+ comfy beds and pillows, beautifull varied breakfast. nice surroundings and furishings. excellent service use of pc and printer. toiletries a plus toothpaste would be nice and i didnt get the ironing board as promised i hadnt ironed my clothes thought it was in room, good selection in mini bar

- my bathroom small, for the room i paid for superior big piece missing off the window ledge in rom 201 rather noisey even with ear plugs provided. not enough tea sugar and coffee in rooms milk would be nice with p.g tips tea bags mini bar too pricey didnt eat in restaurant too pricey or order room service for this reason.

- Noisy at night. Two single beds pushed tgether instead of a double! Why do European hotels think this is acceptable for a couple?

+ Well the best things about about this hotel was location,price and cleanliness,room cleaned and new towels every morning,very helpful and welcoming reception,in the heart of Rembrandt away from the noise of the Red Light District but right beside trams that go everywhere and are so easy to use.

- None that i can think of.

+ Professional, friendly staff and comfortable room.

- For a new hotel, incredibly poor windows that let in all the street party noise. I suggest getting on the higher-up floors and towards the back. At 19 euro, the breakfast was outrageously overpriced. Just 5 minutes' walk down the road (with the tram line, toward the centre) you will find a HEMA shop with a freshly-baked/assembled hearty sandwich and good coffee for about 4 euro.

+ Great location. There is a great restaurant/pub right next door with outside seating and main tram line access right outside. We got a room on the 6th floor and it was quiet and pleasant. Plus, right near the river Amstel. Will definatly stay here again.

- During our stay there was construction in teh middle of the street, but since we were out most of the day it wasn't bothersome.

+ very polite, friendly and efficient at the reception. The one and only minus point was that they didn't clean up the bathroom daily.They only changed towels and soaps. Anyway I can hardly raccomend this hotel

+ The hotel was right in the City centre which was good, as everywhere was in walking distance. All the clubs and bars was just downstairs! Even though it was in such a busy location, it was nice and quiet inside the hotel.

+ We found the staff very helpful and polite, the room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Ideal location to reach all parts of Amsterdam on foot.

- Not for the light sleeper. due to it's location, close to Rembrandt Square, with nightclubs nearby, noise goes on for most of the night.

+ First of all, it's very important for us to say, that we booked the HN Hotels special offer, which offered a great price, and included breakfast as well. We booked the room for 7 days in advance (It was our anniversary), so the hotel was very kind to upgrade our room to a better room - for no additional cost (A nice surprise). The rooms were very indulging, spacious, modern designed When we first arrived, they left us candies, bath robes, bath slippers, a nice small box-game, and different magazines. Their breakfast is amazing - versatile, nice looking and tasty. In terms of location, the hotel is located in one of the main squares in Amsterdam called "Rembrandt-Square".

- The hotel is located in one of the main squares in Amsterdam called "Rembrandt-Square". It's the tourist's zone so on weekends there's many people passing by. Although their windows (those with a square view) have thick glass, still it was A beat noisy on weekends' night, but it was bramble. The rest of our staying (Including in the mornings) was quiet.

+ Upgrade to a suite for the price of double room, later found out I actually had the only room with terrace overlooking Remprandtsplein. Must be an excellent place for stay in summer time. Personnel was very friendly and efficient, the price absolutely OK for the room, especially in comparison to others I had in final selection for my trip.

- Reception area is extremely small. The TV in my room didn't work properly but it had been fixed when I returned from dinner.

+ Great location. The hotel allowed me to leave my case there til very late in the evening after checking out.

- The room was freezing! Not just cold but absolutely freezing. Also there was no information in my room, like room service menu etc. There were also belongings from a previous guest on the floor of the room which had not been removed when my room was cleaned before my arrival.

- Unfortunately I had no pleasent stay at you Hotel. 1.) There is NO heating in the rooms. 2.) the climatization was broken and the room was like an freezer, the reception has offered an little heater but these was so noise that I could not sleep the first night. Next day I have changed to an other room, here again NO hetaing. 3.) Early in the morning - the sign "please do not disturb" was ignored. The cleaning people entered allways in room before asking - I never had an experiencelike that in the NH Hotels ! Finally the Invoice was completely wrong, I had booked an room including breakfast. In the invoice all breakfast were added. Removing the breakfasts the invoice was not more clear. I had asked to make me an offer for the first day since these not really an pleasure night - the people at the reception don´t see any way to discuss about. I need really to think about if I will stay again in one of the NH Hotels. Sorry but these are the fakt. For my colleague the stay was too an nightmare Kind Regards

+ Good location, comfy bed.

- Had to wait for 3pm check in. Despite requesting it on booking I was told, with little in the way of help or customer service by a rather moody receptionist the hotel had no double rooms for smokers - what nonsense. In room, air con not working, safe not working. This was fixed by the evening. Will go back to Jolly Carlton next time (even though part of same chain!)Oh yes, very small and very slow lift.

+ The hotel is quite comfortable and very well located.

- The service was very poor. When we checked in, we were given the keys of an already occupied room. Then the room was changed, but instead of a room with two beds (as specified in our internet booking) we got one with double bed. Next day it was changed, but not without a quarrel. (It seems that nobody actually reads the comments in these booking e-mails; the booking is processed no matter what is requested, in the hope to solve the problems later). One receptionist was quite sympathetic but inefficient, and the other one vented her views on how the customers should behave (in a fairly arrogant manner) before checking the availability of the promised change of the room. Finally, our request for a wakeup call was accepted, but no call actually followed.

+ Excellent location, service and breakfast (which as included - go for the summer revolution, if the price is right), although, I don't know whether this applies to "Caransa", since when we arrived it was full and they sent us over to NH Schiller - across the square (which is their "sister hotel")... We didn't mind at all, Caransa is undergoing renovations anyway...

- Room not too big, Internet expensive (should be free, if you ask me), elevators slow and outdated...

- To Noisey in the front rooms. Service lax, Wake up calls not undertaken when asked for. Breakfast poor for price. Tried putting us in Economey room when asked for higher class when booking.Arrived at 9AM had to wait untill 3PM before any access to room.In all totally poor hotel. Amsterdam great.

+ Absolutely unbeatable location. Great service and very comfortable and immaculate room. Probably my favorite hotel in Amsterdam, and I've stayed in quite a few.

- My room wasn't a smoking room as I'd requested in my reservation. Everything else was so good, however, that I really didn't care.

- Much too noisy. A very good hotel, but the nightlife and traffic noise is unbearable if you are on a room facing the main square. The noise never stopped all night. Unable to get a good nights sleep. Not highlighted on the web site!!!.
