Great middle priced hotel with good tram connections.
  • + The hotel was excellent and the breakfast very good and diverse as well.
  • * my tip Great location for the old Jewish museums & Rambrandt area of Amsterdam as well as the zoo. Good local restaurants & cafes as well as close to part of the Univ. of Amsterdam.

Clean, cosy and easily accessible
  • + Clean, cosy and easily accessible hotel for an economic visit in Amsterdam. Comfortable beds. Very good location!
  • The internet connection is not without problems. Free wifi at lobby is too slow with no stable connection; the cable in our room was faulty and not fixed before we left, despite our request.

Not acceptable
  • + Location, kindness of the lady at the reception
  • Quality of the room: booking several weeks in advance and several times in the year for being offered a choice of tiny and "blind" rooms in the undergrouns or ground floor is a shame

Ok for 1 night.
  • Dirty carpet with a very uncomfortable bed, no such thing as a Sunday morning sleep in when the cleaning staff are vacuming outside your room at 0800.

This hotel is located central. The rooms are dirty and small.
  • + Staff was friendly and helpful.
  • It was dirty (e.g. carpet). The room and bathroom were very small. Breakfast was not included, but after we looked at the dark breakfast room in the cellar, we were happy about that.

  • Teach people to close doors quietly. 30euros for breakfast was abit much

Excellent value for money, very helpful staff and a perfect location
  • + This hotel has many positive points including value for money and very helpful staff, but the single factor which probably means we will use it again is it's location. Just outside the City centre with trams every 10 minutes made it perfect for us. The local, traditional cafes were great for an early morning coffee or late night wine after a day in the City.

Expensive city life!
  • + Not too distant from city centre. They offered to look after our luggage on departure day without being prompted. The staff were knowledgeable and helpfull
  • We had the smallest double room we have ever seen. For the price this was very poor. The cooked food at breakfast was poor, but the cold things were of good quality.

  • + great location, close to the city center but in a quiet neighbourhood
  • tiny room, no space for luggage. didn't think we would be living underground when booked the room (windows slightly above ground level, the view of somebody's feet passing by was not enjoyable); extremely noisy.

The small 'Eden'
  • + Hotel was generally clean and tidy and the within approx 15 to 20mins walking distance to the centre. Hotel is very close to the zoo and was also within 20mins walking distance to central station.
  • Well after paying over 150 euro's a night with no breakfast, i would definatly not stay here again. The room was very small and the toilet / shower area were tiny (you could hardly move when in the toilet area). The staff were ok but generally did not acknowledge you. We were also suprised that there was a stealth tax charged (for amsterdam city tax 17 euros)which we did not expect and also thought that when booking through hotels.nl, all costs had been included. Not the best value hotel in Amsterdam and would suggest that anyone considering booking this hotel looks at others as well!!!!!

Great location, fresh air with openable windows. Walkable/ train C
  • + Walkable to Central Station. We rented bikes from CentralStation. Hotel is on tram line 9 and 14, reachable from central station . Located accross Artis Zoo. Clean and Quiet. Great for ones who do not want to be right in the middle of the action, but want to see it up close!
  • Did not use the breakfast, which I believe had been lowered to $12 per day. Good breakfast for cheaper just beside hotel at English friendly coffee bar.

  • + Right near the zoo and The Resistance Museum.Clean, friendly and helpful staff. Free computer/internet in lobby. Pay for acces in room.

We would stay here again
  • + Wonderful shower. Very comfortable beds. Good selection of food for breakfast buffet in a very nice and cheery room. Staff was friendly and accomodating.
  • More vanity space in the bathroom would've been appreciated. Trade the large sink in for more vanity space. Dresser drawers would be a good addition - even just two would be very useful.

Good Quality on a Budget
  • + Very good location near Rembrandt plein, good tram connection to everywhere. Quiet environment; had a peaceful sleep. Nice cafées around.
  • Way too expensive breakfast. Shower could've been more spacious. Keycard didn't work on the outdoor and the receptionist wasn't too friendly but ok.
