Low budget hotel Y-Boulevard Amsterdam

Dont mind to go only if you are in condition of intoxication.

• + Close to railway station and main street of the port. Very close to the interesting quarters.
• – Dirty, damages on the wall and floor.
• * my tip Everything is within 2km approx. Quite good St. Maria Argentinian restaurant at Rembrant square.

• + great location. Would recommend this hotel only as an affordable option to stay in the center of Amsterdam and close to the central station
• – Dirty, feels like the owner doesn't really care about this hotel and its services. Just bad vibe in general.

Sin lujos pero perfecto para dormir

• + buena ubicación, buena calidad- precio y buen desayuno. Los dos recepcionistas excelentes. El hotel es antiguo y un poco cutre, pero limpio. Con lo que se paga, no se pueden pedir lujos. Todo correcto
• – No hay. Por decir algo, la calefacción estaba muy fuerte, pero con abrir un poco las ventanas ya se soluciona.
• * my tip Está muy cerca del barrio Rojo y de la plaza Damm, unos cinco minutos andando y al ladito de la Central Station

• + earlier breakfast on request possible location (however it's not exactly where the map says...GPS 52.374003,4.905956)
• – no lift, steep stairs, if you live in th top floor like me and have a big luggage, it's pain in the a** the window in the room has a single glass=>cold, hear loud cars in November the heating was not on=>cold

Nice Breakfast, Our room clean but door a little tight

• + Good breakfast for budget hotel, quiet area but still close to station. Adequate and hot shower, clean towels daily and comfortable clean bed. Free WiFi!
• – Wardrobe too small for shirts, but they hung OK on TV bracket. Floor outside shower a bit damp, door to room very stiff.

• – service poor and unorganized. room was not maintained (walls very dirty, needed painting, bed broken). It was a shame to have such a nice building in a very convenient location be so misused. Even at 80 euros/night it was not value for euro.

Not luxury, but good enough

• + It was convenient and available, easy to get to. Breakfast was included - not luxurious but adequate.
• – I needed a room at a time when a large convention was in town and all the hotels were filled. This was the only room available at the time, at the price range that I needed. Don't have very high expectations and you won't be disappointed.

• + Breakfast was ok.
• – Floors, walls and bed end were dirty. There were trashes from the previous hotel guests (under the bed, behind the radiator, on the window board were even somebodys eated chewing gum!). The drain on the shower were plugged so we have to take shower when there were dirty water up to our ankles. Not so nice :/

A slightly rundown hotel in a good location.

• + The gentleman on the reception could not have been more helpful. The dining area had some positive points. The location of the hotel is a major plus point, very handy for Central Station.
• – The hotel interior is a little rundown and needs upgrading. Our room (No 32) had a rather unpleasant odour when ever the door to the shower and toilet area was open.

• – poor hygiene - hotel smells; dirty beddings from rooms can be found lying on the basement Aile; carpet all over are very old. hotel needs renovation.

Good location, Helpfull staff, Decor needs renewing

• + Good location. Helpfull, friendly reception staff. Breakfast included. Wi-Fi in reception/bar. Suited me for the location and price paid.
• – Staircase carpet worn. Bathroom fittings need mending, although useable.

Recomended

• + Very Frindly staff, goog breakfast, confy beds & as asked for a double, 5 mins walk to centre

Pros and Cons of Hotel - Y- Boulevard

• + The breakfast included in the price of the room was good - there was a decent selection of foods and drinks. The staff were friendly and helpful.
• – We were originally put in a room with two single beds after specifying a large bed (double) so had to change on the second day. The room we were put in then had a double bed but the shower was rubbish in comparison to the original room we stayed in; it kept going hot and cold on us no matter what time of the day or night. There seemed to be no standard in the rooms as the curtains were falling down and knackered in the first room but fine in the second room and, as mentioned, the standard of showers in the two rooms varied enormously. Unfortunately when we returned home we both had itchy patches on our backs and arms which suggests that the room(s) may have had bedbugs which bit us. There are pros and cons of staying there.

• – Room does not match photographs on website, there was only one light in room, no trash bins, beds were very old, room smelled bad, carpet was threadbare and stained

• + Loved this hotel!! Very basic but a great atmoshpere and good location. Good for groups of people as we had a 'dorm style' room which was great fun. Friendly staff who were keen to help. Good price for what you pay for. Would definitely consider staying again next time we vist Amsterdam!
• – Some things could be fixed very easily with a screw driver! A bit run down but has character and it's a good place to stay for a low price. Shower did leak into the reception area through the floor and not 100% clean

It depends which room you get

• – Room 1 - Cold bedroom, cold shower, mattress didnt fit bed, bedside lights didn't work. Room 2 - Very nice and comfortable, maybe a bit too hot but otherwise a very comfortable room. Both rooms were the same price.

Think twice

• + Really well situated, good heating in the room
• – Not enough comfort for the money, not very helpful receptionist, ugly room in the basement, two separated beds although ordered one big bed

Good for friends

• + Great location, staff really gentle and helpful, perfect room just for sleeping and being outside all day long.
• – Some blood on a bed, bathroom door impossible to close.
