In the à la carte restaurant "De La Paix" guests can enjoy dishes that have been prepared on the spot, in the open cooking area. This created the informal atmosphere that makes this restaurant so special. The friendly approach from the staff adds a little extra to it as well.
The Scottish Whiskey Bar offers a hundred kind of whiskeys, a true delight for conoisseurs. There is a small menu with snacks like Spanish tapas, light meals, and salads.

- It was a nice, clean hotel. We would consider coming back.
- I was disappointed, given that we purposely sought one of the best rooms, that we did not even get free coffee, let alone breakfast - given that the room was quite expensive.
Also, the pillows were very stiff. You might want to consider the Hilton's "pillow menu" option to allow guests to request pillow choices. I had a stiff neck for two days. Otherwise, it was a very nice stay.

- The free upgrade that we received and the welcoming reception staff. The level of comfort and the surroundings of the Hotel are always very good.

Breakfast was very expensive so we did not use it.
No newspaper was supplied to room despite saying we were entitled to one on our booking.
No turn down service at weekend was unusual. Never had that in an hotel before.

- Nice, quiet, room # 618 facing the backside of the hotel . Comfortable bed,free snack, chocolate, minibar. A spacious room. Clean room and hotel all over. We had a very late meal the 1st night, and ordered soup in the beautiful restaurant. We were offered lots of bread rolls with it so we should not wake up hungry during the night. Very helpful and informative staff. We really loved this hotel. Very good location for our purpose for our stay in Haarlem. Great stay all in all!

Generally, we found it strange in Holland that the hotels restaurant and bars shut early on New Years Eve. Nearly everywhere else in the world, this is a peak time for restaurants and hotels to make more money by provoding New Years parties. When I booked this hotel I was told that the restaurant would be closing at 17.00hrs. but on arrival there was a display board in the foyer saying that the restaurant would close at 21.00hrs - by this time we had made other plans for that evening. This must have been similar for other guests as well as the hotel restaurant was like a "ghost town".

- Tot tweemaal toe een mindere kamer toegewezen gekregen
- Je loopt vanuit het hotel zo het centrum in (enige nadeel is wel dat de meeste restaurantjes aan de andere kant van de winkelstraat liggen en da's best een hele tippel).
De executive kamer is echt mooi ruim en heeft een luxe uitstraling.
- De receptioniste probeerde ons tot twee keer toe een kamer toe te wijzen die een klasse lager was dan welke we hadden geboekt. De eerste kamer had een bed van 1 meter 40 breed, de tweede kamer, de ‘Suite’ (net of ze ons een plezier deed), was een bedompt hok met cheezy hemelbed, ingericht in de kleuren oud-roze en goud. Pas in derde instantie kregen we de kamer die we geboekt hadden. Als we een beetje minder assertief waren geweest (twee keer om een andere kamer vragen doen volgens mij niet heel veel mensen), hadden we ons gewoon wat op de mouw laten spelden. Wees dus alert dat je daadwerkelijk krijgt waar je voor betaalt in dit hotel!

- Slechts een nacht geweest, maar aagezien ik uitvoerig in andere landen and hotels ben geweest, behoort dit hotel by groep goed to uitstekend.
- De beschikbaarheid om koffie and thee te maken is erg weining ( ik had genoeg om een kop koffie te maken...) and misschien zou de minibar wat uitgebreider worden gemaakt.
Het ontbijt voor mij was genoeg and voldoende uitgebreid maar voor bijvoorbeeld Amerikanen geloof ik niet op de vereiste standaard.
Mijn persoonlyke mening is dat het standaard tarief misschien een beetje te hoog ligt.

Was verbaasd over de zwakke organisatie van het ontbijt, lange wachtrijen ,ontbreken van borden, jampotjes. Alles in hoekvorm opgesteld dus van 1 kant bereikbaar. Men weet precies hoeveel mensen in het hotel verblijven dus daar kun je je op voorbereiden.
