Hampshire Hotel - Lancaster Amsterdam

Clean, cosy and easily accessible

• + Clean, cosy and easily accessible hotel for an economic visit in Amsterdam. Comfortable beds. Very good location!
• – The internet connection is not without problems. Free wifi at lobby is too slow with no stable connection; the cable in our room was faulty and not fixed before we left, despite our request.

Homely feel to the hotel

• + Its about 5 min to the city. Very quiet area.

Good value, quiet and convenient location.

• + Good location; competent staff.
• – Expensive breakfast.

• – very small room, noisy expensive for wht it is and very different from the internet site I won't go back to this hotel

Not acceptable

• + Location, kindness of the lady at the reception
• – Quality of the room: booking several weeks in advance and several times in the year for being offered a choice of tiny and "blind" rooms in the undergrouns or ground floor is a shame

Ok for 1 night.

• – Dirty carpet with a very uncomfortable bed, no such thing as a Sunday morning sleep in when the cleaning staff are vacuming outside your room at 0800.

This hotel is located central. The rooms are dirty and small.

• + Staff was friendly and helpful.
• – It was dirty (e.g. carpet). The room and bathroom were very small. Breakfast was not included, but after we looked at the dark breakfast room in the cellar, we were happy about that.

• – Teach people to close doors quietly. 30euros for breakfast was abit much

Excellent value for money, very helpful staff and a perfect location

• + This hotel has many positive points including value for money and very helpful staff, but the single factor which probably means we will use it again is it's location. Just outside the City centre with trams every 10 minutes made it perfect for us. The local, traditional cafes were great for an early morning coffee or late night wine after a day in the City.

Good value for money well situated for Amsterdam city centre

Ok, but not geat...

• + Close to the center of the city. Only a 15 minutes walk.
• – - Pourly quality beds! - Very unreliable Internet connection. - Room (espacially bathroom) to small.

Expensive city life!

• + Not too distant from city centre. They offered to look after our luggage on departure day without being prompted. The staff were knowledgeable and helpfull
• – We had the smallest double room we have ever seen. For the price this was very poor. The cooked food at breakfast was poor, but the cold things were of good quality.

Well located hotel

• + The service from all the staff we encountered was excellent - everybody was very friendly and helpful. Excellent location for the superb tram system for easy access to the city complemeted by local shops & bars
