The mooring place of the ss Rotterdam Hotel en Restaurants is a true 'eye catcher', especially from the water or the Erasmusbrug. On the quay are as many as 583 parking spaces. Onboard, there are two restaurants with an open kitchen: the Lido Restaurant and the Club Room Restaurant. The hotel also has a bar: the Ocean Bar. Oliver Hawes Experience a bye gone era in the heart of Rotterdam: 1 May 2012; 9.6; + An amazing experience, the minute you step off the gangway you know you are on a liner. Beds very comfortable. Bathroom is much larger than on most modern cruise liners. Tour of vessel is fantastic. Art deco onboard brings you back to 1950's; - Breakfast buffet was not value for money. The food for breakfast could be a lot better. Music in the bar was very loud and it was difficult to speak.

The official ship tour is interesting, made all the better by former crew members providing commentary and insight. Teak decks thrive on a daily bleaching with clean salt water, a gradual deteriation is evident while sitting on the Maas. Reception staff helpful.; - Main business focus appears to be the conference facilites. Hotel only participants face restricted access to large parts of the vessel. More could be done with the main reception area.

Aart Wessel A new, exiting experience-very worthwhile: 25 September 2010; 9.4; + Everything was just fine but there is one exception. Me myself being a former merchant navy officer do claim that the number 13 (as table no. or cabin no.or lifeboat) should not exist , the same as in an airplane for the seat or row number; - I had room 2030 - on Wednesday morning I did inform the reception, personally, that 2 bulbs in the cabin were broken down. On Friday morning, when I left, nothing has been changed. Technical service ?? No idea

Suse Disappointing: 31 August 2010; 4.0; + Good sized rooms - ( outside cabin) Bathroom - fine wth separate shower.; - Very disappointing, the place needed a good hoovering and the games machines outside our room were thick with dust. Far from a luxury liner it was more like a big ferry in character. A missed opportunity, it lacked the luxury wow factor that I was expecting- right from stepping on the ship - reception very uninteresting.

Richard Napier: 9 June 2010; 5.8; + Surprisingly good access considering location - metro from Centraal station follwed by immediate 77 bus connection; - Bed horribly soft with travelling matress - it moved at one end a half metre during the night and threw me out of bed one morning because it was by then totally unsupported. Breakfast price rediculous.

Colin Miell A hotel with a difference!: 31 May 2010; 5.4; + Interesting place to stay, and very different from the usual land based hotel.; - If you are staying on board because of what the SS Rotterdam once represented, you may be disappointed. All the former public rooms have been wonderfully restored - only problem is they are run by a separate company from the hotel operation, and most if not all will be locked, and you will not be able to visit. However, the 'tour' that is available, at a price of 16 Euros is quite good, taking in the bridge, the engine rooms, and much of the open deck areas.. We had an inside cabin - it was very hot, even though the control was set at the coolest! I would not stay on board again until the A/C is sorted out!

R. Lightbody Lovely ship conversion, with great interior decor & ambience.: 26 May 2010; 7.4; + The conversion of the ship is superb; - Only 2 rooms were open to us - the ocean bar and the lido. All the rest of the ship was off limits. In our "cabin", 2112, which was lovely, the air did not work at all, there was no way to make tea or coffee (no cups!) and noises from the lido outdoor deck above carried down to it.

Ann Not quite ship-shape...: 3 March 2010; 4.8; + Wonderful to stay on such a ship of state in Rotterdam. Tours available on board to see some Public Rooms, the Bridge, Engine room etc.; - Housekeeping could be improved. Very limited Bar and Dining space. Nowhere to sit out of Bar/Dining opening hours. Ship/hotel has only been open 10 days so I expect things to improve.

Kamers goed en schoon.; - Als je wat forser bent was het vertoeven op het toilet moeilijker wegens een toiletrolhouder die in je zij zat te porren. Misschien handiger op een andere plaats.In de douche geen stopcontact wel een vergrotende spiegel is in feite zinloos want scheren en fohnen gaat niet.

John: 14 April 2012; 8.2; + Die ultimative Rotterdam Erfahrung. Ein Muss für die sich auskennen mit der Geschichte der Hafenstadt Rotterdam. Zudem ist das Frühstück super.; - Nur Klima-anlage im Zimmer was für Klima-unverträgliche Personen nachteilig ist. Noch sind nicht alle Stockwerke des Schiffs bzw. Bug frei zugänglich.

M Bijzondere, nostalgische ervaring.: 14 April 2012; 8.0; + Leuk ontvangst. Ruime, schone kamer. Met het openbaar vervoer snel in de stad. Bioscoop en restaurants dichtbij op de Wilhelminapier.; - Opwaardering aan het verblijf , dat de prijs inclusief rondleiding op het schip zou zijn.

B. Fijne sfeer: 14 March 2012; 9.2; + Heel vriendelijk personeel. Relexte sfeer.; - Ontbijt prijs ongelovelijk hoog 19,00 euro. Room service 9,50 euro per persoon boven op het ontbijt word dan ca. 60 euro voor wat brood en drinken.

Berry Prima hotel: 6 March 2012; 8.2; + Vriendelijk personeel. Grote en goede kamers. Leuk ingericht..; - Weinig keus bij restaurant Lido wel goed eten en bij het ontbijt is er daar in tegen wel veel keus.

Drenthe Met een paar opbouwende punten verder goed hotel: 5 March 2012; 6.8; + Ruime nette kamer met goed matras; - Weinig verder tedoen Slechte bewegwijzering restaurant prijs kwaliteit niet goed maar duur Pilsje 2,75 !

Anonymous Een keer gezien maar dat was genoeg: 15 September 2011; 5.4; + Historische locatie, mooie kaart in restaurant maar pas op, prijzen ontbreken en zie je pas op de rekening... Gastvrij personeel, dat maakt veel goed; - Duurste kamer is absurd veel te duur voor wat je krijgt. Niet eens een bad! Daarnaast, voordat je bent aangekleed, anderhalf uur voor afgesproken vertrektijd (11.00), klopt er iemand op de deur die vraagt of hij de koffiemachine mag schoonmaken....Raar toch? Bewegwijzering onvoldoende, zowel naar het hotel als vooral ook binnen. Waarom daar geen wegwijsbordjes naar 'Receptie' aangebracht? Dan kun je je tenminste een beetje oriënteren. Tip: neem je eigen tv-afstandsbediening mee want het ding in de meest luxe kamer doet het niet!

Anonymous Redelijk slapen voor een redelijke prijs: 28 July 2011; 7.0; + prima prijs, niet te duur. Ik zag een aantal leesboeken in de kast, het is es wat anders dan alleen een bijbel.; - een heel zacht matras terwijl ik een hardere gewend ben maakte dat ik niet echt comfortabel heb geslapen. In de brochure staat koffie en thee faciliteiten op de kamer, ik heb alleen maar een senseo apparaat gezien. Ik ben gewend om met een open raam te slapen. mijn hut had geen raam en daardoor werd ik wat benauwd wakker.

Grosse Zimmer. Durchwegs zuvorkommender, unkomplizierter und freundlicher Service. Hotel kann bestens weiterempfohlen werden.; - Es wird ein umfangreiches Frühstücksbuffet für 18 Euro/Person angeboten. Es wäre schön, wenn man dazu eine Alternative mit einem Kaffee und einem Brötchen hätte.

Prachtig gerestaureerd in originele stijl. Grote luxe kamer. Leuke sfeer.; - Receptie personeel slecht op de hoogte van dagelijkse gang van zaken. Informatie wordt niet adequaat door receptie personeel doorgegeven ( bestel je 'lazy sunday' = kamer beschikbaar tot 17:00 uur), staan ze om 11:30 uur op de deur te kloppen terwijl er een 'do not disturb' kaartje op de deur hangt). Telefonisch overeengekomen prijs voor extra nacht wordt niet nagekomen.

Anonymous Nostalgische ervaring!!: 8 July 2011; 8.8; + Aangepaste (bad)kamer zeer goed, ruime sfeervolle kamer. Prachtige ervaring (met heel lekker weer) om lang achter op het dek te blijven zitten, Uitzicht over de Rotterdamse haven groots. Moeder van 91 jaar heeft genoten.

Veel extra's zoals de rondeliding door het schip en de prachtige zalen met kunst en design uit de jaren 50.; - Een klein winkeltje voor een reep chocola, water e.d. zou wel prettig zijn , omdat er in de buurt niet zo gauw iets is.

Uitstekende parkeerfaciliteiten, gehele schip makkelijk toegankelijk, ook voor senioren. Privacy prima voor elkaar: toeristen op tour kunnen niet bij de hutten komen. Mooie winkel voor souvenirs, goed aanbod. Prachtig zonnedek met horeca. Toplokatie. Mooi aanbod van vergaderzalen in alle maten. Zakelijk ook interessant, alleen al doordat het de "Rotterdam" is.

Marian Doodkorte Prima plek om te zijn voor een paar fijne dagen uit: 19 April 2011; 8.8; + ligging van het schip, prachtig uitzicht vanaf de dekken, prima hutten en een heerlijk ontbijt en een ruim parkeer terrein.; - als je op jezelf het schip gaat verkennen kom je vaak voor gesloten deuren. 's avonds in de bar zou muziek gedraaid moeten worden die bij de sfeer van het schip hoort en geen hedendaagse rapmuziek.

Dolf Colenbrander Reservering mislukt: 19 April 2011; 5.2; + Prachtige locatie; - Bij aankomst rond 17.00 uur bleek het Cruise Hotel Rotterdam overboekt. Het was erg druk met boze mensen bij de receptie. We kregen te horen dat we nog wel terecht konden in het Art Hotel. Ter compensatie kregen we een chocoladetegel en konden we rondleiding bijwonen op het schip, maar daar hadden we geen tijd voor.
