The luxurious hotel Mercure Amsterdam aan de Amstel is easy to reach from the A10 ring road of Amsterdam and from the A2 highway. When you are travelling by subway you get off at the 'Overamstel' stop and the end stop of tram 25 is also nearby. The hotel has secured parking facilities as well. Restaurant L'Ambiance is open between 06:30 and 22:00 h. for breakfast, group lunches and group dinners. After an exciting day you can have a nightcap in the hotel bar, that has a typical interior of an Amsterdam 'bruin café', which is characterized by wooden features and a cosy atmosphere. You can also enjoy some bistro dishes here in the evening time, the bar is open until 01:00 h.

ALEX 10 points for all: 2 May 2010; 10; + Situated in a quiet district on the outskirts of Amsterdam (near ring motorway), but in a few minutes from Schiphol. Easy to reach it either by tram, metro or car. Rich breakfast. Real rain in shower is absolutely fantastic !!! :-)

Barend Smit OK local - no aircon: 2 April 2010; 5.0; + Hotel is modern, clean with very friendly staff. Reasonably close to RAI wit acceptable travel time to city central; - Aircon? What aircon? The airconditioning is central in the building and if you prefer a room that is cool - your hotel fails miserably. The rooms are Petite putting it mildly

Luc Raeymaekers JULLIE HEBBEN MIJN VERJAARDAGSGESCHENK HELEMAAL VERKNALT!!!!: 7 July 2009; 5.4; + Vooral de ligging is een pluspunt:buiten de stad en toch vlot bereikbaar met het openbaar vervoer,ook de nabijheid van de Amstel en de groene omgeving zijn een niet te versmaden surplus na een dagje stappen in Amsterdam. Ontbijtbuffet was geweldig.Enorm aanbod en zeer smakelijk. Niet tegen staande deze grote pluspunten zal ik NOOIT nog boeken bij dit Mercure Hotel en waarschijnlijk ook niet in een ander Mercure hotel. Reden; Zie mijn commentaar bij de minpunten.; - Het hotel voldeed niet aan de verwachtingen omwille van volgende punten: -bij toekomst op kamer 1012 bleek er slechts één badjas en één paar slippers aanwezig te zijn. -Badhanddoeken,bekertje in de badkamer,enz... waren ook maar voor één persoon voorzien. -Op zondag 5 juli om 15u15 waren de bedden nog niet opgemaakt en ook de kamer was nog niet gereinigd.Gevolg:extra kosten aan de bar. -Na klacht,telefonisch en aan de balie is er direct iemand de kamer in orde gaan brengen. -Men zou ook een badjas en slippers voorzien voor de tweede persoon maar daar heb ik NIETS van gemerkt. Slotbedenking:WAS DEZE KAMER WEL VOORZIEN VOOR TWEE PERSONEN?De prijs was in ieder geval wel voor twee personen.

Diane Excellent service: 28 January 2009; 9.4; + SErvice, courtesy, comfort, aimability of people.; - No way to get anything to eat at night. This is difficult for jet-lagged people from other hemispheres. REfrigerator items too expensive.

Cilla: 20 July 2008; 7.6; + Bathtub. Our own mini safedeposit. Fast cleaning service. Very informative people in the information desc.; - Location. No store to be find somewere close to the hotel. Only one and it was Esso on the wrong side of the main road.

Carl: 7 July 2008; 8.2; + All things considered very good; - room 8002 had no air conditioning so had to move to room 8003 after already unpacking. Lift broke down so had to walk down eight flights of stairs. Coffee and milk was not replaced for the second day Awful drilling noise at approximately 08.00 on the second morning due to work being carried out on the outside of the building,we were hoping for a later rise.

David Zurhaar: 23 June 2008; 7.8; + Nice size and clean rooms. Easy to find and good access for public transportation.; - Service desk upon arrival had 2 people. One was a trainee and the other one completely ignored us. We had to wait while she was checking some papers and the trainee was helping someone else.

Belgian: 22 June 2008; 6.6; + especially the renovated room are excellent. the other are a bit expensive for the luxury you get.; - the menu in the restaurant downstairs does not change often, so not the ideal hotel if you stay ofter over several months

Mathieu: 4 May 2008; 8.4; + Good 4 star hotel, especially the newly renovated rooms are very much up to standard! Breakfast is very good and personnel is warm and friendly.; - It is a pity that there is no swimming pool in that hotel, but then again, not many 4 star hotels in Amsterdam have this.

Brian: 21 April 2008; 7.8; + 2nd time to stay at this hotel, nice rooms, double room actually means a double bed, not two singles, or two singles pushed together.; - A bit far from the city centre, but good access to the Ring if driving. Service in the bar is a bit slow.

Maire Eric: 17 December 2007; 8.0; + The special discount under 100 Euros is very much appreciated.; - My wife and myself spent a NOISY and VERY BAD NIGHT as the seal sound (Zegel geluid) of the left side of the left window was damaged ; then we had into our ears all the loud noise of the highway during the night and we only could get asleep very late, when less cars and trucks were going on this highway. I indicated the problem at the desk.

ruth gibbons: 17 September 2007; 9.4; + I enjoyed the tea and coffee beverages in the room. the free toiletries were pleasant and very indulgent I liked the decor style in the room and the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was lovely; - Not enough cream sticks to go with the tea and coffee, each day. I preferred having a choice of two teas not just earl gray. i didn't enjoy being woken at an early hour to pay the bill, because my card had been refused the day before I was leaving, I had explained that I was paying cash and card and travellers check, and so wouldn't be putting the entire amount on my credit card. I offered my passport as security, this was refused and I was urged to pay at least 400 euros there and then. Most unpleasant, as the receptionist said she thought I may leave without paying. I felt like a criminal or something.

Maria Coutinho: 4 June 2007; 5.0; + Even doe the hotel is not near the Amsterdam centre it is located in a very beautiful and peaceful area, and is a very nice 45 minutes walk to the centre. But for dose who don't like to walk it has a metro very near by and taxis parked in front of the hotel all the time. And you can always rent a car or bike.; - -The day we arrived, one of the bath towels weren't crystal white. It has some dark spots, which I don't understand how could they miss them when they where ironing it. -On the 3rd day there was a bath towel missing in a room for 2 persons. -One day they didn't clean the room and Never changed the sheets will we were there. Advice: You should, always, clean the rooms, change the sheets and stamped the toilet seat and the bath tube with a "DESINFECTED" sine.

Mike Newlove: 14 May 2007; 6.6; + Food in restaurant was very good. Room was serviced very well. Wireless internet access worked well. Breakfast was good.; - Receptionist sent me to the wrong lift 3 times as my card would not work in it. Didn't think his attitude towards me was very professional, and the mistake made me feel stupid. His apology was not made effectively. Receptionist was not very helpful with directions to my office. Far too noisy early in the morning, I struggled to sleep. Shower in bathroom was not very efficient or easy to use.

Robertson: 2 April 2007; 7.0; + The hotel was clean and tidy with a nice bar.; - I booked 2 separate rooms for a 2 night stay at the Mecure Amsterdam. However one of the rooms was not required because one of my companions broke their ankle and failed to make the trip. I informed the Hotel that I only needed 1 room and hoped to receive some kind of refund. I expected to pay 1 night for the empty room but NOT the full amount. The Hotel had an empty room for 2 nights and my expense. The hotel did not offer to re-let the room and therefore recover some of my costs.

Hrvoje Crvelin: 18 March 2007; 9.0; + Everything else.; - Drinks expensive. Double bed is not one huge but two small which are not fixed. No toilet brash.

Hakem Rustom: 12 November 2006; 5.0; + Staff are generally friendly and helpful, and the hotel is clean. Yet it seems they are understaffed, upon arrival, we waited 25 mins in line to be able to check in.; - -I was unable to open the safe box at 12 midnight, I had important items that I urgently needed, I was told by reception to wait till the morning. I was even told that "I should not have put them in the safe box." I wonder why they have safe boxes in rooms then?! -The room was in a non smoking floor, yet when I entered, it was very smoky. Room service should have informed reception about that, so the room can be ventilated before a new guest occupies the room. -It was my first time in Amsterdam, I did not realize that transportation was that expensive. I saved 30 Euros than staying around central station, yet I ended up paying 60 Euros in transporation because of our luggage. -The room was not up to the standard to other Mercure hotels I have stayed at in Eruope, specially Germany.

So therefore i was very pleased with how helpful you were wiht how to get to places and so on. I enjoyed my stay very much and it was an excellent location for us since we were going to a concert at the Arena. Just like to inform you that it does not take 1 hour to walk to Arena:) Only 35-40 minutes which is not much since we are used to walking.

Anonymous Comfortable hotel with good location, accuracy needed in the service.: 18 November 2011; 6.0; + The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was really good and there was many different options to choose.; - The hotel missed my reservation though I had got the confirmation. After many telephone calls they finally fixed the rooms but when we would check in there was again some price problems. Same thing was when we would check out, wrong prices on the receipts. The breakfast was good but really expensive.

Tamara Kat Zeer net hotel: 15 August 2011; 8.4; + Twinkamer gereserveerd. Deze waren volgeboekt waarna we een duurdere en betere kamer kregen. Weliswaar met een tweepersoons bed ipv 2, 1 persoons bedden. Kamer was heel netjes!; - De verandering van de kamer werd niet vermeld bij het inchecken.

Jan van de Ven Goed hotel voor 1a2 nachten: 30 May 2011; 7.8; + ontbijt was goed,; - kamers iets aan de kleine kant, als je de stad in wil moet je een taxi pakken.de drank aan de hotelbar is zeer hoog €6.50 voor een halve liter bier en €3.00 voor een cola.

Locatie was ideaal en goed bereikbaar met de auto.; - De sauna was echt onder de maat, er stond 1 cabine en het zag er heel oud uit. Ook de fitness was minimaal, slecht 2 apparaten. De service aan de balie was middelmatig. Je moet zelf overal om vragen. Ik had meer gastvrijheid en service van dit hotel verwacht.

Fien Goed kwalitatief hotel wat voor ons doel te ver van het centrum lag...: 29 November 2010; 7.6; + Wij vonden het personeel vriendelijk, vooral de ploeg die afgelopen zondag het ontbijt deed... bijn plezierig...; - Vind het niet kunnen dat er etensresten buiten een kamer staan op de zaterdagavond en deze er zondagmorgen nog staan... bah...

Renate: 22 November 2010; 7.6; + Ruime kamer met fijn bed,prima badkamer en mooi uitzicht.; - Schoonmaakpersoneel kwam meermalen zomaar de kamer in. Op de goeie etage belanden was een hele klus,de lift gaat waar ie zelf wil. Geen plek om veilig te roken,de directe omgeving van het hotel is niet veilig,geen bewaking,mijn tas werd geroofd bij de uitgang van het hotel.

Josephine Voor een kort verblijf een uitstekend hotel: 1 November 2010; 7.6; + Bereikbaarheid, voorzieningen; - Moeten betalen voor parkeren terwijl kamer al duur genoeg is. Het jonge personeel van de hotelbalie is net iets te jong en niet-geinteresseerd. Soms lijkt het wel alsof ze net uit bed komen na een lange nacht uit te zijn geweest.

Goed bed, goede douche (rainshower); - Prijs/kwaliteit ontbijt, ik vind de prijs van het ontbijt niet passen bij de kwaliteit, het ontbijt is niet slecht, maar gezien de prijs had et allemaal wat luxer mogen zijn en uitgebreider.

Kris Tip top: 6 September 2010; 9.2; + Het hotel is ideaal gelegen om Amsterdam te bezoeken. Vriendelijke ontvangst aan de receptie, mooie verzorgde kamers, erg vriendelijke medewerkers in de ontbijtruimte, ... eht alles tip top. Ons verblijf is voor herhaling vatbaar!
