+ Reception staff were very welcoming and friendly. Other staff, chambermaids, etc were also friendly and helpful.

- When I visited the the comfort area at 8.30 the sauna and steam were not switched on - so I was only able to use the steam room after 15 minutes, the sauna not at all

+ excellent hotel in excellent location direktly in first lane by the ocean, reestaurants and shops nearby, large , beautiful rooms - try to get ocean view, if possible. Breakfast was very good, british standard, service and personel very friendly.

- no place to stowe the bikes overnight - we left them (with locks) in front of the hotel overnight and it was fine.

+ This hotel is in a fantastic location right on the beach front in Noordwijk, the shops are around the corner, there are bars and restauarants at either side and you literally walk across the road onto the beach! We didnt get a seaview room as we were on a budget but if you are staying for a few days it would definitely be worth it. We didnt pay for breakfast either but there are plenty of cafes and beach restaurants serving food on the beach. The room wasn't particularly big, but more than comfortable.

- The bar was closed (sunday evening) there was a sign (written in dutch) explaining that they apologise and you could ask at reception for tokens to go to a bar next door and have the 1st drink free of charge. We got given cards for our free drinks but the staff couldnt find the stamp. The bar wouldn't accept them without a stamp, it took us a few trips walking between the hotel and bar before eventually reception rang the bar and confirmed we were genuine. A bit annoying!

+ I have already been in this hotel in 2001. The hotel is in a very pleasant position, in front of the see and very close to the shopping area and the city centre. It is very quiet and the room I had during my last stay was large and comfortable. A longer stay would have done me the possibility to better appreciate the hotel qualities.

- The room I had was at the 1st floor, so that the view of the see was partially hidden by the large terrace of the reception.

+ The hotel management to its credit resolved our problem quickly by offering a larger room, with ocean view though this was not important to us, for an additional charge of 30 EUR per night. We felt that this was reasonable and we had a very good stay. The pool/sauna/steam room area was very nice.

- The first room we were assigned to was extremely small (esp for a 5 night stay) and cramped with a double bed. We asked is there was a larger room. there was, but it smelled of liquor. The room's safe did not work reliably, and it was too small for a laptop computer.

+ Very good location. Good breakfast.

- Furnishings and bathroom a bit worn and tired looking but perfectly clean. Gap under the door - so you could hear other people and presumably they could hear you. We asked at reception for directions for a circular bicycle ride and they gave us a very good one - but in Dutch and they had no English version. This would have been very helpful, as on several occasions we had to guess the direction. Also, we had to take the bicycle back each evening by 6pm to the hire shop because they said that the hotel has no secure bicycle storage. This meant that we could not use the bicycles in the evening.

+ Location is excellent; staff were very helpful.

- Allocated very small double room with one small single wardrobe only and no shelving storage for clothes at all. Volume controls on TV were set frustratingly low and made it difficult to hear programmes. Spoke to Reception but were advised that such things were set and controlled centrally and that they could not adjust locally! High room tariff for the quality of accommodation allocated.

- Our bathroom / toilet had a bad smell of urine. The staff did try to resolve this but with no success. We were eventually moved to another room but why was the room allowed to be hired whilst like this?

- Erg kleine badkamer met zeer krappe douche en een douchegordijn wat tegen je aankleeft. Een thermostaatkraan zou heel fijn geweest zijn.

+ Omdat het niet druk was, kreeg ik een betere kamer. Ik vond dat heel verrassend en geweldig en heb dat ook gezegd.

+ Die Zimmer sind sehr ruhig. Ich kam mir nicht vor, wie in einem Hotel. Das Personal war sehr freundlich.

- Der Wunsch nach einem Doppelbett konnte nicht erfüllt werden. Angabegemäß gibt es seit der Renovierung nur Einzelbetten. Auch in den Doppelzimmern. Das habe ich aber erst bei der Bezahlung erfahren. Das Internet klärt darüber nicht auf.

+ Zeer gastvrije medewerkers! Entree zeer sfeervol

- **** Niet waardi Kamer 111: uitzicht zee? (dakbedekking..) "bureaustoel" beschamend Kamer 313: Badkamer beschamend!: voegen ontbreken veelvuldig, aanwezige: zwart beschimmeld, niet voldoende afzuiging vocht, geen "verwenpakketje", plastic bekertjes,handdoeken ruiken naar azijn. Papieren bekers voor koffie/thee Restyling kamers zeer misplaatst. Hotel heeft klassieke utstraling, blauw wit muur/ accessoires helamaal fout! Schilder werk kast en badkamer deur; amateuristisch Vloeren kraken en zijn super gehorig! Overlast met buren, ondanks alle wederzijdse zorg. Solarium zonder vermeling niet aanwezig. Conclusie: zeer teleurstellende (beschamende) ervaring bij Golden Tulip!

- Renovatie van bv lift, zou geen luxe zijn. Van een 4 sterren Hotel zouden we toch minstens een mengkraan verwachten. Prijs van simpel onbijt zonder verse jus, en geen vers gebakken eitje is wel erg hoog.

+ Goede ligging direct aan het strand en makkelijk bereikbaar. Ontbijt is goed.

- Ik had een hele kleine kamer die meer weg had van een bezemkast dan van een slaapplaats. Uitzicht op achterzijde voornamelijk Airco apparatuur. Dit was zeker geen aanrader. Ik denk dat er ook betere kamers zijn maar het loont de moeite vooraf te checken welke kamer je toegewezen krijgt.

+ Ligt mooi aan zee, Bij de receptie wordt je vriendelijk ontvangen was goed.

- Hotel bar was geen avond open vonden wij echt slecht en meerdere klanten van het hotel klachde daarover. Kamer zach er wel netjes uit maar er hing een stank luchtje en vloer bedekking is minder voor astma patiente.

- Rekening klopt niet. Heb, bij nader inzien, ontbijt en toeristenbelasting betaald voor een kind van 8 jaar, terwijl kinderen gratis konden ontbijten. Zag het pas op de rekening op weg naar huis, dus....pech gehad.

- toch wel een pittige prijs. Niet verwacht, maar het was wel gehorig, boven onze kamer was gezin met kleine kinderen. De ramen waren zowel binnen als buiten tamenlijk vies, dat was er op de binnenkant door een voorgaande gast al op het raam "geschreven".

+ The service is really excellent, people are smiling and are at your service, providing any kind of information on the city, what to do etc... and always ready to help ! The breakfast is OK and this hotel is situated perfectly ! The room are in a very good state (clean, not old), hygiene is very good.
