For light travelers in healthy condition!

• + very close to Amsterdam Centraal and red light district
• – NO ELEVATOR!! had to carry our bags up four very steep flights of stairs
• * my tip if you can book the Travel Hotel Amsterdam at cheaper price (less than € 100.00) and travel light, or need an inexpensive place on short notice, you might consider this place. Just remember, you get what you paid for.

A budget hotel that offers a central location but poor value.

• + Good location room was clean
• – poor value for money vertiginous stair case blocked shower drain no hot water not enough blankets

• + -Nice bathroom -after a while of waiting, hot water at night -very good location
• – -paid wifi -weird smell in the room -thin walls, so you could hear anything on the hallway at night -booked a room with a double bed which was 5euros more expensive than 2 single beds. Double room was under construction so we got 2 separate beds anyway -older beds with super-soft mattresses that make your back hurt in the morning.

• – Incredible stairs! You must be sober and well rested to climb to the 5th floor.
• * my tip If you are young ,yes, if you are old , NO !!! This is a hotel for young people that don`t want to spend too much time in their hotel room.

• + Probably very good affordable hotel for students
• – The hotel should mention that they cater for young people and students. The hotel is certainly not suited for older people but that you cannot see on the internet while booking from abroad
• * my tip If you are over 30 do not use the hotel

Utterly foul backpackers hostel masquerading as a 'hotel'

• + The location is fantastic as you're right in the centre of Amsterdam and everything is on your doorstep.
• – The 'hotel' is actually a backpackers hostel and a very grubby one at that. The mattress was stained and the sheet didn't even cover it all, the bathroom had hairs on the tiles and there were rat-traps in the hall ways. I don't normally mind cheap hotels but this really was foul. The majority of the rooms ate dorms so the 'hotel', whilst quiet when you go to bed, gets very noisy at 2am not helped by a poorly shutting door that banged everytime anyone shut a door elsewhere. • * my tip Only stay here if you are in Amsterdam for only a night or 2 (believe me, you couldn't bear sleeping there for longer), REALLY cant afford more, and want easy access to the city. Otherwise, AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Extremely cheap, great location, spartan conditions

• + They say out of price, location, and amenities you can choose two. This place had THE best price I found online (surprisingly HALF of the cheapest quotes I could find elsewhere) and the location was IDEAL! Also, after reading reviews of unfriendly staff, I expected the worst. However, to the contrary, the front desk attendant was extremely pleasant and helpful!
• – This is essentially indoor camping. We got a room for 4 that was about 8 ft x 8ft with a tiny slit of a window that was sealed shut. Bathrooms were down the hall and shared for the floor. They were often out of toilette paper (so horde it!) and always had a wet floor from people showering. Also, the rooms start at the top of a narrow, winding staircase, so be ready to climb.

• + Really good location, excellent price and it was clean. That's all we needed.
• – The BELLS! BEWARE. If you fancy a lie in past 8'o'clock then take some ear plugs. Really close to the hotel and they ring every half hour.

Awesome place....horrible night staff

• + The location being right where you need it, michele the daytime staff being very helpful with us paying over split days. larger room than expected.
• – The nighttime lady (from new zealand) couldnt quite grasp the fact we were cold in MINUS 4 temperatures when asking for another blanket, bearing in mind these are as thin as the sheets you would put on your bed. she huffed and puffed and gave us an terrible attitude making us feel, less than welcome!

THE WORST HOTEL EVER!!

• – It was the worst hotel i ever been!! It was dirty, too small and no options of comfort

DON'T GO IN TRAVEL HOTEL

• + This hotel is well positioned.
• – Some mites have been found in the room by us. The pillow cases were dirty. The room was at fifth floor without elevator. No possibility to open the window. i think that 120 euro per night is too too too much for this hotel. If you don't find any other budget hotel, in my opinion, don't go in Amsterdam, absolutely!!!! I cannot understand how this website may advertise this hotel.

• – Our room had mice in it. We could here them scurrying around at night. Cleanliness was terrible. There was no storage for clothes apart from a small locker. Although the price was really cheap you do not expect to spend the weekend with mice.
