NH Tropen Hotel Amsterdam

A bit pricy but however worth the money!

• + Very friendly service, clean places, coffee and tea in the room for free, nice view from our room in the seventh room! Nice peaceful area.
• – Location was a little far away from the centre, however a walking distance.

Friendly hotel near zoo, easy access to all of Amsterdam

• + Perfect location for a family trip. Near the zoo, and a park, a life sized chess board. And apparently soundproof so our Jetlagged 14month old didn't wake the neighbors! Easy access by tram to the whole city, tram 9 stops right out front. We would stay again

• + goede service: - toezicht bij opbergen en ophalen van bagage bij verlaten van de kamer na het toegestabe termijn. - bellen van taxi. - vriendelijk prersoneel.
• – -opnieuw moeten invoeren omdat de gegevens van een vorig bezoek aan NH-hotel te Arnhem weekend van 22 januari j.l.. - rooklucht op de gangen en in de kamer.

Pleasant and very convenient

• + Very good standing hotel next to the Tropen museum. At walking distance from Muiderport train station, and litteraly on the tram 9, which leads you right through the city center. Also, the staff was really friendly.
• – Not exactly cheap, and the free wifi in the lobby was very slow (paying wifi in the room is possible, with better bandwidth).

Easy location but there are some points to be considered!

• – - Bathrooms are very small, you can barely move inside the bathroom. - Pillows are too hard to sleep. - Room is very hot. Hotel should think about installing air conditioner.

Good value in a nice area

• + I really like this hotel and stay here often. It is good value, particularly if you book more than a week in advance, with larger than the average Amsterdam hotel room. Service is friendly and I like this part of town although it may not be central enough for some. It's a short tram ride to the centre.
• – Breaksfast is not included and rather expensive, although it is a good spread. I just skip it and have a broodje in a cafe, of which there are many near by - I recommend the Ponteneur. Maxwells and Boom.

Good quality price ratio !

Unsatisfactory hotel

• + Sadly none.
• – Far everything except the adjoining Tropen musem. Limited amenities in room (ex. no minibar), few international TV channels, no free internet. Deceptive internet policy; advertised as a flat rate for 24 hours but with a limit on speed and the amount downloaded...outrageous!

NL saving environment

• + Comfort, great view, great design, reasonable price, I appreciate you saving environments via limiting the heating and water use!
• – Maybe only the entrance from the Bus station - it is rather hidden.

the hotel is nice except for the hour of the availability of the room

• – We could not enter into the room at 3 pm and we even could not have any information about the hour we can do it, one hour and a half after, so we had to leave about one hour and a half because we were loosing time waiting ;it is not acceptable because you don't inform your client about this when you confirm the reservation. it is the reason why we consider the service is not so good. And also the room was dusty

Bem localizado, excelente vista e muito calmo.

• + Excelente vista, muito calmo e a uma distancia de 15mn a pé do Centro. Paragem tram à porta.
• – Falta de bicicletas para alugar.

good stay

• + location was good, rooms were clean, beds were good, quiet. price quality was good.
• – early in the morning the roommaid made a lot of noise, the bar was closed at 23.00 altough there were about 14 visitors at 22.30. The bar maid allready cleaned up the bar and wasn't all time behind the bar.

• + on arrival we were told that this hotel was fully booked and were transferred to NH City Centre Hotel by taxi. The City Centre Hotel was much better for us as it's location was excellent.

• + Nice, clean and quiet hotel room.
• – Breakfast was very expensive considering the standard. Internet very expensive, €10 for 1 hour and the considerable restrictions on use was VERY disappointing.

Good choice relative to other hotels in same price range

• + Good standard of room compared for similar priced rooms in the city. Most hotels in Amsterdam are terribly overpriced in my opinion though.
• – Breakfast was laughably expensive, you can be in a cafe in the plantage area in five minutes having a lovely broodje and coffee for a fraction of the money.

clean & comfortable

• + we were very greatful for the recommendation of a place to eat that was close handy. We don't speak the language & were reliant on local information where ever we stayed. The breakfast price was too expensive for us despit it's convenience especially with the exchange rate.
