juke-box. Joseph, the night watchman from Cape Verdes, remains a kind and re-assuring presence.
- The bar, depending on the professionalism of the staff member on duty (and one barman is extremely lazy as well as anti-social), can be very cold in character. The pillows aren't very comfortable.
