central, friendly staff, we had a five bed room was fine for the purpose of myself and my friends for late nights.. the staff were also very accommodating in serving very late drinks.. cheers guys!

ninety euro each (450) for a five bed bedroom with a bathroom is a bit steep, but everything else was fine..

Quad room

Location is almost perfect. Service was really friendly. Breakfast was cheap.

Room was really dirty and hygiene-level wasn't that what we expected. Traffic and party noise were also disturbing in the morning and night time. Breakfast included only bread, ham, cheese, egg and coffee.

Ideal location for nightlife and sight-seeing in amsterdam.

Very welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. Organized and no complications when booking / checking out. Perfect Location, in Rembrant plein. Nice with the bell at the front door to enter, safe. Good quality room for price. Right across the street from some of the best nightclubs, pubs and restaurants, making it very accessible and safe for the guests to return home. In addition, there is a tram right outside the hotel to take you to centraal station or anywhere else one would like to go. Also close to a canal cruise boat. A very good location for first-time visitors who want the full amsterdam experience :)

Nice breakfast for a fair price. Room very large. Clean and nice toillet. The view of my apartment (to Rambrantplein).

Staircase (66 steps to my apartment): nothing against it, but the staff doesn't help with the bags. Too noisy during the nights, specially on weekends. If you have this as a problem to sleep (I don't), than it's not your hotel.

The hotel seems to have been recently remodeled. I thought it was really nice. The ensuite bathroom was modern and fabulous. Also, the hotel is conveniently located; it's less than a 30-minute walk to just about everything.

Rembrandtplein gets wild at night, so if you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs. Also, if you have trouble climbing stairs, this is probably not the place for you.

Upon arrival, Simon was very friendly and gave us each one complimentary drink. He was also very helpful upon leaving, as he helped us with our train schedule.

We stayed four nights here and it was excellent. The location couldn't be better, the staff are friendly and the rooms clean. We had a lovely, light-flooded twin room on the corner with big windows and balconies. The en-suite seemed brand new and there's heaps of hot water, clean towels and everything you'd need. Breakfast is a basic continental smorgasbord that doesn't vary from day-to-day, but is quite adequate.

The beds were very comfortable, but narrow (probably because the room wasn't too big). There's no lift, so you have to be prepared to climb lots of steep stairs, although they're not as steep as some Amsterdam staircases. The hotel is situated on one of the main squares in Amsterdam, so there's a fair bit of night life and trams rumbling by at night. It didn't bother us, but it might be annoying for a light sleeper.

We stayed in the apartment beside the hotel. For three people staying for three nights it was wonderful - it included a small kitchen and a great sitting area which made for a truly homey stay.

The cost of staying at City Hotel has gone up over the years, but this is more than made up for by the new renovations, location and the friendly staff.

I think the value of this place is excellent! The people were friendly, everything was clean and tidy, the rooms were spacious and gave me a good place to rest my head on my Amsterdam trip. I'll definately be back!

The stairs can be a bit awkward and steep and if you need any service in can also be annoying having to go outside to go back up to the front desk. There's a club downstairs that can go on for a while as well. Oh, and the rooms are quite gloomy! None of these problems bothered me that much but they're worth taking a note of if you're the fussy type.

Hotel ligt op de hoek Rembrandtplein. Personeel is erg servicegericht. Uitchecken kan tot 11.00u en inchecken vanaf 11.00u.

Voor herhaling vatbaar!!

Wij hebben een leuke tijd gehad in het City hotel.Niets op aan te merken. Service was goed,leuke eenvoudige kamer en netjes!

Jammer dat we bij een vijf persoonskamer de douche en toilet op de gang hadden,maar dat weer houd ons er niet van om nog een keer te overnachten in het cityhotel!!!
