- Overall would recommend this hotel
- Friendly helpful staff. I found location perfect, quiet at night but just 2 minutes walk from lively Leidseplein. Trams easily accessed and just a few stops from Central Station. Room cleaned daily. Breakfast typical, cereal, hams, cheese, boiled eggs, breads tomatoes/cucumber and fruit salad.
- Single room was small and basic for price but included breadfast and felt safe. Bed was comfortable but quite soft. If you are a big guy then will find it a bit of a squeeze to fit into this single bed.

- overall nice hotel
- close, convient to tram, rijksmuseum, nice cosey hotel. Hotels mascot is a cat!! Nice little garden in the back. Staff very helpful, answered all questions!!
- It was a little loud...I picked this hotel since it was a little futher out from the centrum...but still noisey. Get a room in the back away from the street and on a higher floor so you don't hear people climbing up the stairs all night.

- Good budget hotel in great location.
- Obliging staff and friendly cat. Pleasant breakfast area and food very good.
You have to be brave and fit to use the very steep stairs but there is an elevator, though it is very small and very slow.
- The toilet bowl leaked and the private safe was unusable as the door was broken.

- Friendly, wonderful location, a bit cramped
- Very helpful owner and staff -- helping us with lift and storing the luggage, serving us early breakfast, suggesting nearby Indonesian restaurant. Location very near Vondelparken was a delight.
- Not luxurious by any means -- cramped lift; our double room was small but adequate, but the single room had hardly space to turn around, nowhere for luggage.

- Pleasant airy rooms in a quiet street close to attractions
- The room was a nice size as we had chosen one of the larger unit. It had access to a small private deck which a pleasant extra. The area is quiet but very close to main activities and transportation.
- Rooms are very plain and the stairs are a challenge. The elevator is meant for one person with a couple of bags only.

- Very good place to stay, quiet, clean, friendly. Better infos desirable..
- Very quiet and clean area. Close to trams and busses, and good connections with public transportation.
Friendly, willing staff, partly very competent.
Proud tomcat Gregory and colourful wild birds in a tiny green, lush courtyard.
- Wrong infos given concerning public transportation. We just about missed the plane, even thogh we started 90min earlier than recommended.
Price of the room: I thought it was quite expensive, but I have no comparison with prices of other hotels in Amsterdam.

- location, just right, in museum district, a short distance to Leidsplain tram stop, very close to Vondel Park, staff helpful, cordial, delightful dining room, garden, cat, wild parrots & other birds, same street as "7 houses from 7 countries"
- our room was tiny, separated twin beds, but we knew this on booking, tiny, slow lift, steep stairs, but again, we knew this on booking, overall these were minor details, thank goodness there was a fan in room

- Friendly and efficient staff, nice outlook and good location, nice spacious room, pleasant breakfast room. We would stay again.
- The mouse in our room and the laid back reaction when we reported it. However we did not see it again after the first night, so perhaps the cat was put to work. The room was otherwise spotless. Bath needs a non skid mat when it is used as a shower.

- Small price, small room, clean, Leidseplein at walking distance!
- Very good spot, close to the Leidseplein, at walking distance. Very small room under the rooftop.
Clean and beds were good.
- We asked for an extra pillow which seemed to be difficult. Anyway the woman at the deskoffice was very reluctant to give us another pillow.
Sadly, her attitude wasn't very positive.
The rooms under us had very loud occupants, we could here every word they said.

- The hotel was perfect for our stay in Amsterdam and would certainly return. The staff were friendly and very accommodating, the room suited our needs as there was three of us staying at the hotel. The breakfast was also great as it set us up for the day ahead. As we went on recommendation I would certainly pass on this recommendation on.

- Lovely hotel nestled on quiet street between Vondel Park and Leidseplein. Within walking distance to many tourist attractions. I'm a handicapped senior who visits Amsterdam yearly. I always come with one or more of my daughters. We all agree, we can count on Hotel Hestia for clean rooms, comfortable beds, and friendly, helpful staff. We would recommend this hotel.
- The guest PC went out for repairs shortly after we arrived. The staff was able to provide whatever tourism info we needed. The internet cafe (Fed Ex) was within walking distance of the hotel. We would stay at this hotel again.
