Omschrijving

Bezuiden het centrum ligt het vriendelijke Bicycle Hotel. De mogelijkheid voor het huren van fietsen laat u de stad op authentiek Amsterdamse wijze verkennen. Het Bicycle hotel hanteert een milieuvriendelijke werkwijze en stimuleert vervoer per fiets. Hoewel gesitueerd in een rustige buurt, is het centrum uitermate goed bereikbaar.

De kleurrijke wijk De Pijp ligt op een loopafstand van 10 minuten verwijderd van het Rijksmuseum, het Stedelijk Museum, Van Goghmuseum en het Concertgebouw. Het Bicycle Hotel hanteert een duurzame werkwijze, wat inhoudt dat glas en papier worden gerecycled en met milieuvriendelijke producten wordt schoongemaakt. Het Bicycle hotel stimuleert vervoer per fiets door de verhuur van fietsen en bakfietsen (geschikt voor het vervoer van kinderen). Hiernaast is het hotel gelegen in een rustige buurt waar bijna geen verkeer te horen is. Ook bestaat het gemak voor het parkeren van motoren en auto?s.

In dit gezellige hotel staan de informele sfeer en het vriendelijke personeel garant voor een prettig verblijf voor een vriendelijke prijs. De kamers zijn eenvoudig maar netjes ingericht. Alle kamers hebben een televisie en een wastafel en sommige kamers hebben een privé badkamer.

Eten en drinken

Een uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet biedt een gezonde start van de dag met verschillende fruitdranken en Hollandse ontbijtspecialiteiten. Het Bicycle Hotel beschikt niet over een restaurant maar in de populaire wijk bevinden zich talloze eetgelegenheden in verschillende prijsklassen.

In de ontbijtzaal kan kosteloos gebruik worden gemaakt van internet. Verder is het hele hotel voorzien van een draadloze internetverbinding waar gasten gratis gebruik van kunnen maken.

- Het hotel heeft geen 24-uurs receptie. Wanneer u later dan 23:00 uur wilt inchecken, dient u het hotel hier van tevoren van op de hoogte te stellen.

Omgeving

De Pijp kent een rijke geschiedenis die wordt gekenmerkt door de verscheidenheid in bevolkingsgroepen. Omdat de wijk de laatste paar jaren zo populair is geworden is het nauwelijks meer te definiëren als volkswijk. De huidige sfeer is vooral multicultureel, hip, vriendelijk en boven alles: typisch Amsterdams.

goed adres !

Heel goed adresje in de Pijp. Dichtbij Concertgebouw, waar we dan ook zondagochtend naar een concert gingen. De trappen naar boven zijn voor sportievelingen, echt wel stijl te noemen. Maar merkte dat dat in andere huizen in Amsterdam ook wel voorkwam (zelfs in het Anne Frankhuis, wat zeer het bezoeken waard is). De douche en toilet op gang waren netjes. Het ontbijt was zeer OK.

De matras was hard.

Simply okay but not as expected...

Good and simple breakfast, friendly hosting, newspaper, clean and very well located.

In the picures you see a single bed but they have none, it's all "bunk" beds (on top of each other). I Wouldn't have booked if I had known. WIFI does not work in the rooms (Do not advertise if it's not working, please).

It's nice to feel that the employees care

I was so happy with the girls at the reception. Friendly and smiling, willing to help when asked. Immediate service (I only remember the name Jeanine, but the other girl was also quite nice). Quiet place, comfortable stay. I appreciate that I was allowed to stay at a 1st floor room instead of a 3rd floor, because I hap a heavy luggage, without extra charge. The best part was the already-marked map, which showed the sights and the bus number that would take you there. Cool!

I know you hear this all the time, but isn't it possible to install an elevator? It was almost impossible to bring my luggage down - and quite dangerous. I kept thinking 'what if something happens now, who will be paying for the hospital?' And I also think that there were some stains on my bed cover.

A lovely,clean little hotel with friendly staff and great breakfasts!

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were excellent (the shower and toilet were shared between 4 rooms but I never had to wait to use them). The breakfast (included) was great and consisted of a range of cereals, cheeses, salami, toast and jam, tea, coffee etc. The bicycle rental was amazing - the hotel is a little out of the centre (but not far) and having a bike to get into town and then get around the whole city for the rest of the day was amazing. The staff have maps of the wider area in case you want to leave the city on bike for a day trip. You can also use the secure garage if you arrive with your own bikes. The hotel is on a quiet street and is calm at night. There is wireless internet available for free, and if you don't have a computer with you then there are two computers downstairs you can use (again, free). Overall, a lovely little establishment! Highly recommended.

Good value for money but don't expect too much

Very nice people, friendly and helpful. Good location on a nice, quiet street, away from the hustle and bustle of the centre. Bicycle hire on site. Free use of internet.

Rooms quite small, especially on the 3rd floor. Try to get a room on the first or second floor if possible! Shared toilet and shower were not great.

Wir bewohnten das gegenüber dem Hotel liegende Appartement, komfortabel und angenehm. Die Lage war sehr ruhig.

Das Appartement liegt im 4. Stock. Die schmale und sehr steile Treppe war gewöhnungsbedüftig.

Clean and Safe with Helpful Friendly Staff

The staff people were incredibly helpful with maps and directions,recommendations and advice. The many steps to the higher level rooms are rather taxing for ordinary folks, but probably a breeze for cyclists. We chose the hostel for the bike rental feature, didn't have time to use bikes, but liked the hostal and would definitely stay there again. It was a little more expensive than I would expect for what it is,but it does have an OK free breakfast and wi-fi and a connected computer in the lounge area and felt very secure and was also clean and very friendly. Recommended.

Not too far from town that it's hard to come and go but far enough for no noise pollution. Very friendly and very helpful staff -they even give you a map:) The shared toilet was always clean and the shower was really good (especially seeing as we were on the 4th floor) You get loads of TV channels in the rooms!

The stairs were a big strain on the legs. The double bed was a little disappointing as it was just two single beds but still surprisingly comfy.

1.) Situated not far from the city center at a resonable price. 2.) Breakfast time is excellent. 3.) The staff speaks good English und auf Deutsch konnte ich auch Reden.

1.) In the bathroom I faced with a pluggage regarding the shower. 2.) The staff missed to inform the guest, there is a painter working and going for room to room with own key. 3.) During the night was unbearable noise due to some group of drunked youngs. (group of guests) 4.) Without coins quite heavy to solve the parking problem for a day (for example 22x1Euro from where?) The stuff did not have coins for the guest coming from other country and have no info about need to have at least 20x1 Euro in coin (!) per day. 5.) The breakfast table was full of jam around my plate. 6.) Please indicate with capital letters at your homepage that the guest must pay in advance with cash. I must have phoned my bank to make sure whether the money transfer happened or not. 6.1) In case I use my VISA card I want to make sure about the transferred money is on Your bank account. Not just a chekcking happened by You. It was very very incomfortable to phone the bank, because I thought the money transfer already happened!

Nicest staff, possibility of renting bikes, internet, rooms were nice, good atmosphere. I can only recommend it to others! The staff was really good to give advises and were sooo friendly and nice.

Your staff is very friendly! the common room was also lovely to use, and the fact that you have internet is a great thing. Otherwise i didnt find it inconvenient to use the toilet and shower even if they are located outside of the rooms. it was just around the corner...maybe you can stress that in your announcements, since i didnt know whether i would be walking very far to get to a toilet or not... I will definitely recommend your hotel to others travelling to amsterdam. I also loved the area - it was so vibrant...a little off the beaten track, yet central, and convenient with public transport.

would have wished that the toilets were a little cleaner. The sink in my room also had not been washed in ages i think...should be done when a new person moves in.

Very easy to find, just a 3 minute walk from the nearest tram stop. Free internet access, very nice breakfast (bread with jam, cheese and salami) and very comfortable beds. Nice view from the balcony over a quiet park.

The door on the bathroom didn't shut properly so we all had to wait outside the room on the balcony when someone was using the shower.

I think what I like about this place is its cozyiness not some "loud" budget hotel where backpackers mingle and drink I like it for its FREE wireless internet, also the professionalism of the staff and also for my gratitude to the staff for finding back the bicycle (that i thought was stolen) but Bicycle Hotel managed to find it back and not charging me :) THANKS ALOT... :)!!! basically to sum it up, if i have a chance to go back to amsterdam, I will like to stay this place again and also if I have friends going there, will recommend this place.

the staircase is steep (however i heard that this is the case for dutch buildings), perhaps another thing is that they might want to install a vending machine to sell drinks or snacks cause at night some people might go hungry or thirsty

Good sized room excellent service and staff my boyfriend got sick and they were really good about the fact we had to use about 4 towels to clean his spew! great breakfast good quiet location and not to far from the city centre let us use their fridge for our things. Would recommend if you are not planning to self cater

we were charged 80 Euros for our room although it was booked at 40 pounds (about 60 euros). were supposed to get clean towels every day but only got them on the first night. no self catering available
