Good deal but needs some room rehab

Very close to public transportation. The free e-mail service was a plus. The included breakfast was also great. At $200 a night not a bad deal for three people in the room.

The room was pretty dingy, and without A/C on a hot day it was not a place to hang out in. For $200 a night I would expect a little more attention to the comfort factor in the room.

Clean and cheap hotel

Free parking in front of the hotel on Saturday and Sunday which is quite unique for Amsterdam. Good public transport connection to the city center. Friendly staff. Clean room and bathroom.

It is a bit outdated, probably decorated in the early seventies.

2.50 euro for a coke machine is 4 dollars usa. the soda machine should be one euro. $ 1.00 to be more fair. Breakfast would be nice if included hash brown potatoes and sauage or baken scrambled eggs. No Ice Machine or Drinking fountain as in USA.

size of room was very reasonable, and if you want some quietness away from the noise and hustle and bustle of amsterdam centre you will enjoy

distance from downtown amsterdam although the public transport was very frequent. from amstel station it would take 10mins on the metro to get to centraal station, but coming back at night, you would have to take a nightbus which is again frequent and takes about 15mins, but your travelcards are not valid and the nightbuses charge a fee of 3euros.

This was the #1 best breakfast and service we've seen yet. We had fresh, clean sheets every day. Reception, breakfast, cleaning staff were excellent. They did everything they could to make our stay the wonderful time we will remember. The walk to Amstel station for the metro was quite pleasant. We'll be back again!

The room was cramped. I think they took a double and just added another bed to make it a triple. The carpeting was terribly stained. We needed to "borrow" a table every night to take to our room for our family card game, and return it before bedtime.

Well situated, near the amstel station. Helpful staff. Satisfactory breakfast, though we've eaten better in hotels half the price.

The room is small and shabby. The rug looks old and dirty; we were scared to walk barefoot. The beds aren't that comfortable. It looks like the room has been furnished one item at a time, and with very little concern for aesthetics. To top it all, a couple of loud drunkards roamed the corridors at night. Nonetheless, with a room like this, we were sure to see as much of the city as possible, being so reluctant to come back to the hotel.

I was surprised to know that the hotel doesn´t have a shave and a shaving cream in their disposition for the clients. In almost all hotels, one can ask for this basic thing, even with a cost.

The staff on the reception desk were curteous and helpful.However it was the bar staff who earn the award for friendliness.As a single female I felt comfortable and at ease in the bar. Even though they were busy,serving at and clearing the retsaurant tables also, they always had time to chat for a few mins whilst washing glasses.And their english was impecable.

The bathroom had an odd odour, but this did not permiate into the bedroom.

Overall a good hotel. Well located for public transportation - just 3-5 mins walk to Amstel station. Rooms are in good hygiene and comfortable. Excellent staff at reception- very friendly and helpful bunch of people. I think, I'll definitely stay in this hotel again

It's a very large hotel with good customer services, but could do with a little bit more modernisation. Lack of internet access in rooms is a minus. The hotel corridors look shabby and in need of simple redecor.

Staff were very efficient and friendly. When I first arrived, Silvia (last name not known) was especially helpful. Nice patio for breakfast. Clean rooms.

Some problems with noise from outside the hotel because my room was on the side facing the parking lot. Next time I'll try to stay on the other side. Would like more than one non-smoking floor. Would like you to have had some good maps of Amsterdam available for sale--the Rough Guide to Amsterdam, for example.

Nabij station, en dat is makkelijk als je ergens anders heen wil. Het is een rustige omgeving, je moet dus de drukte opzoeken.

Er mag wel eens een opknap beurt gedaan worden o.a vloerbedelkking en evt dekbedden in plaats van dekens. OOk was het jammer dat alles in engels was. Voor één nacht is het prima vertoeven.

Het pluspunt is dat het dicht bij Amstel station ligt. Het ontbijt is prima

Bijna geen Nederlands talig personeel. Je moet ontzettend lang wachten bij de incheckbalie en ze klagen dat ze moe zijn. Slecht ontvangst. De vierkamer app. zijn erg slecht en zijn volgens mij in oorsprong ook geen kamers. Leek meer een bunker. Het stonk, het was er vies, de dekens waren smerig. Kortom: wij komen hier nooit meer.

Nett, freundlich, für einen Kurztrip ideal..

Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr hilfsbereit, sprechen sowohl fließend Englisch, als auch teilweise Deutsch. Man wird sehr freundlich bedient und empfangen. Mit der Metro ist die Innenstadt in 7minuten zu erreichen. Sehr angenehm.

Die Zimmer sind eher spartanisch eingerichtet und wenig wohnlich, allerdings für einen Kurztripp ausreichend.

Goede ligging, zeer vriendelijk personeel, geweldig ontbijt. Prima parkeergelegenheid.

vieze vloerbedekking geen stof maar vlekken... , deur viel voor aanrechtblok weg. ramen die geheel open konden en kozijnen die echter in slechte staat waren.
