Den Burg, where half of the population on Texel resides, is situated in the middle of Texel. The green environment draws a lot of tourists, resulting in a great amount of shops and commercial infrastructure. The area lends itself perfectly for hiking and biking as well. On top of this Texel is known for its rich stock of cattle, predominantly sheep, producing meat and cheese.
The building in which Hotel De Lindeboom Texel is located was once adjacent to the former city hall of the community. Nowadays, the current city hall still is located in Den Burg. One of the conference rooms in the hotel, the 'Schoutenzaal' is enriched with a rear wall that stems from 1787 and presents a beautiful entourage. The room however, is equipped with all the present-day comforts and facilitates in various kinds of meetings, weddings or intimate dinners. Additionally, the rooms are equipped with airconditioning, desk, bathroom with toilet, bath and/or shower, Internet connection, cable television, hair dryer, soundproof windows and a seat. The extensive 'Texel breakfast buffet' is prepared for you between 08:00 and 10:00 h. , but earlier or later breakfast can also be arranged. The day can be started in style with the extensive breakfast in the 'Serre Restaurant'. The restaurant in a conservatory is a tranquil place to read a paper and have a soothing cup of coffee. In classical oriented restaurant you can enjoy specialties from Texel, under which the famous lamb meat. The restaurant is open from 12:00 to 23:00 h. and the kitchen is open from 17:30 to 21:00 h. Bistro and bar the 'Schoutenhuys' offers a wide variety of meals and drinks with a large choice in special beers and no less than 50 'Texel' drinks. The cosy and inviting atmosphere makes the café very suitable for receptions and meetings of any kind. The same cosiness can be found at the 'Café Brasserie' with beautiful stained glass windows and a dark wood interior. Lunches, dinner and beverages are tastefully presented here.

At a distance of a few miles the dunes of Texel, that separate the island from the sea, can be found.
