The staff were friendly, courteous, and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and unpressurised. If we return to Oosterbeek we would certainly stay again.

On the Sunday evening our room was a little bit cold although we acknowledge that the weather generally had turned very cold the day previously. To be honest we wondered if the heating had been reduced because the hotel was much emptier after the Sunday when most people had left.

Very comfortable hotel in lovely grounds

Lovely location and grounds. Food at buffet meal on first night was very good and price, which include two glasses of wine, was quite reasonable. Breakfast was excellent. Liked the artistic glass pieces on display in public areas.

Would have liked tea/coffee making facilities which are only available in 'upgraded' rooms. Disappointed that on our second morning we were unable to get a table in either restaurant for that night and lack of suitable tables and chairs in lounge area made bar menu unattractive proposition. Also service in lounge area was slow and disorganised. (We went without a meal that night and made do with snacks we had in our room.)

A nice place to stay but has some drawbacks

If you are looking for out of the way places to rest in the seclusion of the forest and wooded areas this is a nice place.You will find serinity here. Everyone bikes all around and the bike paths are amazing and fantastic. It is 1.5 miles from the train station and 4 miles from a town that has a market and a few wonderful restaurants. All driving to these places is easy and BEAUTIFUL. It is far away from the city life and the drive to town is beautiful. We needed to leave every day in the morning before the breakfast area was open, so the staff made breakfast baskets for each of us that was very tastey and complete. Nice of them to do that for us. The staff was very helpful and friendly and they all spoke english. There were many problems and they went out of their way to try and fix what ever they could.

There was limited parking and you had to park away from hotel and that was hard when you had luggage to bring in. Their food was expensive so you had to drive to the next town to get meals cheaper. But you can get to that market 4 miles away in Oosterbek. For the rooms-They tried to give us a room with a sewer problem and it smelled and the rug had a water stain on it from problems. But we declined and they gave us another room which was acceptable. There is no air conditioning but that is typical of Europe. You could open the windows but there were no screens so bugs could fly in. We did arrive at 9 a.m. and hoped that the room may be available. But it was not. So they said to com back at 2p.m. when they published rooms would be ready. The rooms were not ready at 2 p.m. and they said to wait 20 minutes. That came and went several times. So we had to wait until 3:30 to get in our rooms. We explained we only had one hour to get washed up and ready for a special banquet we had to go to. And that didn't move things along at all. Be prepared for a late arrival to get into your room to avoid that. Many of our friends had the same problem. We brought our dog. There wasn't really any place to take the dog to eliminate quickly. In the morning I had to take her out to this small strip of grass 6 inches wide on a road way across the street. That was it. Yes they have lovely grounds and place for the dogs to run but not easy to get to at all. And not easy to get the dog to when they have to go to the bathroom fast. My dog had to learn to go on the concrete, which she doesn't do.

Volgens het boekingsformulier hadden we een kamer in het gebouw 4 Linden met bedstee. Dat leek ons leuk maar bij aankomst in het kregen we een kleine kamer (leek een beetje op een zolderkamer) in het hotel zelf. Is op zich geen probleem maar zo stond het niet in de boeking. Het hotel was telefonisch niet bereikbaar vrijdag d.d. 22-1-2010. We wilden even bellen dat we wat later die avond aankwamen. Wel gevraagd hoe dat kon maar werd een beetje afgewimpeld van "er waren wat problemen met uitbellen...". Ook deed de pinautomaat voor de Creditcard het niet. Ze hadden er al een tijdje problemen mee....Dan denk ik: zorg dat het wel werkt...

BIG ROOM, GOOD FACILITIES. EXCELLENT POOL AND GYM. GOOD BUT BASIC BREAKFAST. REASONABLE PRICES FOR BIKE HIRE. FREE INTERNET.

Public can use Gym and Pool. Room was set at 24deg, with no way of cooling it as this is apparently set by the management. Why bother to have aircon. Poor toiletries and poor quality towels.

Landgoed Avegoor has a beautiful location near Arnhem and Zutphen. This country estate can be found in a woody area in the area <i>De Veluwe</i>, and belonged to the Dutch royal family from 1648 to 1800. Besides the beautiful surroundings, the hotel offers culinary delight in its three restaurants.

Restaurants and Bistro Bar were very impressive. Good food and good atmosphere and music in the Bistro Bar.

The bedroom blocks spoiled the quality of the hotel. Would not give the hotel 4 stars due to the lesser quality of the bedrooms. The bedroom and the beds were poor. Bedding/covers smelled. Not convinced that the bed covers had been cleaned recently.

The hotel is located in a very charming location in the countryside with easy access (by car) to Arnhem, the Openlucht museum and the Hoge Veluwe parks. The rooms are spacious and the hotel grounds are very welcoming. The hotel has an indoor pool open until late in the evening. Reception staff was very polite and efficient.

The rooms are fairly old. Hygiene standards were low - the room was not properly cleaned, spoilt milk was served at breakfast as was an old fruit salad. Overall, breakfast room staff and housekeeping were of a relatively poor standard, not worthy of a 4 star hotel.
