+ friendly and helpful staff reception area is clean and neat price is reasonable
- small room housekeeping unable to really dust and vacuum the room sufficiently walls are thin and guests in other rooms and guests passing in the hallway can be heard
Anonymous Perfect location

+ very nice Staff Location
Katja Great location, great bed!
8.0
+ Location is perfect!
- Room is small, but that how is it in Amsterdam. Service is great for the nordic point of view - I'm sure small talk-orientaded persons might find service too passive.
Ammer You'll enjoy Amsterdam a lot more staying somewhere else!
4.8
+ Ive stayed at this hotel before and it is a decent hotel except our stay wasnt too pleasant this last time.
- I understand we stayed here during the week of Queen's Day so prices were going to be higher but we were over charged for a bed in an attic. The door couldnt even open two thirds of the way because it would hit the bed. My wife and I each had only one suitcase and with our bags there was never no room for the both of us to get dressed in the morning at the same time. There was no ventiliation in the room except for a skylight which if you opened it would cause dirt from the hotel's roof to fall directly onto our bed. With all this said and the heavy price tag for our stay there was no wi-fi for the entire 5-day stay and we'd ask daily if it was fixed and they would say "tomorrow".

+ nice place, both the hotel and the area, kind staff
- some repair of the inside could be much better, and also the cleaning, and a lot of stairs to the room
Frederick Smith Friendly & cheap
8.6
+ Cheaper than the rest and happy to book for just one night. Friendly helpful staff. Luggage room so you can leave your bag and see town on your last day. 24 hr reception.
- I stayed in the cheapest room, so I have no idea what their nicer rooms are like: My room was pretty basic and compact, but they made that clear when I booked it. The only slight gripe I would have is that the sound insulation between the rooms in the basement isn't great and the stairs down there are pretty steep. It suited me because I wanted to spend as much time as possible seeing Amsterdam and as little time as possible seeing the hotel!
J. + B. Enough for us
7.2
+ soft bed, near center
- very small, impossibility hide food in the fridge (unwillingness to adjust), dirty carpet in room
Jessica Burnstein Decent hotel in a good location
7.4
+ Friendly staff, great location, pretty clean and the beds are comfortable
- Very small rooms with few amenities and the internet was not working
Travis Laird Clean, budget hotel but leaves a LOT to be desired.
5.6
+ Clean, reception was open late, Relatively cheap (€49.00/night)
- No elevator, STEEP stairs, NO INTERNET, hard to find
Anita Correct service on correct price.
8.0
+ Helpful staff and peaceful location near to the citycentre.
Alex Brenton Only Fools and Horse Horror Hotel
4.4
+ Location was excellent, close to trams and the main square, hotel was cheap also.
- you buy cheap you get cheap and in this case it was true, room was tiny, there was a small cupboard and a small bathroom that had sink, toilet and shower combined. When we arrived the guy downstairs was rude and abrupt, again location was excellent but come to think of it for what you get the room was over priced.
truus zandstra Low budget top location
7.0
+ We love the fact it was close to the center and very quiet.
- When I called teh people onthe phone were not too friendly. The grouting of the shower was black, one light room did not work and the curtain hooks lots of them were missing
OSMAN Sergean Great location, dirty room
5.8
+ location, nice staff, accessability
- dirty walls, dirty laundry, too much heat, danger of flooding because of the bathroom floor, far too small table, poor lighting system, too big deposit for the remote control, remote control that doesn`t work,
Harmen Landman Good on paper, but bad shape
6.0
+ singleroom with private shower and toillet and tv is nice
- shower cabin was not flushing good, within 1 min. the water reached about 15 cm up your legs! And there were various leaking plumpings. Toiletflusher is ectric and very noisy through the night. So I had to remove the power from it to get some sleep. Very hot heatingpipes above the bed!!
Anonymous Go with a hostel
5.6
+ The staff was helpful to me when I asked them touristy information, and the hotel is located right next to the popular Leidsplein plaza and walking distance from the center of town (if you're intent on saving money).
- The Quentin England was in the top 3 cheapest hotels I have ever stayed in, for sure. There is a reason why the price is so low. The rooms are spartan, and they don't replace the cup you drink out of from day-to-day. The shower in our room was a spout, a curtain, and a drain next to the toilet. The walls are thin, and tv/breakfast is extra. If you can find a decent hostel, I'd recommend staying there.
Gui Don't book...
3.2
+ The location is aewsome!
- the room has very dirty walls, tv was no controller, telephone didn't work and the staff was not efficient.
Major Tom Nae moaning...its pure cheap!!!
9.0
+ Staff are brilliantly chilled out and relaxed, location is perfect for the price - everything is within walking disatnce and you're away from the madness, if you want to you can touch both sides of your room at the same time by lying down and stretching out a wee bit.
- The stairs/ladders to the top floor are brutal after a few joints!!!
Anonymous Low service, hight prices
3.6
+ Location
- The service was very unpleasent, they didn´t do the room, didn´t change the towels, they don´t let you to do local calls from the hotel, etc....
Jeannette Hamman An adventure
5.6
+ The staff were very friendly and helpful. The price was excellent.
- The directions on the web-site regarding how to get to the hotel from the airport were completely out of date, and therefore unusable. I ended up having to take a cab from the airport which cost me more than the price of my room.
Anonymous Basic hotel, good location
7.2
+ TV didn't work in first room so were upgraded to bigger room with ensuite.
- Ensuite had no fan. Got ridiculously hot. Cleaning staff made a lot of noise in morning and woke us up every time. No sheet provided for 2nd bed as we separated single beds. Towels were very small - hand towel size.
Christine Busette Great location but WARNING PAYMENT ON ARRIVAL!!
6.6
+ - Location - amazing - Outside terrace area
- - No prior warning that we had to pay on arrival, we had prepared for paying on departure so did not carry the adequate cash with us and their card machine was not working. - Tiny rooms
SIDE Nice expensive hotel
7.0
+ luggage room
- price of the breakfast broken tap room 309
Vítezslav Dirty room, no window, but very good location :)
3.2
+ Nice bathroom.
- 1. No window in the room - just very small window/hole on the roof (although there was a big window on the advertisement on hotels.nl). 2. The room was not clean on the day of our arrival. Hotel clerk refused to clean it (he said he can not leave his place at the desk and go upstairs), so we have to clean the room (after the previous guests) ourselves. But than hotel staff apologized and other days were fine.
Miss. Anne Harries Would not use again
3.2
+ Beds were comfortable. Location good
- compulsory paying when we arrived paying for breafast before we were given china and cutlery paying a 20 euro deposit for remote control for TV.Having to take our own luggage on last day down very steep wooden stairs to store it nad retrieve it Staff were quite pleasant but very scruffily dressed . On the whole not a pace i would recommend
Luciano Molina Nice stay at the Quentin England hotel
8.4
+ It's the second time my wife and I stay a few days at the Quentin England hotel and I think we will try to find a room there in our next trip too.
- The only real negative point was having the room at the fourth floor.
Anonymous Can't complain
5.4
+ room was clean. price was good in comparison to other capital cities i.e. london
- you were woke up around 7-8 am by kids at a nursey, building work or people walking past. When you had a shower it soaked the whole bathroom as there was no bath to stand in.

+ Good location. Fairly inexpensive.
- Rather dirty and foul smelling.

3.6
+ Very good location very close to leidesplein.
- Room was a disgrace, paid for a double room and got 2 singles and was told "Sure what can you do"? "Pus them together". Room wasn't often. bad smell from the hotel. Curtains were covered in blood and blood on the walls. Walls are paper thin, if someone opens the door next door, you will think its your own door!! 20Euro deposit on a remote that only works when it wants to!! one of the days we had to buy our own toilet paper, room hadn't been cleaned and it was 5pm. Baggage hold was terrible. Wardrobe v.small and only 4 hangers!! Bathroom has all one floor so if having a shower the whole floor gets soaked!! Staff not v.polite or helpful. Stairs on 4th floor is vertical, Best of luck with that one! Key to the room was bent. Lovely view of scaffolding.

+ very well located, near museums and q quiet environment. good breakfast
- our room was small

+ Very good price/quality ratio. Location is convenient, and even the cheapest rooms feature en-suite bathrooms.
- Those cheapest rooms are in a bit of a underground location; comfort is not perfect with the tiny window they have. Still, this was mentioned at the time of booking and therefore not a surprise.

7.6
+ Great value for a single room so close to Leidseplein.
- They are very firm about 2:00 PM check in; they do have a locked luggage room, however.

4.4
+ The room was clean and didn't have any bad smell.
- Hotel didn't have elevators. We had to go to the fourth floor with luggage by stairs. On the last day we drop our luggage in the locker room to spend the day in the city. When we were back someone broke a bottle of wine in that room and the wine spoiled half of my clothes.

+ The Quentin England is situated in a perfect central place, in a quiet street near to everything. It's a friendly and confortable hotel.
- The bedrooms are too small, and the bed is not so confortable. I think it should be a little bit cheaper like 30 euros or 35 euros maximum for a double room with shared facilities.
Eduardo Garcia
7.0
+ The hotel has a magnificent location as well as the price is affordable and simplifies their search through booking.
- So that the service is good, it's important to change the attitude of staff (reception) to be attentive an friendly. Greater care facilities (extractor lacked air in the toilet, the handle of the heater was broken, curtains were dirty and broken). I think that the hotel can be improved much since it has potential for the area in wich they are located and spaces are wide. Thanks and success in the business!

+ My arriving time was very late, and they were very helpfully.

6.6
+ The room was clean and pleasant.
- I requested a twin-room for me and my female friend during our stay. We understood that the toilet and shower facilities would be on the same floor, but the picture shown on the website of the room was nothing like the room we were given. It was a box room with two single beds very close together. The only way we could improve this was to upgrade the room.

+ Great location, near to all turistic points and very easy to get trams to all city!
- Room was not smelling very well, too small for a double and the bathroom did not have a shower place, that makes it as a swamp after the first person uses it!

+ * very clean * nice location
- * no window in the room, which was not mentioned on the web page

7.2
+ Good location near to museums, restaurants and all of Amsterdam which is surprisingly small. The quality of facilities and services are what you can expect for the price. Don't bother with the breakfast, walk towards the centre for better value and variety.
- Don't book a single room - the size is ridiculous and no windows.

+ Great location. Comfortable bed. Basic needs for a basic price.
- Staff were pretty moody. Our room was up a flight of very steep steps - Carrying luggage up them was a nightmare.

- The shower didn't work properly. Usually you got too hot or too cold water. The toilette/shower room was not cleaned during my stay. Towels were missing twice during a stay of five days.

4.2
+ Nice street and well located though.
- Overpriced. 5% additional charge for payment with credit card. Poor reception and management of rooms and strange concept of "upgrading". We ended up in a 4-bed dormitory when we wanted a twin bed room...

+ Excellent location!
- The single room I had was very small (about 3-4 square meters) + bathroom (1,5 square meters) and had NO WINDOWS!!! Maybe it would have been OK if they had mentioned that in the description of the room!
