Two-star hotel with 3-star service
+
The staff was very responsive; breakfast was good but not the juice, and there was no fresh fruit offered. The beds were comfortable, hotel was clean, and though in the tourist zone, we were on the top floor facing away from the street, which made our room quiet and private. Very nice quality towels for such an inexpensive hotel.
–
The rudeness of other guests is not under control of the hotel, so no minus points.
*my tipVery centrally located, all of Amsterdam within easy reach.
Don't forget to leave something for the cleaners! They do a good job -

Great location for a basic place!
+
Great location, quiet room with all basic facilities. Also good selection at breakfast.
–
Room wasn't ready at check in time and towels were provided a few hours after that.
*my tipWe went for a quick night away, highly recommend the pub crawl for nightlife and also a restaurant called Van Kerkwijk which is just off Dam Square for some good quality dishes.

Great Place For A Weekend Getaway
+
Great Coffee, Continental Breakfast, Soft Bed, Great Location, Free Wi-Fi, Front Desk Staff Very Nice
–
Very small rooms and bathroom, no parking
*my tipIt is a great place to stay for a couple days but it is too small for longer. 2 great Tabby cats live there. Excellent location. Start the day with breakfast and then head out for the day.

A bargain for such a good location
+
Very clean hotel and reasonably priced, perfect location and the staff are very friendly. In particular, after being initially ripped off on getting a taxi to the hotel George managed to sort us out a good deal for the return taxi to the airport.
–
Breakfast finishes quite early (think it was 9.30), although that's quite possibly our fault because we were generally hungover.

This hotel does not know the meaning of customer service.
+
The location is the only positive thing.
–
Most of the front desk staff was very rude and not customer oriented. They did not seem to be bothered with anything, even giving an official receipt for my stay. I wonder if they are even paying taxes. The attitude of the breakfast person was as if she had bought the food herself and did not want to spend too much, and so they ran out of stuff after only one hour. No remote for the television, and the staff blamed it on the customers' stealing them. How hard is it to have a sign-out policy?
*my tipDo not stay here. These hotels exist because people still go there. No remotes for the televisions, no food in the rooms, no friends in the rooms, etc., etc. I got screamed at when I asked if my room was ready when I arrived an hour early before check-in. In the end it was ready.

Would stay here again but only for overnight visits to A'dam
+
Location, lively area with plenty of bars and restaurants, even a coffee shop next door
Warm and clean
Breakfast was adequate (cheese, meats, bread, coffee, tea and a breakfast drink aka 'juice')
–
Room was tiny and no space to hang up more than a couple of shirts and a coat, so OK for an overnight stay

I am sorry not to find out the name of a very nice employee. He helped me to find out the price of lockers at central station and location of Bershka shop. He is doing his job with ease and he is very warm and pleasant person.
–
The other employee. Not as warm. The same question if he knows the cost of lockers at cetral station was very simple. Just "NO".

Aviod this Hotel

This is NOT a hotel that I would advise anyone to use! The room was cramped and basically unclean. The service was minimal as was the breakfast. NOT A VALUE FOR THE HIGH PRICE!!!
