The Conscious Hotel Museum Square Amsterdam is an attractive hotel near the Museum Quarter. It has a spacious lounge and a cosy bar. The Antique Quarter, designer shops, the famous square Leidseplein and of course the three main museums of Amsterdam are within walking distance of the hotel.

The famous Amsterdam museums, the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Stedelijk Museum (modern art), are only a short walk away from Conscious Hotel Museum Square Amsterdam. It is also an excellent base for those who like to go shopping for the day because the designer shopping street P.C. Hooftstraat, the antique quarter het Spiegelkwartier, the Van Baerlestraat as well as the Leidsestraat are near the hotel.

In 2009 the hotel was rewarded with the Green Key certificate Gold. The hotel has a friendly and intimate bar. You will also feel at home in the spacious lounge. There is a garden and a terrace where breakfast is served when the sun is shining. The spacious rooms all have a shower or bath and toilet, hairdryer, tv, radio, telephone, WiFi, Pay-TV, coffee and tea making facilities and a free safe. The rooms are located at either the garden side or the street side. There is a 24 hour reception in the hotel. The staff are happy to help you find a suitable restaurant; book a tour or a visit to a tourist attraction. Or it is easy to rent a car of bicycle.

Food and Drinks

The hotel does not have a restaurant but there are many restaurants in Amsterdam and you will find that almost every kitchen is represented in the Dutch capital. Breakfast (buffet style) is served on weekdays between 07:00 and 10:00 h. and on the weekend between 07:00 and 11:00 h.

Internet

If you bring your own laptop you can use wireless internet at an additional charge via WiFi throughout the hotel. If your laptop does not have a wireless connection you can borrow one at the reception. There is an internet corner in the lobby as well.

Surroundings

There is enough to see and do in the near vicinity of Conscious Hotel Museum Square Amsterdam. You can go shopping for antiques in the Spiegelkwartier, visit museums, rest your feet at the Leidseplein, see a movie or go to the nearby Holland Casino. A visit to one of Europe's largest outdoor markets, the Albert Cuypmarkt in the characteristic quarter de Pijp is also recommended. If you would like to go for a stroll or a morning jog, you can try the Vondelpark, as it is only a 5-minute walk away. The Concertgebouw theatre is also near the hotel.

I could not fault this hotel

Lovely welcome from the reception staff. Great central location with surprisingly large bedroom looking out onto a quiet garden. Beatiful light and a wonderful clean comfortable bed. Everything you could ask for in a modern, functional hotel but not characterless. Bathroom was exceptional too. We had a 'hot deal' price and booked at short notice with no problems.

I could not fault my stay and will recommend to anyone looking for a hotel in Amsterdam.

Hotel is a fair distance from the centre of the city but the no. 5 tram runs right nearby and will take you to the heart of the city very quickly. Breakfast was maybe a little overpriced for what it was.

Location was very conventient for touring the city and quiet at night as it is on a side street. The front desk was very helpful. There were several good restaurants within easy walking distance. We would use it again when wanting to go to central Amsterdam

The proprietors of this hotel were really friendly and helpful which greatly enhanced our visit to beautiful Amsterdam. The room was small but clean and very close to museums and a lovely park. A great location if you want to be out of the busy,noisy centre.

The room was very large with a nice little terrace in the back garden. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good. The location was great - right near the Van Gogh museum and with good tram links.

We were woken up in the morning by noise (e.g. hoovering and other guests) outside our room. The room was expensive given that the furnishing and communal areas were quite basic.

What a great stay! The location is fabulous, right in the Museum area with great access to bus and other transportation. Also a grocery within walking distance and good restaurants. The price was right and we WILL stay here again. Ruel the manager was a star--he was great and absolutely made our stay more positive. The breakfast was also a treat--typical European fare: bread, meats and cheese, coffee and juice. A great way to start the day. I would give this hotel a great recommendation within its price range to other travelers.

The only thing we would change would be the force of the hairdryer--a small item!

this is a wonderful hotel to stay in, the rooms are big and the beds are like heaven, the staff are so helpful and reception couldnt do enough for you. you could eat as much as you like for breakfast it was good. would highly recommence will go back again if ever in Amsterdam.

When I arrived I was a bit ill due to the fact that I was in a van for three hours coming from the airport. It was marathon Sunday. The receptionist was most kind and got me a glass of water and checked me in quickly. The staff in general were very kind and helpful and I enjoyed my stay.

I hate to be negative but there is one thing. The gentleman who takes care of the breakfast room was so unpleasant it made me uncomfortable. There was no chance to get a smile or even a hello out of him. I wondered what I had done wrong. Maybe because I was an American.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely big room. Good breakfast. Had early breakfast on last morning so we could catch our flight. Hotel was quiet at night. Excellent location. Recommend 'pizza cruise'.

Inside of shower screen a bit mucky. Patio area outside our room had dirty ashtray with cigar stubs but these were very minor points and we didn't mention them to staff, who could not have been more cheerful and helpful.

This was a lovely hotel, the staff were very helpful and friendly, and the room was clean, well maintained and comfortable. It was out of the main centre so it was quiet, and it was very close to the museums and theatres. We loved it.

Great location for a good price. The cleaning staff were very nice, did a great job and were helpful about working around our schedule. The desk staff person there in the afternoon evening was WONDERFUL!

The morning desk person when we checked out was HORRIBLE!!! He could not get our bills correct even though we checked on this earlier in our stay. He was messed them up horribly and although we allowed 20 minutes for this we were late for our scheduled taxi! Unfortunately it left a VERY bad last impression.

Big bright room & good beds, 2 singles side by side making a large double (Room 101). Safe & small fridge for own use in the room. Wide range of breakfast choices though only drinks are hot. Great location for those wanting to visit Concertgebau, Van Gogh museum etc at Museumsplein.

A little more care could be given in the bathroom to remove black mould from corners & the bottom tiles of the shower space. Carpet isn't spotless & shows some history of messy/unlucky guests.

I've known some of the staff here for for a long time & get a bit of special service. I like the location for tram connections & concert hall.I've been a guest here for over 10 years. It is much improved[with the new owner] from the past 2 years. Good value for the price.

Cleaning service for rooms needs better follow-up. Tissues in bathroom not replaced when empty,ash tray emptied but not wiped clean,laundry bag & slip not replaced after used. Desk lamp bulb burned out on check in. Quiet rooms are in the rear of the building.

Even room was checked as non-smokers, when you entered into it there was a strong cigarette smell. Shower doors are almost broken Minibar refrigarator looks a little dirty
