+ close to old city and train station

- For saying this was supposed to be a 5 STAR!! we were not impresed at all, fist the plug in the bathroom was broken didnt let water out and staff forgot about it!! ended up changing rooms to the 5th floor, there was a smell of burning plastic on the 2nd floor, fth floor room was better but it was no 5 star, a good 3 maby a cyty 4 but no 5, there was no smoking rooms, overpriced menu room service CHARGE???

+ Very convenient stop over from Schiphol - via rail (20 mins) Ideal in chaotic snowy weather. Just across the road from Leiden station.

- Perhaps a little stated here and there ( i.e. could do with a freshen up / re-fit). This is not a serious negative.

+ Nice to be within close walking distance of the train station. It was nice they let us check in at 11am after a long flight from the USA. The breakfast was quite good.

- The bed was a little more firm than I prefer.

+ Very close to the Leiden Centraal Station which is the departure point for buses to Keukenhof Garden. This was especially appreciated on a rainy Easter weekend. The staff was efficient and polite. The price was a bargain for Easter weekend. The hotel is also convenient for exploring in the city and is close to the University.

+ Location is great and the front desk is very helpful.

- Soap was replaced every day even if we had not used it all. Lights in the room need rewiring. Bed side light on right side of bed as you face it was controlled by the switch on the other side of the bed. Very annoying when one wants to read at night.

+ Great location, close to the station and only a short walk to town. The room was nice and neat - well fit out, as was the bathroom. Staff were mostly friendly and helpful.

- The sensor on the bathroom light could be a bit annoying if someone got up in the middle of the night, especially the delay in turning off. Once staff member was a bit surly but that seemed to be out of character with the Dutch people who in general I found to be quite friendly.

+ 1. I booked for a business room and they gave me a regular room, giving not clear explanation. 2. People at reception desk absoloutely not nice, as experienced either on this last occasion or in a previous one in May 2008. 3. Rooms, at least which ones I have been, not nice and expensive for what they are. 4. The location is excellent, close to central station and LUMC and to the center, maybe some change in rooms and people would be needed. I would clearly not go back to this hotel.

- The location is rather bad when you have room out to the main road!!! I did not sleep well in my 3 nights stay in the hotel.In your describtion you say every room is recently renovated, but my room was not!!! And I would not call the room a superior room in my opinion it was a normal double room.

+ Staff were friendly and helpful, room was cleaned each day and towels exchanged. General hotel cleanliness was good too. Breakfast had ample choice. Room request was acknowledged and recognised for quietness.

- If late at breakfast there didn't seem to be a place laid, although when asked it was immediately put right.

+ Close to the train station, friendly and helpful staff and good selection for breakfast (and two awesome giant stuffed toy bears in the restaturant area)

- WIRED internet connection which had to be paid for in ONE HOUR or TWENTY FOUR HOUR blocks (starting from time of login and finishing ONE or TWENTY FOUR hours later, regardless of use or lack thereof). Also bed sheet had a coffee stain on it, so I assume it hadn't been changed after the previous guest.

+ The bed rooms are clean and comfortable, but spartan. Very conveniently situated, though traffic and train noise disturbed me in the night. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Comfortable lounge. Will definitely use the hotel again.

- It is not really a four star hotel. Directions for broadband connection were poor and I was unable to make the link work.

+ Great location. Pleasant staff. Comfortable beds and clean.

- Our checkout bill reflected 175 euros in over-charges.....there was a 112 bar bill for 4 bottles of liquor charged to our name, 4 breakfasts we did not eat, and another small misc. bar bill. The clerk produced a typed receipt for the bar bill with our name....but it was still fradulent. They did delete these charges, but we were quite shocked.

- was generally unimpressed with the cleanliness of the hotel. There was mould on the ceiling in bathroom, the skirting boards and carpets alongside them looked as though they could do with a good hoover. Minibar with no bottle opener? TV did not receive all the channels advertised Surely must be more than one lift for service staff to use in the morning. They never once offered to leave the "tiny" lift in order that guests could use it. Bed felt quite soft but that is a personal thing.

+ Friendly and approachable staff. Arranged for us to have our room by noon on our day of arrival. Parking was very convenient. Room was clean and comfortable. The location was ideal for our purpose.

+ central location

- We stayed in this hotel in a party of 4 - 2 double rooms were booked, one for a full weekend and the other room for one night, this was a 30th wedding annivsary celebration. On arrivial only one room was available as there was an over-booking. Due to a busy weekend,the hotel failed to find alternative accommodation and the 2nd couple had to travel to Breada to get a room. Needless to say, this took the joy from this special visit, regardless of how comfortable the hotel was!

+ Hele nette kamer, Wij hadden een vrij nieuwe kamer dus alles was nog mooi. Geen lawaai van buiten en een airco die prima werkte. Goede bedden. Erg vriendelijk personeel. Prima ontbijt. Hotel is op loopafstand van het centrum.

- Zondagmorgen bij het ontbijt was het erg druk en lastig een geschikte zitplek te vinden. Even later was het rustiger dus wellicht zaten wij precies in de piek.

+ Prima ontbijt; vriendelijk personeel; fantastische douche. igging perfect.

- Verbouwing - onvermijdelijk maar voor mij als gast een minpunt Meisje achter de balie beklaagde zich dat 'het restaurant alweer de verkeerde rekening had opgemaakt!' kan best zo zijn, maar dat geeft naar mij als gast een verkeerd signaal.

- In de eetzaal lag op de afscheidingen tussen de tafels een laag stof, evenals in de vitrines naast de receptie. Dit heeft gelijk een groezelige indruk, wat dit hotel niet verdient.

- Sterk verouderde inrichting, onfrisse geur in de gang boven. Twee keer aan de deur en later telefonisch gestoord over de housekeeping terwijl we wilden uitslapen.

- Airco was erg lawaaierig en bovendien 's nachts nog stuk, met als gevolg: een plas water in de badkamer, een natte toiletzak, natte papieren zakdoekjes, een natte handdoek en...onrustige nachtrust!

+ hartelijk baliepersoneel, gezellige goedzittende zithoekjes Na melding geen hapje bij bar, kregen we wel nog een drankje aangeboden. Verzachtte het leed iets.

- Bureau en alles wat er op stond + binnen in kast lag stof, moest eerst afstoffen! 3 Nachten geweest waarvan we alleen de eerste avond konden genieten van een hapje en drankje, de andere twee avonden konden we geen hapje krijgen omdat de barman alleen was (kon nog geen kaas en worst snijden terwijl hij niet steeds wat te doen had) / / konden nog net 1 drankje krijgen maar geen hapjes omdat men om 22.45 uur dicht ging (zat iemand aan de bar op hem te wachten volgens mij) Bovenstaande ging om de zaterdag en zondagavond notabene. Hebben dus maar zelf op het station een snack gehaald. //// Er was geen ontbijttafel gedekt voor 5 personen, moesten zelf maar aan het werk, na de eerste keer aangegeven 2e keer goed 3e keer weer niet. Op de 2 persoonskamer was 1 bed bijgezet maar er was niet voor 3 personen koffiekop, thee ed. Ook toiletspullen waren er niet voldoende na briefje ging het 1 keer goed met toiletspullen maar de derde keer weer fout. Heb eigenlijk teveel betaald! Moeten we nog eens terug naar dit hotel???
