+ tram 16 stops right opposite the door of the hotel, where you can catch it directly from centraal station. Only takes about fifteen minutes to get there. Great hotel if you're interested in museums and the Vondelpark is very close if you like nature. Ask for a room overlooking the garden. Ours was a good room. Very friendly staff.

- No kettle in room. you have to pay for coffee or tea. No other facilities (spa gym etc...)

+ This hotel had a great comfortable bed and was situated well - close to tram lines. The reception staff were friendly and helpful.

- Our hotel fee was charged as soon as we booked online (3 weeks prior to our stay) instead of at check out which was strange. Breakfast was not included in our booking deal and there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms. It would have been nice to have this facility. We were surprised that the hair dryer and television remote was collected at reception instead of available in the room.

+ Everyone is very friendly, helpfull, enyojing their work and making a very nice atmosphere in the hotel. The impression of hotel is fresh, colourfull and conected with greenery and being outside in the nature but yet in the city.Near to the tram station, nice garden, good food.

+ Good quiet location near the museums and the Concertgebouw hall. Very friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, good showers. We are a family of five with two teenage children and had two rooms. We really enjoyed everything about the hotel and would recommend it highly.

- Breakfast is expensive, so best to go across the road, but besides that, everything was great.

+ Lovely welcome from the reception staff. Great central location with surprisingly large bedroom looking out onto a quiet garden. Beatiful light and a wonderful clean comfortable bed. Everything you could ask for in a modern, functional hotel but not characterless. Bathroom was exceptional too. We had a 'hot deal' price and booked at short notice with no problems.

- I could not fault my stay and will recommend to anyone looking for a hotel in Amsterdam.

- Hotel is a fair distance from the centre of the city but the no. 5 tram runs right nearby and will take you to the heart of the city very quickly. Breakfast was maybe a little overpriced for what it was.

+ Location was very conventient for touring the city and quiet at night as it is on a side street. The front desk was very helpful. There were several good restaurants within easy walking distance. We would use it again when wanting to go to central Amsterdam

+ The proprietors of this hotel were really friendly and helpful which greatly enhanced our visit to beautiful Amsterdam. The room was small but clean and very close to museums and a lovely park. A great location if you want to be out of the busy,noisy centre.

- The trams were a bit too close for comfort in the early morning.

+ The room was very large with a nice little terrace in the back garden. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good. The location was great - right near the Van Gogh museum and with good tram links.

- We were woken up in the morning by noise (e.g. hoovering and other guests) outside our room. The room was expensive given that the furnishing and communal areas were quite basic.

+ What a great stay! The location is fabulous, right in the Museum area with great access to bus and other transportation. Also a grocery within walking distance and good restaurants. The price was right and we WILL stay here again. Ruel the manager was a star--he was great and absolutely made our stay more positive. The breakfast was also a treat--typical European fare: bread, meats and cheese, coffee and juice. A great way to start the day. I would give this hotel a great recommendation within its price range to other travelers.

- The only thing we would change would be the force of the hairdryer--a small item!

+ this is a wonderful hotel to stay in, the rooms are big and the beds are like heaven, the staff are so helpful and reception couldnt do enough for you. you could eat as much as you like for breakfast it was good. would highly recommence will go back again if ever in Amsterdam.

- Some of the corridors carpet need replacing.

+ When I arrived I was a bit ill due to the fact that I was in a van for three hours coming from the airport. It was marathon Sunday. The receptionist was most kind and got me a glass of water and checked me in quickly. The staff in general were very kind and helpful and I enjoyed my stay.

- I hate to be negative but there is one thing. The gentleman who takes care of the breakfast room was so unpleasant it made me uncomfortable. There was no chance to get a smile or even a hello out of him. I wondered what I had done wrong. Maybe because I was an American.

+ Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely big room. Good breakfast. Had early breakfast on last morning so we could catch our flight. Hotel was quiet at night. Excellent location. Recommend 'pizza cruise'.

- Inside of shower screen a bit mucky. Patio area outside our room had dirty ashtray with cigar stubs but these were very minor points and we didn't mention them to staff, who could not have been more cheerful and helpful.

+ This was a lovely hotel, the staff were very helpful and friendly, and the room was clean, well maintained and comfortable. It was out of the main centre so it was quiet, and it was very close to the museums and theatres. We loved it.

- The breakfast choice was a little limited, but the food they did have was lovely.

+ Great location for a good price. The cleaning staff were very nice, did a great job and were helpful about working around our schedule. The desk staff person there in the afternoon evening was WONDERFUL!

- The morning desk person when we checked out was HORRIBLE!!! He could not get our bills correct even though we checked on this earlier in our stay. He was messed them up horribly and although we allowed 20 minutes for this we were late for our scheduled taxi! Unfortunately it left a VERY bad last impression.

The room was spacious and classy with a traditional look about it.The hotel is fantastically located for the art side of the city. Transport to the city center is close by.

+ Reception staff very friendly. Assisted us in finding anything we asked about in the area. Good connections to tram- 5 minute ride to center of city. Tram 5 from central station to Museum Plein stops within 150 meters of hotel. Highly recommend- will stay here again.

+ I had strep throat when I arrived and the staff was AMAZING. They gave me tylenol, referred me to their hotel doctor and made sure I was okay. They were very helpful with directions. Our room had a beautiful view and it was the MOST COMFORTABLE HOTEL BED EVER!!!

- You need to take the tram to city center... It's not a big problem, the city is not very big and the hotel is just close to the museums.

+ VERY FRIENDLY STAFF, THEY REALLY COULDN'T HAVE BEEN MORE HELPFUL. I'VE STAYED IN AMSTERDAM AROUND 20 TIMES NOW AND THIS IS THE NICEST, FRIENDLIEST HOTEL I'VE BEEN IN.

- REMOTE CONTROL ON TV FAULTY SO COULDN'T ORDER MOVIES! THIS WAS THE ONLY FAULT....OBVIOUSLY VERY MINOR!!

+ Big bright room & good beds, 2 singles side by side making a large double (Room 101). Safe & small fridge for own use in the room. Wide range of breakfast choices though only drinks are hot. Great location for those wanting to visit Concertgebau, Van Gogh museum etc at Museumsplein.

- A little more care could be given in the bathroom to remove black mould from corners & the bottom tiles of the shower space. Carpet isn't spotless & shows some history of messy/unlucky guests.
