- Very plesant stay in a very good hotel. I will stay there again if I will visit Amsterdam in the future.
- The only one I can think of is that the price of the internet connection in the room could be cheeper.

- Excellent value, great location
- Very classy hotel in the center of town. Would recommend it to anyone.
- I had one of the cheaper single rooms, with a slanted ceiling over the bed. Wouldn't recommend that particular room for tall people.

- Small room but nice location
- I got an excellent suggestion for the local Thai restaurant on the first night and generally the staff were helpful with directions. It was all very clean and noise free - in fact I wasn't used to the birds in the morning which were nice but woke me up with the window open. It was good to be out of the city and away from traffic. A few minutes walk to the tram and bus but that's fine.
- The room was small and I initially felt I didn't have good value for money but the pound did have a shocking exchange rate. I do recommend the hotel supply stronger light bulbs and perhaps put one in the wardrobe as the room was dark. I could have used a map of the area as I'd left mine behind.

- Immaculate room, very comfortable. Amenities in room commensurate with a larger hotel, i.e., TV, internet, etc. The concierge was very helpful in recommending a dinner location.
- It's in a very beautiful quiet neighborhood, a little far away from shopping, museums, nightlife, etc.

- the staff are excellent, they were extremely accommodating and helpful, room was delightful, location by Vondelpark is perfect for a brisk walk and duck watching, breakfast and dining room are great to wake up to
- taxi showed up early and breakfast was removed while struggling with luggage and nasty taxi driver, who by the way, said he had made arrangements with hotel for fare to be 35Euros when in fact his meter read 30.60, this was not discussed at the hotel and we doubted his honesty.

- I enjoyed staying somewhere with a bit of character for a change. Normally I travel with a small child and opt for something close to town and usully go for a big name chain like Ibis or Novotel in order to minimise walking/travelling distance but as I was travelling with only grown ups on this occasion we went for the Hotel Toro.

- Very nice location next to Vondelspark and a few short blocks to the Tram. Hotel staff was very friendly and readily assisted with any questions or requests.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Amsterdam! - Thank you!
- Would be nice if the hotel would have city maps with tram and other transportation information available to guests. We were able to find and purchase a map at the Tourist Information spot.
Hotel could also promote "I Amsterdam".

- Friendly, helpful staff. The honor bar is a big plus. Breakfast buffet very nice. Comfortable beds. A short and pleasant walk to the museums and the easy-to-use trams. Wonderful stay!
- We were at the hotel over New Year's. We'd asked a couple of staff members for recommendations on where to eat on New Year's Day, and they told us most restaurants would be closed, and that they'd been researching what was open, but weren't having much luck. Both advised we order in for food that day. Both showed us where the delivery menus were at the front desk. On the day itself we asked a third clerk for the menus, and she told us we were not permitted to order in, that they discouraged food in the rooms. She finally handed over a couple of menus, but was unpleasant.

- What an absolutely wonderful gem of a small hotel, tucked away in peace and quiet, spacious rooms, with lovely views over Vondelpark. The staff is wonderfully trained and helpful, the breakfast great, easy computer access in the library, a short walk to the main museums, a variety of first rate local restaurants.

- Nice atmospehere, Great staff. Wonderful surroundings.
- As fervent book reader I had a problem with really poor reading light. Might be a problem specific to room 115, seemed to be better in our friends room 119. Next time we would ask for a room towards the park since it makes dramatic difference.

- This pleasant house in a quiet residential area is a nice place to stay in Amsterdam if you don't need big-hotel facilities. It was easy to get into the centre by tram, or a nice walk through Vondelpark and along canals if you have an hour to spare. There are enough good restaurants nearby to eat locally, and the manager is knowledgeable. Most of the reception staff were friendly.
- Parking is always a problem in Amsterdam. Here it on the street - plenty of room - and you have to remember to buy a ticket every day and have enough coins to do so. The hotel could supply these... most days. At least it is "only" 12.60 per day in this area.
We found 12 Euro for breakfast a bit expensive, but there are enough cafes in town.

- The size of the rooms; the amenities included in the room; bed was comfortable. I wished I had more time to enjoy the hotel and park.
- The overhead light was quite dim, so it was still hard to see.
Maybe I missed it, but getting detailed directions to the hotel would have been very helpful. Specifically, something to explain how to get from the train station to the hotel via the tram. And in doing so, explaining the bus strip tickets.

- Staff is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Couldn't have asked for better service.
- I think the only negative was the location. It's a little out of the way. However, it is very close to the Vondelpark, which was nice. The non-centralized location isn't really an issue if you're looking for a quiet neighborhood outside of the hustle and bustle of the city center. In that case, it's an ideal location. Also, it's unfortunate that breakfast isn't included in the price of the room.
