The location of De Wapser Herberg in the nature reserve Drents-Friese Wold makes it a perfect base to explore the surrounding landscape, which is characterized by stretches of heath and woods. Here you can go hiking, biking or have a picnic. Biking and hiking maps are available at the hotel.
The cosy family hotel has a nostalgic décor with antiques and collections of old tools, coffee grinders and tea pots. In the large hotel garden in English style you will find a pond and a waterfall, as well as several benches. The hotel rooms have a traditional English interior with all modern facilities. All rooms have a shower, toilet and cable television. Several rooms are on the ground floor. The restaurant is locally known for its good kitchen. Guests can have dinner in the conservatory. At the reception you can rent a bicycle and the hotel also has its own parking facilities.

The breakfast buffet is served from 08:00 until 09:30 h.
Father and son run the renowned restaurant. They create culinary dishes with regional products. The kitchen is daily open from 12:00 until 20:00 h. From October until the end of March the restaurant is closed on Wednesdays.
