With the beach as its neighbour and the city of The Hague (Den Haag) within easy reach, Carlton Beach Hotel Scheveningen is an ideal accommodation to stay or to hold a meeting. Guests can enjoy delightful fish or meat dishes in the informal atmosphere of the Smugglers Grill Restaurant, while admiring the lovely view of the sea.

From March until the end of October, guests can visit the atmospheric Carton Beach Club that is situated in front of the hotel. The beautiful view from the spacious outside terrace and from the covered terrace, make this the ideal place for ultimate relaxation! Sun beds and parasols can be rented here as well. The Health Centre has a bar that can provide you with healthy snacks and fresh juices.

On the way to The Hague (Den Haag) lies the Circus Theater, where one can visit musicals and theatre shows. By tram the centre of The Hague is easy to reach. Several important building and fun attractions can be found here, such as the house of Dutch parliament Het Binnenhof, the royal palace Paleis Noordeinde and miniature theme park Madurodam.

Anonymous Amazing hotel--but the pool is NOT kid friendly.: 7 July 2011; 8.8; + Room was magnificent. Hotel was perfectly located. The staff was mostly wonderful.; - They need to inform customers about the restricted nature of the swimming pool. The pool is a quiet place where old people complain about kids. This sort of wasted our trip. We picked the place so our 8 year old could swim on his birthday. The pool room says "be at home" but they lie. Pool is for mean-tempered old folks ONLY. We felt the place was misrepresented.

erik pronk Unfriendly reception staff: 16 June 2010; 4.0; + Indoor heated pool for children. Breakfast very good although pricey. WIFI connection.; - Inadequate parking. Resulted in parking fine after parking in the street. Majority of reception staff unfriendly and arrogant. Attitude of non-assistance. Sea facing superior plus room couldn't accommodate two extra beds for children as indicated when making booking.

We recieved a phone call and they arranged to send them to us. It was so good we are going back in April for the weekend. C. Vickers Highly Highly recomend this hotel!: 23 July 2009; 9.0; + We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would definately go back. We had a great view of the water. The way the hotel is oriented so most of the rooms at this hotel had a nice view. Nice private balcony. We bought wine cheese and crackers from the local grocery store (less than 5 min walk) and sat out on the balcony enjoying the view in the evenings. At the end of the tram line so you could take the tram into town whenever you wanted with almost no wait. Great restaurants and shopping within easy (1 -10 min) walk. We recommend the mix grill at the Sol. My husband normally stays at the Mercure when he's in for business but plans on staying here from now on. The rooms are not as prestine but much better ambiance and great location. The breakfast buffet was very good. They gave you 50 min of internet time free. You just have to ask for the access card.; - This is an older hotel on the beach so it is a little rough around the edges but that did little to detract from our visit.

A well stocked buffet breakfast.; - The bathrooms have been recently re-furbished but soft furnishings and carpets looked tired and in need of replacement. As travellers from England we were suprised to find other guests smoking in the bar and other public areas. Consequently lots of the hotel smelt of cigarettes. If you are a non-smoker make sure you specify a non-smoking room. I believe the laws in Holland are due to change in 2008...

Having stayed at other hotels in the area, I find the Carlton Beach better situated and the most comfortable with everything provided. A very nice hotel!; - Only one very minus point, as it did not really affect me too much, and that was the meat provided with the "breakfast in bed". When I removed the film covering, the meat smelt very sweaty, as though it had been prepared for too long. It clearly was not fresh.

A small gap between the door and the wall to the bathroom. Would like more privacy when going to the bathroom.

A step above most beach hotels, this well run member of the Carlton group gave us a warm welcome on our honeymoon trip. Pay extra for a balcony room overlooking the beach--it's worth it!; - Scheveningen is a family resort; young couples or singles looking for nightlife probably should head elsewhere.

An absolute winner if you can afford it.; - A bit expensive, but that is maybe the reason we were happy with the stay there. All breakfasts in room ie coffee and juice and a hard roll,were same price as full buffet breakfast, which at 26 euros per person ( or was that $$) Most of our other accomodations in NL included a great breakfast.

Genoeg betaalbare horeca aanwezig.; - De stoffering is hier en daar aan vervanging toe. Doet een beetje goedkoop en smoezelig aan voor een 4-sterrenhotel en haalt de kwaliteitsbeleving een beetje omlaag. Op het ontbijt wordt bezuindigd. Het verse fruit is niet meer zo vers als voorheen. Jammer, want de haalt wederom de kwaliteitsbeleving omlaag.

Karola Nobis Vorläufig erst einmal nicht mehr.........: 26 October 2011; 4.2; + Die tolle Lage dirket am Strand ist einfach wunderbar !; - Insgesamt ist das Hotel "In die Jahre gekommen" - die Ausstattung hat merklich gelitten und müsste getauscht werden, die Tapeten in unserem Zimmer entsprachen nicht mehr einem 4 Sterne Haus - und der Teppichboden widerspricht jedem hygienischen Empfinden... hier muss ganz schnell etwas passieren........ die neune Bäder sind zwar hübsch - aber die Glas - Schiebetür ist ein "Witz" .. von wegen "Stilles Örtchen"........ die Hotelleitung muss sich bald etwas einfallen lassen und renovieren.......
