+ The location being right where you need it, michele the daytime staff being very helpful with us paying over split days. larger room than expected.

- The nighttime lady (from new zealand) couldnt quite grasp the fact we were cold in MINUS 4 temperatures when asking for another blanket, bearing in mind these are as thin as the sheets you would put on your bed. she huffed and puffed and gave us an terrible attitude making us feel, less than welcome!

+ The service at the desk was excellent. An effort was made to accommodate to my special needs (knee injury), but the room proposed had not been cleaned by he personel (!), so I was assigned to a room on the third floor instead. The toilet was clean.

- The room was quite run down, and a new coat of paint (rusty closets included) ang general upkeep would help.

+ Fresh towels daily. Perfect location for coffee shops and the red light district.

- Dirty walls and floor. Bad smell in the room on the first day. Paper thin walls.

- Stairs are quite steep, no lfit, difficult if you have suitcases getting to 5th floor.

- Do not expect your room to look ANYTHING like the pictures. Our room was a fraction of the size we were expecting. Receptionist laughed at me when I suggested what our room expectations were.

+ really good location, 2 minutes red light district /dam square/ have mcdonalds/subway restuarants bars basically next to hotel first coffe shop away only 2 doors down. Good for young couples.

- 4 sets of stairs to walk to room not bad if you dont mind excercise but little annoying.

+ Location of the hotel is great, very close to Central Station and only 3 mins walk from Dam square. The room I stayed is was clean with comfortable beds.

- No Breakfast, but no problems as within a couple of minutes walk there are lots of places to eat.

+ Fantastic location, 24 hour bar, some staff are very friendly indeed. Great for a group or couple that want a cheap place to stay which is nice and close to the RLD. Very good for a 2 star.

- Walls are paper thin, but by the time you should be going to bed in amsterdam this shouldnt really be too much of an issue. Beds were a little uncomfortable and i suppose i could complain about the stairs as well but nothing that really outweights the good.

+ Location, flexible with change of dates.

- Very rude female receptionist who snapped at us for asking to use the microwave, if this is not allowed then simply tell us so. Alternatively if it is allowed then she should have hid her frustrations rather than showing it infront of us and making us feel awkward. Our flight was not till 6pm yet there was no option for us to leave our bags at the hotel after checking out at 10am. Given that we stayed for 9 days, allowing us to leave our bags in the lockers of our room and collecting them before 2 pm (before the next group checks in) would have been reasonable in my opinion and not affected thje cleaning of the apartment.

+ Refunded me all of my money back

- The reception was understaffed and the receptionist was too busy deal with the level of customers coming and going as well as any issues or problems the guests had, and was also quite rude. There was no staff at bar as she was the receptionist too. 5 flights of stairs, no elevator and the gradients increase as you go up. Cold, damp and smelly room and the En Suite was just a boxed in lavatory. My girlfriend and i were absolutely horrified at the room and couldnt get out of there quick enough!! Oh and you have to pay on arrival; never a good indication for a good standard of hotel.

+ The location could not be more central! The rooms were clean and tidy, for a budget hotel the room are ok but I think are overpriced. Some staff were lovely but others not so helpful.

- Booked a double room then were given a twin room, couldn't even put the beds together 'cause the room wasn't wide enough! Toilet was incredibly dirty.

Agnes Decent place for backbackers, as you get the full red-light-vibe.

+ Very central as well as close to the central station. VERY friendly towards joints. Nice, decent common room for just hanging out.

- VERY friendly towards joints, constant sounds all around, you need earplugs to sleep. Few of the common showers were functioning. The city tax of 10% is not included in the original price, plus they want a deposit when you get there.

+ It was one of the cheapest things we could find, and it was actually quite cheap. We got exactly wat we payed for, a bed, a toilet and a shower. It was clean, and it was quiet. Very nice.

- Theres a lot of steep stairs, bur for us it was not a problem.

+ The room seemed secure and safe (key-card to get in), comfortable bed (!), clean sheets/towels (!), clean bathrooms(!), windows that open (it was warm out), 24 hour security at the front desk (they only let guests and friends into the stairwell that goes to the rooms - it's through a locked door that they open), 24 hour checkin/checkout

- Stairs were a bit steep (but I think this is typical in amsterdam buildings), TV didn't work (but then again, you're not going to amsterdam to watch tv...)

+ Pour qqles jours entre jeunes avec budget étudiant c'est parfait (25euros la nuit!), l'hotel est dans la rue parallèle de celle des coffee shops, il est plutot bien situé.

- L'accueil était glacial, il n'y a que des jeunes donc l'hotesse ne nous traite pas comme des adultes, c'est limite si une fois elle nous a pas crié dessus... La chambre a l'air propre mais faut pas regarder sous le lit ni dans les coins... C'est très bruyant, ambiance colo dans les couloirs, mais ca ne nous a pas dérangé. Je ne le conseille à aucune famille, ni couple.

+ Was quite impressed. Location was excellent, friendly staff, pretty clean. Couldn't ask for more for price.

- Lots of stairs! And the church bells were annoying at first, but you do get used to them.

+ perfect location 5 minutes walk from central station. bars and coffee shops nearby. doors open 24 hours. relaxed athmosphere. basic but clean and perfect for people who want to experience amsterdam and use the hostel as a base.

- not enough head space to sit on bottom bunk and relax and bunk beds are squeaky. annoying when you are just about to go to sleep and the person in the top bunk rolls over!

+ The hotel is no-nonsense - easy to find, no hassle. There's a pool table and bar 24hr access Clean room, towels, sheets etc.

- The stairs! - They are very steep and someone with walking difficulties etc would find it quite difficult to get up them. (The TV didn't work either - but we didn't complain as we weren't that bothered)

- stayed here before though only 2nd floor though going to the forth was a bit of a strugle . room was adequate very little xtras and room windon was a foot away from next builings window which had loud music/tv on most of the time .

- Not very clean, they couldn't hold our luggages for 2 hours(they said they didn't have enough space for 2 small baggages!!!, which was obviously not true), so we had to pay another 7 euros at centraal station), they put us in the 5th floor..., no elevator of course.

+ The staff : very welcoming the location was very great

- Normally, a person pay 300€ for this double room. I think it's really too expensive regarding to the comfort of the room, the fact that there isn't toilet and shower in the room. There isn't any air ventilation in the bathroom. So if somebody takes a very hot shower, the bathroom stays very hot for a long long time. The bed were too smooth, not very comfortable.

- Price was expensive for a single room, and the room was extremely small. The 3-person dorm might be a better value.

+ really good location right in the centre of everything you could want. for the price was great, really clean and had no trouble with service. 24 hour bar and repection with computer. ideal for a young group of friends looking for somewhere to stay

- THE STAIRS!!!!! but that is everywere in amsterdam they were killers. a big problem was that although it had on the contract it wasn't explained fully that we hadn't paid beforehand and therefore had to pay when we got there.

+ The location is fantastic. Only 5 minutes walk from central station. Close to all amenities and sights. Great bars, cafes,and restuarants on your doorstep. The hotel has a 24hr bar and a drinks/snacks machine in foyer. It's a good budget/travellers hotel.

- we stayed in room 4008. Unfortunately on entering our room there was a sickening smell, which was blamed on the drains. We couldn't get a change of room anywhere else in that hotel or anywhere else in amsterdam.It wasnt fixed untill the third day of our break. We bought plug in air fresheners but they didnt do much good. We only used the room to sleep in really, so it didnt spoil our break. Our toilet was along the corridor and not in the room but i think we had the sole use of it. The bedding hadnt been changed since the last person stayed as i had cigarette ash in my bed. my mate got some hair. Our room was on the fourth floor which was fine for us, but older folk may struggle as there is no lift and the stairs have a very steep incline.In their defence, I have stayed there before and it was fine. I think that we were just unlucky this time. Other people that i spoke to had said that their room was fine. I would stay there again no problem and if people remember that it's a budget hotel before they enter, then they shouldn't be too dissapointed.

+ it is placed in the center of the city, near the station, which means that it is very useful and comfortable for travelers.

- The hotel is unconfortable there are many stairs you have to walk with your luggage, rooms are not very comfortable and it is a bit expensive. If we have booked a room with private bath we don't understand the toilet were out and we only had a shower and a place to wash your hands.

+ Location was excellent. Price was cheap for Amsterdam. Some of the staff were particularly friendly, especially Marianne.

- There was some rubbish (cigarette butts, plastic bottles and wrappers) on the roof visible from our fifth floor window. Might have been a bit whiffy on a hot day.

+ Location. It is just a few minutes walking from the Central station.

- Very noisy. We stayed in a double bed room and we could hear other people snoring, making love and walking through the corridor and stairs. The stairs is another minus point. Therefore, it is a one night hotel (maximum) if you want stay in tne center.
