+ Very friendly staff, very clean hotel and rooms keep immaculate. Proximity to all ajor attractions were all within 10-15 mins walk and the hotel was on a tram line directly outside if you did not fancy walking. The mail train station ( that6 brings you direct to airport) was also only 10 mins walk away

- We did not have food in hotel as the prices were a bit high. The rooms were far too warm but it was explained int he literature that air conditioning would be installed later in the year. There was windows that could be opened but due to the proximity to the main city which was a good thing) the noise on the streets wuld have kept us awake more than the heat of the room.

+ Service, very good Location perfect for walking, shopping, and to train

- bathroom toilet, very crammed. It was hard to sit on the toilet without your knees being jammed into the wall so used the bathroom in the lobby. Bedroom lighting was low and can be updated.

- Not Really a Minus but hotel was undergoing soft refurbishment & there was no minibar & AC but in amsterdam one can do without

+ Good location

- You can't count on the confirmed price. They added 65 Euros to the confirmed price when we got to the hotel, but we consisted that we woulden't pay more than the confirmed price. To the confirmed price comes 20% city taxes - these you have to pay. No parking at the hotel - big minus. Breakfast too expencive.

+ Requested a room change (due to noise from an air handling unit outside the window) and was moved immediately. Great location Staff extremely helpful Drink voucher provided due to ongoing renovation

- Found a toe nail clipping in the bed Bathroom should have some more toiletries.

+ Tram stop immediately outside the hotel, so good for getting to other areas of Amsterdam. 10-15 minutes to main train station, close to Dam square etc.

- On check out hotel tried to charge me 585 euros instead of the 322 euros I was quoted on this site, claiming the difference was city tax. It took me 20 minutes of arguing before they reduced the rate, This made me miss my train and I was late for a meeting. Breakfast is expensive. Hotel is in middle of refurbishment which means that you have to pass builders to leave your room in the morning, and you cannot always get to the lifts. One of the lifts is very old and has no door to protect you from the wall/floors as it moves, this is illegal in most European countries. Builders start work at 8am so if you want to have a sleep in forget it. My room was facing the front of the hotel and was noisy most of the night.

+ buffet is excelent. coffee machine is superb. the bar is good. I like the view from room's window. very good location.

- without a reasonable desk for business trips. rooms too small. the room 115 (and 2 other at least) have a poor access. at that moment, there wasn't WI-FI available, not even on lounge.

- not a very presidential suite on the 1st floor, room service lacking breakfast, not given bar key. Gym towels in room, wallpaper falling off, water stains. No central air, heat was just OK

+ Nice design of the room (we had a small staircase:), quiet spacious, good view from the windows. Friendly personnel, fast check-in. Cleanness. Good location - centre and close to the Central train Station.

- Breakfast was not included, though it was a 4 star hotel.

- I had prepaid but on arrival was told I hadn't paid and the senior receptionist was extremely rude - when I insisted I had paid the trainee receptionist checked again and confirmed I had in fact paid - no apology was offered and as a result will never stay there agin

+ I FOUND A MOUSE IN MY ROOM I MOVED IN ONE NIGT 3 TIMES BC THE MOUSE WAS HIDEN IN MY CASE AND I TOOK IT WITH ME IN THE OTHER ROOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!PLUS BC I HAD COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE STUFF WAS VERY HELPFUL.I MOVED INTO THE BUSINESS SUITE

+ Hotel position is ideal being set just behind the palace it enjoys being a very central yet quiet location. Only 10 minutes walk to the railway station that takes you directly to the airport it could not have been better.

- The bathroom was a disgrace--enamel peeling off the bath and a cracked sink. The cleaners were very noisy and woke us up every morning. This is never a 4 star hotel--even by Amsterdam standards

+ receptionist very welcomming,bar staff very chatty and in general staff were very plesent

- very little toilet roll in room on arrival also only 1 tissue in box in bathroom dissapointed with that,my wife always tries to help on leaving hotal as she did that type of work before,so she always stripes the sheets to help cleaners,in doing this she disscovered we had being lying on a sheet witch was over a bloodstained blanket,this totally ruined our stay as it turned our stomachs and for this reason we would not recomend your hotel witch is regretful as every thing else seemed up to standards ,we were in room 130 maybe if u check this you will see for yourself someone is not doing there job,thank you for an otherwise plesent stay

+ The location is fantastic and some of the staff are helpful.

- The price is expensive for what it is. When we arrived we were given a room which we were told was on the first floor, but was actually a basement, there was no TV reception, the bathroom ceiling was rotting, the window was out onto some industrial piping and other windows in some small yard, the final straw was a spider climbing up the wall. I went to reception and asked for a change, there were no other double rooms so i asked for a twin, which they moved us to, this was on the first floor, was absolutely huge, had a big window facing out over the main street, and a room service menu. It was like being in a different hotel. I wouldnt risk staying here again.

+ The service was more than acceptable in the sense that we were upgraded to another room for the second night of our stay following our disappointment with the bridal suite facilities - the room itself is lovely - however, it would have been better to know the things didn't work before we'd settled in. Otherwise, lovely restaurant - would definitely recommend the numbered steak - and the hotel location is brilliant for walks/trips around the city + all staff were friendly and helpful.

- Jacuzzi in Bridal suite didn't work, nor did the movies or wireless internet.

+ Great central location. Room was clean and had a good shower.

- The room was barely big enough for a double bed and was very noisy no doubt due to its location by a stairwell. No minibar and poor other facilities. There were even holes in the sheets. I've stayed in better 2* for a fraction of the price...

+ central location, good day and nightlife around.

- business suite is crap - no airco and no windows at the sleeping area - in my opinion no one would be able to sleep their health. I got an other room - which was far more pleasant, but not a business style. Internet did not work - the shower was too hot or too cold. The hot tub was large but only for that purpose and not suitable to take a shower. I will not recommend this to my business relations in the Netherlands - and I have plenty of visitors in Amsterdam.

+ Central for everything. Able to easily walk to all those to-do places. Regular trams pass outside, for those not wanting the exercise. Beds gave a really good nights sleep. All the staff very helpful, and pleasant.

- Maintenance crew never fixed the safe, or the refrigerator, during the 5 days there, although reported/reminded daily.

+ Muy bien situado, ideal para visitar Amsterdam. A destacar la fachada del hotel. Los empleados muy bien, muy amables. Sin problema con el idioma, una empleada hablaba español. La brasserie del hotel muy agradable, y el desayuno buffet bien.

- No responde a un cuatro estrellas, la suite en la que nos alojamos era bastante pobre, el baño incómodo y poco atractivo, la sensación en general no es buena. Los pasillos muy estrechos, las puertas transmiten sensación de pobreza, y poco cuidado.

+ Ideaal gelegen, dichtbij het station en toch midden in de stad waar alles te voet kan afgelegd worden.

- Spijtig genoeg GEEN warm water, dus een bad nemen na een lange dag wandelen en winkelen zat er niet in. (+/- 17-18u).
