Stephen Cameron 'Monumental Suit' Grand Amrath hotel: 22 July 2011; 7.6; + very spacious, clean, friendly staff, great complimentary mini bar, restocked every day. good location. Alot of interesting history about the hotel. the bathroom was excellent the best we have stayed in.; - A guy from concierge showed us the room before we chose and he didnt know the room contents like where the mini bar was, Also it was up to us to find it and to work out the controls of the air conditioning. Their wasnt a cosy couch either, just leather chairs in the living room. we stayed in the 'Monumental Suit'

William Baumbach Luxury in an historic setting: 23 May 2011; 10; + bathroom modern and luxurious; excellent beds, lighting; - a little complicated to find elevators, but part of the charm of the historic building

Jon Three Star luxury at best: 2 March 2011; 5.4; + Very comfy bed, great shower.; - Cracked and loose floor tiles in the bathroom and stained surfaces - was clean but did not feel it. At best 3 star quality. Curtains were supposed to be remote controlled - manual! Room location (Room 10) noisy and lighting dull. Floor -1 and felt underground. TV picture quality and sound quality very poor. Nowhere to put your clothes - drawer space - 1 small drawer, wardrobe half size and that is for 2 people.

Seven seas restaurant has excellent quality food at good prices compared with dinner at other Amsterdam restaurants. Very helpfull staff.; - A littlle more walking to town centre is required. Not much storage space for clothes in the otherwise excellent bedrooms.

BRIAN MOREAU OK BUT NOT A 5 STAR HOTEL.: 22 September 2010; 6.4; + Location: close to central train station.; - Building is very old and not well modified for hotel use. Hallways are dark aand numerous. Rooms are stark with tile floors. Not at all romantic, even though we were upgraded to the "romantic" four poster bed room.

Konstantin Lipnikov Great hotel for business and pleasure: 7 June 2010; 9.8; + Great location, spacious rooms, great blanket on the bed, complimentary bar and WiFi; - The bed must be relocated to the opposite wall to remove direct lights from the bath and reduce noise from the corridor.

J.T. Chen Luxurious hotel: 15 February 2010; 10; + Wonderful design and architecture. Rooms were very richly decorated! A great romantic option for a weekend getaway.; - Not for those on a budget.

Esther Pricey - but worth it.: 16 November 2009; 9.4; + Excellent service, lovely wellness suite, walking distance from the train station and city centre, plenty of places for breakfast within ten minutes' walk.; - pricey - but worth it.

Mohammad Albokhari: 31 July 2009; 6.0; + Reception and concierge was very good. To have a free bar is very tempting and makes it easier for the guest to relax. Free internet was also very good idea.; - Cleaning was very bad. The rooms are not cleaned well. There was no shampoo in the hotel when we asked for it. We had a problem with internet connection that we had to change the room.

We felt at home with the right amount of privacy and again, the outstanding service. Free minibar, all amenities imaginable, well worth the price.; - Not really a minus, but it would have been handy to have an electric outlet in the bathroom.

Antonio: 5 November 2007; 3.4; + Location, and minibar is free.; - Every day we had a lot of problems with the hotel. When we arrive to the room we find a sock in the room; some days they don't clean the room completly, the refrigerator dosen't work for 2 days. In the bar they are very slow. The wardrobe is very, very very small. We paid a lot, for a 5 stars hotels and we don't expect had to lose every day 1 hour do reclamations an explications. I understand that they are a new hotel, but the staff had to be trained.

Chris Blundell: 18 September 2007; 3.2; + We stayed at this hotel as it was the only hotel available for our stay of the 8th September.; - Exceedingly expensive. Beds/ rooms not turned down in evening (Advised desk, who said "Well you must have put a sign out stating Do not disturb" No hooks/towel rails to hang towels to dry, if you had a shower, one had to put the towel on the floor!! Thought for 450 euros rooms was small, no view & dark and no breakfast included!!!! Curtains could not close properly with bedside table alongside due to smallness of room. Hotel needs to get to grips with taxi service, car tooks at least 15 minutes to arrive. Generally bad experience, would not stay again and would think twice about staying in any other group hotels.

Foster: 17 September 2007; 8.8; + location - 550 yards from central station; willing and helpful staff; very stylish ( original art nouveau building); - there is still a lot of building work going on - It's quite a way from being finished - noisy building work from as early as 8.35am.Big difference in outlook between rooms facing each other and canal view. Power showers didn't really work. No bottle opener on arrival and took two requests before I was provided with one on the next day

The general manager was very attentive. Room had high ceilings, great furnishing, super sharp flat screen TV, beautiful architectural features through out hotel. Large tub and shower. Overall one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had, and I travel a lot.; - unlike heaven, you can not stay here forever

Luxe kamers; - kamer was niet klaar bij aankomst (dit was vooraf wel gevraagd) minibar was leeg toen we aankwamen (half lege flesjes) en er was een lekkage op de grond naast het bed. Stond in 1x met natte voeten. Bij de kamers op de begane grond hoor je wel duidelijk lawaai van buitenaf

Ben Fraai gelegen, veel service, maar geen ***** kwaliteit: 19 January 2011; 7.6; + Prachtig gebouw in stijl Amsterdamse School met zeer veel fraaie details vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel nespressoapparaat op de kamer gratis drankjes uit minibar rustig goede bedden gratis internet; - slechte tv ontvangst (sneeuw vervormd beeld dat niet kon worden ingesteld onplezierige doucheklapwand in badkamer (was niet goed te gebruiken zonder een waterballet te veroorzaken.

Kleine kamer zonder een kast om kleding in kwijt te kunnen. Douche hing niet recht en douchescherm moest je met een handdoek vastklemmen, anders klapte het weer in. Prijs ontbijtbuffet te hoog. We vonden het comfort van de kamer totaal niet in verhouding met de prijs, we zouden hier niet nog eens voor kiezen.

Urs Schön Top-Hotel mit schlechter Bar.: 20 September 2010; 7.6; + Ein wirklich schönes Hotel. Liebevolle Umnutzung. Optimal gelegen. Sehr ruhig und gediegen.; - Viel zu weiche Betten. Miserables Bar-Personal (3mal einen Caipirinha bestellt. 3 verschiedene Versionen erhalten, 1mal ohne Eis). Und in einen Dry-Martini gehören keine öligen Oliven.
