Grand Hotel Central Rotterdam

Never again.

• + Nothing was a plus.
• – Breakfast was terrible. Everything was looking pretty old and not delicious at all. Hotel is falling apart. It looks like noone has been taking care of the building. We were pretty much shocked and disappointed.

Thank goodness for the upgrade...

• + was upgraded to a much better room after first room had stained sheets (and pins sticking out of stained curtains to hold them together!). you can store your luggage there temporarily after checking out wifi kettle with tea and coffee staff friendly and accommodating 5-10 minute walk from train station reasonable selection for breakfast
• – very old and not a little run down no hair conditioner/lotion/shower cap (but they do have shampoo/body wash = hand wash) no safe in rooms elevator may or may not work - lots of stairs
• * my tip If you want a bare-bones place to rest your head, and have pretty low hotel standards, this may do. I recommend getting a double room if you can.

Bedbugs and Powercuts

Price is good and amenity also follows this.

• – No bath-tub. No laundry service. No change of breakfast menu.

A homey hotel room!!!!!

• + my stay at the hotel was very comfy and i loved it. the staffs were all very helpful and kind. It's not just a hotel ,it's like a room in your home ,which makes it even better than a normal hotel because it's homey!!!!! I had a good time.
• – Had to clean my own room after 4 but i guess it was my fault.
• * my tip extend the breafast time till 11 or 12 noon.

Nice hotel in the center of Rotterdam.

• + Located in the center of R'dam. No difficult check-in procedures. Late breakfast and check-out.
• – Room and bathroom need a facelift. And there was a party going on which was a bit noisy, this was not mentioned when we booked. Also the bar was blocked.

Run away if you plan to sleep

• + Very central and the breakfast is great. But this has no value when you CANNOT SLEEP!
• – Right in front of a NOISY DANCING and bars : deep sound, and screaming people coming in and out all night. Noisy neighbors in next room: hotel desk does not manage. Room overheated: no tuning. 70 euros for that is a steal!

Older hotel,neither classic nor modernised.

• + Position for central Rotterdam is good. Staff were friendly and helpful.
• – Rooms have only been decorated, not modernised. Outlook from rear windows is bleak. Not the hotel's fault but parking is extortionate.

Great location,friendly service but hotel NEEDS refurbishments!!!!

• + Great location!Centre of Rotterdam!
• – Hotel needs desperate refurbishments!We had to swap rooms twice due to water leaking in the bathrooms!Water was all over the floor!!! Because of hotel phone ringing, knocking on the room door (both in the middle of the night!!!) and strange smells throughout, it was nearly impossible to get any sleep at this hotel! I won't come again.

Good service overall, some improvement needed

• + Good breakfast, excellent location, staff are helpful, free wireless and internet in the lobby, relaxed hotel environment.
• – Room was too hot, cleaning wasn't the most impressively done, and the bed really should be changed to a standard/new one.

• – Bathroom sink was put in so that it was difficult to turn the taps. The lift was out of order.

Needs new paint and carpets and the plumbing fixed.

• – Hotel very scruffy and hot water pressure very low so shower not effective.

Good hotel in good area

• + The staff were very good and helpful and the food at breakfast was very good.
• – The shower tap was leaking all the time and was very difficult getting the shower to the right temperature due to the pressure of the water varying all the time.

Rubbish!

• – Don't believe the pictures. The hotel looks much better on them. It is in fact not very nice, it is very smelly and a place that you don't really want to return to. The location is great, right in the city centre. But that's all there is to it.
