Description

Hotel Rho houses in a beautiful building in the heart of the city centre. The building has served as a trading house for gold and was originally built to function as a theatre. Magnificent stained glass windows emphasize the Art-Deco style. The hotel is situated at a quiet, small street, in the middle of the centre. The 'Dam' square is around the corner. From the hotel several excursions, by boat or bus, can be organised at the hotel and the hotel offers parking space. This ensures plenty of opportunities to engage in an extensive cultural visit to the bustling centre of Amsterdam. The numerous cafés, bars and restaurant that enrich Amsterdam are all within walking range.

Bicycles can be rent at the hotel, which brings the inner city even closer. Within 5 minutes you can reach the 'Koninklijk Paleis' (royal palace) as well as several museums and the 'Nieuwe Kerk', a church which regularly organises expositions. All of the rooms are equipped with bath and/or shower and toilet, minibar, direct phone line, a fridge and lockers. Possessions can be stored safely here.

Anonymous Yet Another Great Stay At Hotel RHO Amsterdam!!: 18 January 2012; 10; + This is our third time staying at the RHO its good value for money, situated in the centre of dam square, clean and tidy, very friendly and helpful staff, breakfast is basic but tasty, rooms clean and comfortable.. Im sure will we be returning next year.; - Our room was a little smaller than what we have had in the past.

Anonymous Close to Dam Square, nice staff: 27 September 2011; 7.0; + The room is centrally located, the staff very very niice -- they recommended restaurants, helped us with directions and taxi and were generally really wonderful people. There is a lovely reception area, free internet usage, a nice big breakfast that goes later into the morning.; - The room is quite simple and very small and plain. We were on the second floor with a nice view to the square...(which I had asked for) but VERY noisy. I would recommend asking for a quieter room if this is an issue.

Very central to transport, round corner from Dam Square. Breakfast included which was quite extensive. Internet available free. Could print for free downstairs. Reception very helpful.; - Very noisy at night - near Red Light District and lots of loud passers by. Room was very dim - only one working light at night, which was not adequate.

No "do not disturb" signs are provided. There is no hotel directory in the room- i could not call reception (dialling 0 does not work). Our bedsheets were only changed once during 4 day stay. very poor wifi signal in the rooms. coudl not use internet in our room.

We were able to check in when we arrived at 11am as our room was ready; this was really great as we were free to use the rest of the day as we wished (including an afternoon nap!) Adequately sized room, clean bathroom. Nice breakfast. Free internet access for home flight on-line check-in was a bonus.; - It was difficult to close bedroom doors quietly, and there was some noise from guests in the room above, but neither of these posed a big problem for us. I would have liked a kettle in the room and some cups (happy to use own milk and tea bags). The pillows were too thick for our taste, but again this was a minor thing. Fridge smelt a bit cheesy.

GARETH ROGERS Cleanliness, Comfort, and Value...look no further!: 31 May 2011; 9.0; + The hotel is perfectly located and within reach of all star attractions, activities, transport, and shops. It is a safe and secure haven for anyone looking to stay in Amsterdam! We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and its proximity to everything was awesome! The breakfast was also superb...they have the nicest bacon I have tasted in a long time and the fresh orange juice was marvelous.; - The shower was terrible. There was zero water pressure and at best it could have been described as a 'trickle'. A donkey boiler would have been more effective. However...wasn't enough to dampen (no pun intended) our time spent there!

Lance January experience in the RHO: 29 January 2011; 8.8; + The men at the Reception desk were very helpful and also very polite, at ALL times of the night, as some of us were going in and out until 5am.; - As we drove, we left the key for my car in reception. Just quoting a room number was adequate, to obtain the car key, and I thought that was quite risky, as anyone could quote a room number and obtain someones car key. The parking was safe but the security for the key was not.
