+ Close to train station. Friendly reception. Clean sheets.

- noise from partying next door! Construction going on in hotel. Dirty walls and carpet in room. Poor tv reception--no satilite. Impossible stairs for carrying up large rolling bags. Most expensive hotel we paid for in a trip that included London and Paris but the worst quality by far.

Hugo Longhi City Hotel is Ok, not much more.

- there was a construct?on when we stay, in the early morning they start to dig hotel for construct a new room. tv was not working. we changed room after two days, first room was behind the kitchen and smelling food inside. but second room was ok, which is on first floor.

+ reasonable walk from Centraal Station; they try to accommodate people who want to check in early (wonderful in my case as I had just come from an overnight flight across the Atlantic; free WiFi in lobby;

- no major complaints; the room was a little cramped and drab but it was what I expected for the price.

+ it is near to the Central Station, center of AMsterdam, but it is forbidden to smoke, make noise, it is a good place if you want to relax after a descovering day in Amsterdam. The breakfast is very good.

+ This is a good value hotel 5 mins from station but in a quiet location. Room small but clean and comfortable with an efficient shower and good sized towels. Hotel well maintained and staff pleasant and helpful. You can pay as much and more round this area for filthy tiny rooms with bare electrical wires and treacherous staircases.

- No remote for the TV.

+ Clean sheets and no bedbugs (as reported at other hotels). Helpful staff. Luggage storage after checkout very useful. Good location and price.

- Old, worn carpets and bed cover. Small rooms and steep stairs, but these are building constraints common to many hotels in the area. Very simple breakfast (bread, boiled egg, sliced cheese and ham, butter and jam, coffee or tea).

- booked double room and had to have a twin room for first night. double room after this had a sewer smell in the bathroom. we moved the bed next to the window.

+ i dont know why other people have said the carpet was bad or the stairs were steep, i never noticed a problem with either, room was clean, always someone on reception so you can come in at any time, everything worked as it should etc,

- cant really say there are any, bit of a trek into places but only really 5 mins more than most the other hotels, also being out the way a bit means there wasnt any street noise.

+ Location was ok, thats about, overpriced for what it offers, very very basic hotel.

- Room A3 is very noisy as its beside the road on ground floor, room very small, shower handle broken meaning i had to hold it while trying to shower, went to reception at 3am to try and change room because of noise, i was told, were full, come back tomorrow, no apology or sympathy whatsoever by staff, i would not stay again, i would have had more peace in a tent to be honest.

+ Good location, not far from city centre and train station (about 10-15 minutes walk). Although room is small and plain (it does not very much look like a hotel room!), it is clean. Bed sheets, pillows, and towels are clean. The shower facility (room No. 10) is new and modern compared to the bedroom! Staff is nice and very helpful.

- Stairs are small and steep. If you are bringing a big suitcase, you might be struggling especially if your room is on 2nd or 3rd floor.

- If you want to spent the most time of your stay in Amsterdam and need hotel only for to sleep, you will be right here - the rooms are small ans simple, but there is all, what you need and they are very clean.

+ GREAT Location! Near central station, Dam Square, Red Light and ALL the Coffee Shops! Couldn't have asked for a better spot. Will definately stay there again!

- ASK FOR THE FIRST FLOOR!!! The stairs were vertical and very scary. Ended up with 2 single beds pushed together. That's the only reason for the 7 under comfort.

+ Extremely friendly and helpful staff, pleasant atmosphere.

- Although the stanadard of cleanliness was reasonably good, the shower could have used a little more attention when cleaning. We had friends staying in the next room whose bathroom had a bad smell coming from the drain, although once the staff were notified the problem was quickly rectified. Sadly no smoking policy throughout the hotel but with the new smoking ban in place this is surely to be expected

+ the hotel is in a great location, and easy to find from the station. the staff were helpful and friendly. the bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean,though the bedspread seemed a bit dodgy! the shower was hot and powerful

+ Center location - 10 minutes in walking distance from Amsterdam Central railway station and Red Light District. Vey very nice and friendly staff - they are helping in getting bicycles, showing maps with main attractions from Amsterdam (all in English). Lagguage can be stored when you need to visit city. No bugs. Very nice breakfast served on the ground floor close to the entrance.

- Very high stairs without lift. Carpets seems to be dirty. Also rooms smell not very nice. Not very comfortable beds. We have ordered twin room and received double beds room. Keys to the rooms you can pick-up without receptionist knowledge.
