Excellent value

I have stayed in around 15 hotels in Amsterdam over the last 15 years. When I return this week I will again be staying in the Roode Leeuw. Perfect location, comfortable room, excellent customer service.

The see through door between bathroom & bedroom may be strange to some guests.

a staff dispute over what time the drinks are served until. Very embarassin! Breakfast served until 10am but mostly gone before 9.30. Long list of rules in hotel guest book. Who is the customer!

Allowed us to securely store our bikes and the chaps we super helpful. Location, location, location (even had a McDonald's next door).

Good Central Location

The hotel is in an excellent location - just around the corner from Dam Square on the Damrak. It's a short walk to the train station providing easy access to the rest of the Netherlands for day trips. There is also a tram stop immediately in front of the hotel.

Excellent location for a weekend visit, many attractions within walking distance or trams readily available. Good security and mainly plesant & friendly staff easpecially the reception staff and concierge.

No hotel bar! Restaurant staff are obviously more used to dealing with business people, not people on weekend breaks wearing jeans, spoken to in a patronising manner on more than one occasion.

Location really central. Booking easy and all prices correct.

One room was obviously a smoking room. Another room was next to the lift and noisy at times during the night.
